  1. by chance did you double look at the belt to insure that its the same levels for all the pulleys. I just had my astro have almost this same issue and the a/c delete pulley was not sitting right and causing the belt to make noise and cause it to not charge in random spots and then lined that all up and boom no more noise and worked great. Im just throwing out a suggestion hope its that easy for ya.

  2. I loved my Icon 15 ! Good choice IMO

Why did you make that choice ? And not X or Zcon ?!!! I'm curious, I know. smile.png

Hell ya david u know im tuned in..curious to know why u didnt do zcons either?

i already had the 18's layin around lol it will be Zcons down the road or it might just get cwalled with more ICONS!

  3. Ok Well the guys i sold my van to can no longer afford the payments that were agreed upon so it was time to take back what was mine!

With that being said this will no longer even see the street stock class. Right to SS NW I will be running 3 300 amp Singer alternators.

Sub Stage will be 4 18" icons

Amps unknown but may just keep my soundstream 4 channel and 2 channel. as for the mono im still in the air.

Door speakers i have no idea as of yet!

  4. ive had no problems with the battery so far. I also check the temp on it peroidically to see if it feels to hot. I need something quick and for the price I got it for I can beat it. I plan on running several in the long run which if you ever followed my builds theres no such thing as long run. lol

Thought you were taking your time with this build? haha

Right lol one more month with about bass is going to drive me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. trying like hell guys..... some unforeseen stuff happened with my family and i may have to send some funds to an offshore bank account. My cousins son is about 10 months old and some nono kind of stuff happened to him and things need to be dealt with. Will keep you guys informed you have my cell if u want to know more!

  7. with you having to do a bracket for dual alts anyway why not go with Singer Alternators? you can get 350 amp or even the 400 amp then he can externally regulate them for you and you can have the one solid charging unit. from a company that offers and HONORS the lifetime warranty. But with that being said and that should be more than enough but how come you are going with the 2700's? are you trying to burp or just ground and pound? The XP line is great.......

  8. 1st off let me say that a dd1 is not currently available anywhere around me at the moment.

    Great, you don't need it.

And I just got my system installd so I wont be able to afford a dd1 for a month or 2.

Great, then you haven't already wasted money on it. Don't.

Also no shops around me have a scope.

No problem, it wouldn't help you anyways.

So I have to temp DMM set it. Question is ive read alot of people saying to set it to the HU preouts which would be 2volts. Even on volume 29 the gain is pretty much all the way down at 2 volts.

What? You set the output of the amplifier to 2V? They were telling you to set the input sensitivity to the 2V setting....not that that info is necessarily "correct" anyways.

Or do I set it from the watts/ohms chart that ive seen around the web? Which would put me around 38-42volts?

You would set it based on Ohms Law, if you were using the DMM method....which isn't necessary. But even then if you are using a 0db test tone you will end up unhappy with the results, more than likely.

Best to just set it by ear.

Which of the 2 should I go by?

    Neither, set it by ear.

If you absolutely feel you must use a DMM to set the gain, then you would set it according to Ohms Law... sqrt(Power*Impedance) = Voltage

    But, see above.

Also what setting do I set the DMM to, I know its Vac, But is it 200, 2000, ... ?

200, or leave the DMM in the toolbox and set it by ear.

All this plus setting it by EAR!

  9. Got to experience it first hand...... he even offered to bake me Cinnamon rolls lol..... I was like ya no thanks........ he had a helmet that he was wearing that allowed him to see all his cameras lol. He was serious as all could be with this van...... Started it with the remote style setup in the lane and I was watching him meter and didnt even realize he was running the system lol.........

  10. Nice is uber relative there.
