Hey all. I was just wondering how you guys listen to your music in your ride. Right now I'm using my iPod and a AUX cable. I just started using my iPod. I used to use my flash drive and actually I'm thinking about going back to the flash drive because it's easier to use for me. I personally don't like CD's because you have to take them out and put another one in when you want to listen to something different. So, what do you guys prefer?

Ok cool. And I'll update my sig now. I got one more question. What is the lowest voltage that is considered safe? Ps. Sorry for all the newb questions but I'm still trying to learn all this stuff =)

Ok so will I damage anything if I let it clip and what exactly is clipping in a amp if it is clipping?

I know it's clipping from the bass knob. There is a red light that lights up.

I don't like apple computers but I do like iPods. I'm using a Clarion CZ200 head unit. Is there a difference in the sound quality between CD's and other ways of listening to music?

Hey all.The UPS guy just dropped of my new aq2200 amp.Can't wait to get it hooked up!!!

Well I just got my amp hooked up!!!I got deep cycle marine battery from walmart as my 2nd battery and so far so good.My headlight dont dimm anymore any my car turns over faster.Oh and not to mention the aq2200 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!Cant believe the difference it made.I just need to get a box built and ill be set.I had my friend help me wire everything up and it was painless.Im so amped right now lol.

Hey all.I REALLY want to build my own box but im worried that it would be to hard to do.I would like a simple dual 15" ported box for my type r 15's.I just don't know if its something I can tackle or not.So my question is in your guys eyes on a scale of 1-10 1 being easy as pie 10 being hard as can be,how tough is it to build a ported box?Also is there like a site or something that can help me with a design and other stuff like that?Thanks

Alright cool.I think I will take a shot at making my own then.I am wanting to build me a box fo my type r 15's as I stated above.Alpine recommends 2.9 cubic feet per sub so I was going to do 3.0 cubic feet per sub.Would it make any difference if I had more cubic feet or should I just stick with 3 per sub?Also how do I figure out how big my port needs to be?Thanks

Its going in my Oldsmobile 1977 Delta 88.Its going to power 2 15" Type R's until I get some better subs. PS.Sorry for the pic quality.I used my phone and I dont know why it has those white dots =(

Hey all.Im going to be getting an AQ2200 amp soon and I was told I need to get another battery.I kinda figured I would need another battery but Im worried my alternator wont be able to keep up.As it is right now my head lights and other lights dimm when I have my music up with a autotek 1500 watt amp.My car is a 1977 Oldsmoblie Delta 88.The alternator is a remanufactured one and I have no clue how many amps it is putting out.I know the alternator isn't that old.So my question is if I put another battery and a AQ2200 amp in will the alternator handle it or will I need another one or what?I haven't done the big 3 yet as im not enterly sure of what it consists of but I know it helps with the dimming lights.Any help would be much appreciated.Thanks

Ok.I have decided to go with the AQ2200 amp.Also,DC priced me a 180amp max alternator for $369.They said it does about 120amps at idle.So I was wondering if this alternator would do the trick for me?Like,would it hold up to a AQ2200 amp,a second battery and my type r 15's right now?Would it also hold up to maybe another AQ2200 amp and FI BL or BTL's down the road?Thanks

Actually im just going to be running one amp for the time being.So would the AQ2200 or the SAZ 2500 be a better choice?

Ok.I just put in a quote for a alternator with DC.So in your guys view,I should get an alternator first then get the AQ2200 amp?Then I shouldn't need an extra battery?

Hi all.Im wanting to replace my 2 type r 15's with 1 18 or maybe 2 different 15's.I would like to just have 1 18 so I was wondering what would be a good 18 to replace my 2 15's?Right now I have a clarion CZ 200 head unit, and a Autotek 1500 Street Machine amp.My car is a 1977 oldsmobile Delta 88 and my subs are in the trunk and thats where the 18 would go also.I was thinking about the FI BL 18" sub.Im not real familar with any other brands so any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks. EDIT: Forgot to mention I would like the single 18 to be louder than the 2 15's

Hi all.I just placed my order for two SSD 18's.I can't wait to get them but in the mean time I was wondering how much power can they handle? I have a Autotek Street Machine 1500 watt amp that I was planning on using with them put I was curious if they could handle it.I did not get the BP power or flatwind coil when I placed my order.I got dual 1ohm instead of dual 2 ohm voice coils so im planing on running the subs at 1ohm.Any advice or help would be greatly appreicated.Let me know if any more info is needed and ill post it up.Thanks
