  1. Yes i monitered my voltage at all times.I have a stinger volt meter. The only problem I have is my idle voltage is WAY LOW.Like I usually idle around 12.5volts with my system off and when I turn my system on full tilt I drop to around 12.0 volts. I had my pulley from my stock alt on the new alt so I figured that was my problem because my new alt came with an overdrive pulley. So about a week ago I switched pulleys and got a smaller belt to accomadate the overdrive pulley and it didnt really help so I don't know what my problem is there. I have the big 3 done in 1/0 guage wire with the exception of my power wire running from my alt to my front battery. It's 2/0 but its not car audio cable.I got it from my local auto parts store. It only has like 9 huge strangs of wire to make up the 1/0 guage wire so I didn't know if this was some of the problem or not.

But as far as highway speed voltage its good.Around 14.6 with system off to 14.3 with system full tilt. This is around 2k RPM

  2. Hey all.Im going to be getting a AudioQue 3500d.1 and I was wondering about the dual power/ground inputs on the amp.My main question is a major noob one.How do I hook the amp up with the dual inputs?Like do I need a distrobution block for both power and ground or do I just run both power/ground inputs to the power/ground inputs on my rear battery or what?My second question is about adding a 3rd battery.Ive been searching the forum and I think I have to just run + to + and then - to - on the rear batteries right?Do I need a fuse when connecting the + to the other + on the rear batteries?I have a 220amp power bastards alternator so im thinking between that and a 3rd battery it should be plenty to power the aq right? My rear battery now is a deep cycle marine battery from walmart. Its the biggest one they had and I was planning on getting another one of them for my 3rd battery.Smart choice or no?

Thanks for any help that is given.

  3. Ok ive been doing some more searching around.I think to be safe im going to get these air shocks http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Easy-Street/Air-Suspension-Kits/Rear-Air-Bag-Suspension-Kit-_-75604/558376/ .My only question with them is will I need a air compressor or are these the type that you can just run a air line and put air in them like a tire and will they support my car with the wieght of a wall ok?

  4. Hey all.Im wanting to buy these 6.5" speakers http://www.woofersetc.com/p-5574-m6-cdt-audio-65-240-watt-mid-basssub-bass-drivers.aspx .My question is I have Brand X components and I was just wanting to replace the 6.5" speakers with the CDT ones and use the brand x crossovers and tweeters and I wasn't sure if I could do this or not.Should I do that or should I just get new components?Im wanting a little more bass so thats why I was going to get the CDT ones. Thanks and let me know.

  5. get three of your " big" friends, pile em in there.....see if it looks good, or too low.....

    birch is lighter.....

shizzzon has alot of info on the comparisons of birch to other materials....

is the wall goal strictly cosmetic?

a box with a false face serving as a double baffle and sealing the rear off, could be lighter....

pending on build goals....comp numbers or just groundpounding?

It wouldn't be for cometics.I want to get loud so I can enter comps.I would also like a good streetbeater or groundpounder.

  6. Lol yeah I can live without looking being able to look out the rear window.I have 2 15's right now and the box I have is in my backseat and I practically have to stand up to see out the back becasue the box takes up over half the window.

I did some more looking online and I found these http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Easy-Street/Air-Suspension-Kits/Rear-Air-Bag-Suspension-Kit-_-75604/558376/ They seem to be reasonably priced and it seems to be just what I am looking for.So if I can get those I will wall it no doubt. The main thing that has kept me from walling it is the weight issue.

  7. Hey all.I have a few questions about walls for car audio in cars.I have wanted a wall ever since i got into car audio but ive had a few concerns about them. Here are a couple of questions/concerns I have about them.

1.About how much does a wall weigh on average? ( I was told i could get a wall built in my car that would weigh about 300lbs made of birchwood. Is that possible?)

2.Is it a must to have air shock or whatever in the rear of the car (I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4L and it would cost over a grand to put airshocks in.)

3.Do you guys think my car could handle the weight of a wall?

i VERY BADLY want a wall in my car and I know I will not stop fiddling with my setup/building boxes/buying subs so on so on until I have a wall.I know I will not be satisfied until I have a wall in my car.If you guys coiuld answer these question I would much appreciate it.Thanks

  8. Hey all.Im curious about hooking up two planet audio bb2 2400 watt rms amps. Here is my question. When haveing to of these amps hooked together it says its 2 ohm stable. My subs are dual 4 ohm and I have 2 wired to 1ohm.If I bought another BB2 how would it work?Like would each amp rung at 1/2 ohm or what since the subs are dual 4 ohm?If so,would I be better off to run 1 amp to each sub and run each at 2 ohms?Would this make me louder at all doing each at amp at 2ohms or would I be about the same?

My electrical consists of a 220 amp alt,All 1/0 wireing including big 3 in 1/0 and I have a extra batt in the back.

Thanks and let me know please.

  9. Hey all.Ive decidied since my trunk is so small im going to do what ive always wanted to do.Wall my car.I have a 2001 galant and was wondering if it would be worth the money to wall it.I will use my 2 15" american bass xfl subs and my planet audio bb2 2400rms.I have a friend thats saying it wouldnt be worth walling because its not a hatchback car.So is he correct or would it be worth it?

I will do some competing but I mainly want to be as louad as possible on music.

  10. Hey all.I know im going to get hammered with "your a noob" and crap like that but I need to know something.Im pretty limited on space in the trunk of my 2001 galant.I need room for a box, batteries, ect and im trying to figure out which route i need to go.Right now I have sitting in my backseat 2 15" american bass xfl subs.I want to get a box built for them for my trunk but everyone on here and elsewhere seems to think the box would be to small for them.SO, I am wondering if I could get a single 15" Fi BTL N3 and get a box built to specs for the sub and be as loud as the 2 american bass xfls in a small box.

My goal is to be loud on music and I have a 220amp HO alt and im running a planet audio bb 2400,big 3,all 1/0 wiring ect...

I plan on getting a bigger amp later on down the road (would love a saz 3500) but for now the bb2400 is all i have

Thanks in advance and sorry for the noob question but im having to teach myself car audio because no 1 around here knows much or wants to help teach me

  11. Ok.I just remeasure my trunk and theres no way I could go 48.75 wide. The absolute most I could go wide woulde be 38 inches.16inches tall is perfect and instead of 22inches deep I could go up to 30 inches deep.So where would 16Inches tall x 30Inches Deep x 38Inches Wide get me?Thanks and let me know please.

The reason I cant go very wide is because my trunk is narror at the fenderwels and is really wide towards the opening.
