    Box adjustment

Well chaps I'm not 100% happpy with the SPL of my box, its 16.5cuft before displacement, and tuned onto 30hz, port area is 8.3in^2 per cuft, now recommended space for the subs is 6.5 per driver, and I presume port area should be 10^2inches per cuft, so should I line the entire inside of the box with an extra skin of MDF(flex is another issue except on the front baffle) this will reduce area, and also should I change the port for a larger one on the same tuning?? Any advice greatly appreciated lads

Woofers are AA Mayhem 18's they require 6-6.5 cuft each, Will be looking to see exactly what I can do to increase output before I go at tearing the front baffle off

Did some small testing today, there is 1.1 DB difference between 30-45hz, so box plays good and flat, will be taking it apart though, not happy with the SPL side of it, so I'm going to reduce Box volume, strengthen it, increase port area, add 45's etc etc this should see the SPL increase

Maybe in Cornwall in England its chav's there's well over 100 walled cars in the UK I would think, In Ireland on the other hand, I am one of very few with this level of audio, I think I have walked into the number 3 spot of loudest in the country with this when its finished, which is a shame dude, would love to live somewhere where people dont think I am insane to have this much bass lol bass over here is a 12" bass pack of all 100 watts and 8gauge power wire, I know thats where I started off but thats the limits with people, main thing over here would be drifting and car tuning for draggin, sound is a dying breed but I hope to help build it back up

lol We wont begin to talk about the postage, but long story short, second amp is in cork for the last week!! Lazy Couriers!!!! So collected second amp today, down to Rookies house to hook it up as I left my RCA's in his place, as Marko Said it burped 148 @38hz, loads of work done to the box but a hell of a lot more to do, back wall is flexing crazy so I need to put another 2 skins of MDF on, but its booming and fook me I am happy plays brutal on music which is exactly what I wanted as its not a build for numbers, but for sure there's a 153ish in there somewhere just gotta hunt it out Got some juice in the laptop, gave it one more burp @38 and: so there's defo 3 odd DB left to find some videos soon of the carnage

Another Small Update, Went at sealing up all the joints in the car with P40 Filler, will give this a sanding down and will coat in a layer or 2 of fibreglass as well Just need to measure out my first baffle, and then cut another 2 out of it so my baffle will be 3 X18mm= 54mm thick Also have bracing in the form of 2 M12 threaded bars, not thick enoug but will do for now until I can afford something alot bigger Also squeezed another can of foam into the roof 6days until the gear ladns, its Leaving the UK on Monday :) Some pics: Bought another 2 sheets of 18mm yesterday, so now a total of 5 sheets of 18 and 1 sheet of 12 will be in the car Will have TRD Coilovers in the rear as of tomorrow too so suspension will be 100% as I will be changing arms bushing etc too Have Twin pot brakes too just waiting on Discs and Pads so I can put them on This is coming together at long last More Updates again soon

DROP IN TEST DD vs. Fi

Be an interesting test, Why not have them with matching impedences?? As small a dfference in power will be, its still going to affect the scores IMO, will you be clamping them??
