    Lethally Injected MKS

I just ordered 2 15" Lethal Injections for my 2010 Lincoln MKS. I've got the 14 speaker THX sound system in it currently and I just went out today and got quotes for all new full range speakers and amps for it. The stock THX sounds really good but it's just not loud enough for what I'm used to. It was a REALLY tough call between the LIs and the Flatlynes, but after reading some reviews and feedback from other members I'm just not sure that the Flatlynes will have the kind of output I'm looking for. I'll be putting the LIs in a sealed box in the trunk at round 1.5 cubic feet each and 1200 watts to the pair (I will never run any kind of ported setup in any of my vehicles). Originally I was going to go with 2 15" JBL W15GTI MkIIs, but decided I'd give Incriminator a try since I've talked about it for years. Once the LIs come in and I get everything installed I'll post a vid. SOOO excited to FINALLY be joining the Black & Blue.

    15" Lethal Injections

So I bought 2 Incriminator Audio 15" Lethal Injection subs during the Black and Blue Sale and they just got installed today. I'm going to write this review today and update it after the subs are broken in and I've heard them for a few weeks. The Setup: - Sealed box - 1.7 cubic feet per sub - 1500 watt MB Quart amp tuned to about 1200 watts. - In the trunk of my 2010 ecoboosted MKS Music Tested so far: - Brotha Lynch Hung - Siccmade - Hollow Tip - Hoo Ride Attack - Chingo Bling - Rancho En McCallen - The Game - It's Okay - Hed PE - Raise Hell - Deftones - Shove It - Scary Kids Scaring Kids - The Deep End - Slipknot - Wait and Bleed Initial Impressions: Keep in mind that I'm really picky about subwoofers and I have different qualifications for what a "good" sub is than most. So far it's been a mixed bag with the LIs. On the plus side they have a really quick attack time and I'm pleased with how crisp sounding they are and how well they do on rock songs. The long bass riffs on Shove It play very well and the subs have no problem at all separating the kick drums on Wait and Bleed. Also, rap with higher basslines like Rancho En McCallen play VERY loudly and with a lot of authority. On the negative side, the LIs don't play low frequencies with as much authority as I'd like. I often read posts on car audio forums where people say a certain sub "hit the low notes" but I never really believe they listen to low frequencies. Siccmade has a long bassline that drops down to 20 hz at the end. Very few subwoofers I've owned actually hit the low side of this bassline and the ones that do usually can't do it with any authority. The LIs hit the note but not with much authority. Same story on Hoo Ride Attack. I think that this will get a bit better over time after the subs are broken in, but they definitely have their range and the sub 24 hz frequencies are not their sweet spot. I was afraid of this going in since the FS on these subs are above 27 hz, but I took the chance anyway. Overall I'm satisfied at this point. These aren't the best subs I've ever owned, but they are good subs, and the level they play at with only 600 RMS (the way a real sub should be engineered) is very impressive. For the price I paid during the Black and Blue sale it would be hard to match what you get out of these subs. At regular price though, I think I'd spend just slightly more and go with the new Earthquake Magmas or the JBL Mk IIIs. I'll update in a week or two.
  3. I'm looking at maybe picking up the N4 which is Massive's new Nano line. Was wondering if anyone has experience with the Nano line. I've had older lines of Massive amps and I think they are fine, but never tried the Nanos. Wondering how hot they get.

    deathrows in a sealed enclosure?

I wish I would have known people were running Death Rows in sealed enclosures with good outcomes earlier. I would have bought a couple Death Rows instead.

How did you guys find SSA???

Many years ago I used to post of ROE. When SSA came around they started to get pretty popular and finally took over ROE (I think) so I created an account. Then I was out of car audio for awhile and forgot my account so I created a new one.

    IA Death Penalty 12

Man that thing looks like a monster. The Magnet slicing looks like the most innovative way to help out with voice coil cooling I've ever seen.

Very nice shots. What kind of camera were you using?

    Very impressive.

    uber budget speaker find

I actually wasn't aware that the NRT motors were used in lots of other woofers. Do you know what model the TCs are?

12" Subs that excel in 1.75 each

I'm not really sure what kind of power you've got or what your budget is, but if I remember correctly the 12" IDMAX's are recommended to be ported @ 28 hz and 1.75 is perfect. I owned an IDMAX a few years back and they are VERY good subs. Just an idea.

    15" Lethal Injections

Never had a bandpass myself, but I have read that the sound quality out of them can be amazing.

    JBL GTI15 MKIIs

I ordered my 2 15" MKIIs yesterday to replace my 2 15" Lethal Injections. They'll be here Wednesday. So excited, the specs on these seem like some of the most well designed subs I've ever seen. The response curve on these in a sealed box is almost completely flat from 20 hz up to 100 hz. I'll post an initial review shortly after I put them in my box.

    JBL GTI15 MKIIs

Sealed 1.7 cubic feet each, which will be a net of about 1.5 after the subs are installed. I'll do a thorough initial and follow-up review on lots of types of music.

    uber budget speaker find

Man, those are some good prices. Too bad there aren't any more NRT subs.

    15" Lethal Injections

You might be right, but I will never put a ported setup in any of my rides. Why do you make that statement? I have never heard a ported application that I liked (including ones I've built for my friends, and one's I've paid lots of money for on a custom build). Ported applications just don't match sealed applications for range and sound quality in my opinion.

    15" Lethal Injections

Did you try a larger sealed box first?? That would lower the tuning. Yeah, I just don't have the room.

    15" Lethal Injections

Well it's been a couple weeks now and I would say the subs are likely broken in at this point. As I expected, the low end has gotten slightly better with more play. I really love these subs on so many different kinds of music, but overall I guess I listen to too much rap with sub 25 hz basslines and I have decided to upgrade to the JBL GTI MK IIs. The LIs are now on ebay.

    15" Lethal Injections

Yeah, amp is set correctly. My Sub Sonic is at 18 hz. One other thing I've noticed about the LIs is that they have very consistent and good output at both low and high volumes. Some subs I've owned play very quietly unless turned up fairly loud, but the LIs do very nicely at lower volumes as well.

Just wondering what the current wait time is on IA products to ship out with the Black & Blue sale going on.

    Opinions on midbass setup

Yeah, I'm going with what I like either way. I'm just interested to hear how other people prefer to setup their systems.

    Opinions on midbass setup

I'm just looking to hear what other people's preferences are about full range / component speakers. My system is getting installed next week and after MAJOR hassles trying to get Memphis to send the right speakers and amps I'm going with all Infinity (a mix of components, full ranges, and an amp. With 2 15" LIs and cadence amp for bass). I've had Infinity speakers before and liked them quite well for the price, but I hear lots of people say they are too loud on the highs and have no midbass (with a definition of midbass being below 100hz). To me full range speakers should not go below 100hz, and in fact I've often put in bass blockers at the 100hz level. I think a good subwoofer should play up to 120hz - 200hz depending on your setup and preference and the full ranges should take over from there be quite bright above 100hz so as to not get drowned out by bass. What does everyone else like and how have you liked setting up your systems in the past?

    Addictive Audio?

I've owned a pair of their subs but not any amps. The subs are solid products and good quality.

    Lethally Injected MKS

I've got a Cadence Z1200 that I have been using with my Truck and custom built sub. I think I'm going to end up selling my truck anyway and am going to take the Cadence out first and use it for the LIs.
