  1. Just opened her up tonight. I must say, pictures do not do this subwoofer justice!

The build quality is excellent. My first impressions were, DAMN this thing is heavy! I have never really picked up a 15" woofer, but this thing is downright beefy :)

The box it came in was a little beat up from the outside, which worried me enough to not open it for a couple of days....But today i figured what the hell, and opened it. Needless to say I was surprised to find out that everything was in MINT condition :P I will definitely keep the box in case I ever need to ship the woofer back.

From the time I placed the order till it was on my doorstep was ~10 days, although it seemed like 30 :P

I got the Q with cooling and spider option, in hopes of keeping it fine with continuous usage at around 1000rms. I know, kinda overkill but I rather be safe than sorry :Tom:

    enough talking, onto some pictures:

  2. i have a single RL-p12 sub

whats your opinion on a box ( ported or sealed ) also dimensions.

to push sub i got a MTX Thunder 1000d, is this good enough to push this sub? i also dont know what type of connection, sub to amp.

i tried get help locally but they dont know whats a SOUNDSPLINTER.

so basically i need to be educated.

rlp 12 is an nice sub ,for sealed i would prefered 1.25cuft or bigger.ported 1.7cuft or bigger .both sealed and ported box the rlp love it . if you want louder ported is the way to go.

  3. cleaned up this thread.

To answer your question, alot of people have compared our ICON to the FI Q and Jesus Christ himself :)

    lol thanks.

im glad someone answered my simple question.

sorry for getin out of hand 2.

No worries. Some members just want to "correct" people all the time.

how about icon compare to a new SI mag Sub?

  4. I don't compete and would like a SQ/LOUD SOUND QUALITY setup and am having the hardest time designing a box to use.

Obviously Fi recommends a sealed enclosure and that's what I was going to do originally until I started playing around in WinISD.

Now I'm completely unsure so I figured I'd ask you guys.

How do you guys think a 12" Fi Q would sound in a 2.3 cu ft enclosure tuned to 24-25hz as opposed to a 1.3 cu ft sealed enclosure?

I can't upload the WinISD output on my current connection but I will after midnight when I get home.

yo.put it in the ported enclosure .she will love it .gain more output and SQ .i had my Q 12 in the slot port enclosure 1.8cuft tune to 34hz.i love it.

  5. i had put this baby in the sealed box and slot port enclosure .i would said in the ported output was great compare to sealed .

i just got a FI Q12 and was wondering which is better and why... a ported box or a sealed one? i have heard good things about both of them but was wanting some more opinions... thanks

This baby like to seat in the ported enclosure .get very good output & good Sq

And they say English is an over rated class in schools these days
