  1. Sorry to hear that Shogen. Good luck you will land on your feet.
  2. Nice mechman video explaining the inner working of there 6 phase high output units.
  3. yes I remember Shogen having that issue for starters, that is a very important piece of information that your asking for. HOPEFULLY they have squared that away since then....
  4. What do you think caused the diodes to burn out? It can happen to any alt regardless who makes it. You have to be sure it wasn't user error because you can go and get a mechman unit that costs more but end up burning that out too. I dont mean to sound like I'm blaming you but as long as you know you were treating it right and it still died then the next step is to either get it fixed or switch company and give mechman a try.
  5. I have a custom unit using parts from this and mine puts out 201 amps at 600 engine RPM. Mine is for a ford and externally regulated but I like how they explained the internals a bit more as there has been around 3 versions of the SMD spec 2011 SMD alts specs: DR44G based 3 phase large case GM internals single solid copper rectifier w/ 8 press fit high amp diodes pretty good stuff 2012 SMD alt specs: 6 phase round wire stator twin radial finned rectifiers w/ 16 surface mount diodes Really good stuff 2013 SMD alt specs: 6 phase hairpin stator twin rectifier plates with 12 press fit high amp diodes Gucci stuff
  6. I'm starting to get calculations on various items from place to place and as I was going through the check out process I get message saying one or more items cant be shipped to me? I'm in san antonio texas 78228 and the items I was looking into were a crescendo 5500 and 3 xspower D3100's. I have bought a bc3500 straight from Navid and some xspower batteries in the past and both companies have never had issues shipping to me, could it just be a site bug or has something in shipping an item to me changed? Thanks for your time and help.

shipping question to san antonio TX?

Cool thanks for advice.. just seems like a good one stop get what I want in one order. Will look at it like you say and see what comes up.
  8. you really wont get much here. your best bet and fastest way to get response regardless which way you go will be to start calling them and handle your situation over the phone with them. Good luck. It also looks like your pretty close to them hopefully they get it straightened out for you once and for all.

    Aeroport or slot port

If your looking at aero ports take a look at this link and play with the numbers a bit to see if anything works for you. I'll be using an aero in my next box from the little I know using aeros sometimes helps keep the box a bit smaller also here's the link http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html

1 sub is blowing within seconds,

please dont take offense I understand completly when you've pulled damn near everything out a hundred times trying to find the gremlin. I am just wondering also if this is with the NS1. Might of been something to do withing the amp things like that happen, regardless if you have it straighhtened out thats a big weight off your shoulders and I'm glad you figured it out that was a expensive hiccup.

SSA welcomes Crescendo Audio to the forum and store.

Ahhh Hell!!!!! Welcome aboard! Crescendo FTMFW!!!!
  13. Reason I ask is because even though I can have a AVBM I am thinking about just skipping it and just going direct. would rather everything be pretty much like stock but with a beefy alt. I will be lucky enough to send my alt in and have the case and anything redone soI can still use my alt on my new ride and am really thinking on skipping the harness this time around.
  14. Good stuff. You have a AVBM harness or just direct connect car alt harness to alt?

    Aternator question

if the belt isn't touching enough of the pulley it will slip no matter how tight it is. have you tried a gates "green" belt or a goodyear gatorback? just some suggestions. good luck.

  18. If I haven't seen it my bad, but maybe this should be part of the criteria when labeling anything a "direct plug and play" Again the average person doesn't know this at all. An extra sentence or two in the technical section would help a lot. will it discourage buyers? maybe, but at least things like this would get cut down a bit and better questions can be asked. I understand we are modifying our cars but if I had known I would have to pay more for this to work I might have pasted. Sorry to sound messed up, I'm just looking at it from a customers view which I myself am. Regardless of company this thread is a learning experience, might be common knowledge to some but understand things better. good luck Shogen.
