Box help which way to fire subs (pics)
edouble101 replied to swift's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
If I were you I would look into external aero ports ran behind the seat(s). This would free up some space for internal volume. -
Thanks for sharing!!! I support SSA and BOOBS!!!!! <---- we need that on a t-shirt!

denim: Did my order ship yet? Is there a tracking number available? Thank you -
I would do it.....didnt buy a SAZ-3000D for nothing!

I can understand $600 for an alt if you are only running one cheap starting battery. I just paid less than $400 from DC Power for a 180amp alt. Our vehicles have similar wattage requirements. I could barely, I mean barely, get by with this alt and one good starter battery. For good measure 3500 watts plus 180 alt plus 2 XS Power D3400 = decent electrical. But that is another +$500 in battery cost

Looks like this will be a very well built sturdy driver. I am excited about the specifications based on this design but a larger size, such as a 15".

Thanks for the information

Fixed for you. You do not like PSI?
-
Also look at PSI, they somewhat custom make their speakers. If you have certain build parameters you have to have PSI might be able to accommodate you.

Those are not kick panels they are 2 cubic foot enclosures! Nice setup. Anxious to see the final product.

I have a 4 door Elantra. I am going to be running a XCON 15D2 powered by a Stetsom 2K. I also have a 180amp alt and dual batteries. The XCON will definitely be over powered but with proper setup I should achieve good results. It will be interesting to compare your setup against mine.

A lil picture whoring doesn't hurt nobody lol

Good job on the build. Is your stock electrical system keeping up with your amps?
-
Looks hot! I would lower it a little to tuck some rim/tire. Something real subtle. Roll the fenders to prevent rubbing. No need to pull out fenders unless you like the wide tire look.

Wow that looks nuts. Hmmm......I keep thinking about this 8" in an ABC enclosure.

Help with battery setup
edouble101 replied to RollinOn23z's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
From my consumer opinion : High power car audio loads reduce battery charge quickly. A high ouput alternator can recharge batteries. I have been told by numerous people that Optima batteries do not accept a charge as fast as other manufacturers such as xs power and kinetik. You never want to run two manufacturer types of batteries. Always go with same manufacturer battery. Remember a bigger starting battery could drain your secondary battery or vice versa. Good rule of thumb is to buy the biggest batteries (same manufacturer) you can fit/afford. Hopefully somebody with more technical knowledge will chime in. -

I recently fired off an email to find out status on your amps. Wow. Can I expect a long ship date for my purchase as well? No, it is a group buy so they are being shipping out in bunches and ZED feel behind schedule due to a number of issues and they are catching up now. -

Nice fitting thanks for the link vs just an explanation!

It's in the log. I have 4- 1/0 runs (2 pos. 2 neg.) form the battery to the rear seat on the drivers side. They are tied to the frame and enter from the bottom of the truck. I used water tight strain reliefs to bring them into the truck. 1 pos. and 1 neg. go strait to the saz 2000d. 1 pos. and 1 neg. go to the terminals under the 300/2 and supply power to the the 300/2 and the sax125.2 with 4 ga. runs. I also have a relay coming off the pos. terminal to use battery power to turn on the amps and run the fans, controlled by the head units remote turn on. I'm not sure it can be seen in the pics. Sweet nice set up. What are "water tight strain reliefs" ?

A single XCON 15" in a 4cube tuned to 32hz will fit. Check out my thread http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/45144-enclosure-delimma-quote/ -
In the pic with the JL300/2 you have your power wires ran through the side of the truck? How is that all wired up? What is the schematic for your electrical?
