Review of the Sonic Soundlabs Subsonic10

You are right, SS is nothing like Fi or anything Scott has built or current builds. I actually made the post on SMD, after I had the time of my life reading the old website and tech section. Where it stated every detail made here, yet the main part is just assembled here. How about the packaging? Cause I seen a unboxing video on youtube that didn't hardly have ANY packaging, the little it did have was swimming noodles. Which is fine for individuals to use, but a company that charges +$800 for a single non special sub? And a entry level sub for $250?!?! Damn, is it Gold plated? Jesus, if "hand assembling in the USA" cost that much to do, maybe let china "robot assemble" them. Since it seems SS applies not all subs are HAND built. And to those who think I'm bashing, I don't have nothing to gain by pointing out details about SS. And really my points aren't bias either as I'm not talking about how loud or how good or not they are. Just simple details about the company.

"What Hurts The Most" Bass Remix?

I use Audacity, but I only fool around with it when I'm bored. I've always wanted to do my own versions of songs, just never got around to it. Also, does anybody have Alan Jackson- The Blues Man slowed? I'm talking about the version Loyd(Bigbassman?) Made. **This was my favorite slowed country song(one of my favorite country songs actually)

"What Hurts The Most" Bass Remix?

Oh yeah, I have also. That was a damn good song. Stupid as hell sorta but I'm sure it helped A LOT of people. I'm pretty sure most people on this forum is mainly a fan of music, then that's why we get into car audio. You know people ask random questions like if you could choose to keep either your eyes or ears, which one would you choose. And I think I'm in the low percentage where I don't know if I could live without sound. Thing about it, your eyes don't exactly help you hear, but your ears help you see. Actually, if you can't see, you can hear a lot more cause that's your more focused on that one sense. But if you can't hear, it doesn't help you see better. But memories, I actually store them in all kinds of things. Sounds, clothing, smells(I can't think of another way to describe this at the moment.), and all sorts of things. Its amazing how we do that, and usually is forgotten until presented with whatever it is.

    September Deal from Mechman!

So since Ford doesn't use Hairpin, that means it won't work? Also, I'm looking for a 300+ amp topend, low end just as long as it will keep up with the stock electrical duties. But not looking to spend +$1000. Do yall have any that will fit? Basically looking for a lot of top end and around ~100amps(or less) at idle. This is for a 01 F-250 7.3.

    NeoPro-6.5, 8, and 10 Response Graphs

I need to hurry up and order me a pair before they go up too. 8" or 10"? Decisions, decisions.

    Billet Aluminum Overdrive Pulleys!

Sweet. If I put this on a 01 Ford F-250 7.3, how much would it change my alternator RPM by? Also, pictures would be nice.

Kicker Solo X DISCONTINUED! RIP SOLO X!

Ok. I figured it was something along those lines, just couldn't think of it.

Kicker Solo X DISCONTINUED! RIP SOLO X!

This may be a dumb questions, but I'm not sure what TH is being referred as. Could anybody explain what it means?

    wiring 100.4

No need to have that much power for the tweeters. My personal opinion is two amps. Either a big 2 channel for mids, and smaller one for tweeters. Or keep the 100.4 and buy a 125.2 for tweeters.
  10. Or put in your car as your starting battery and see if it starts your car no problem. I've had a Redtop I could charge to rest at 12.8 for days and days with nothing on it, and once I tried to start my car, it wouldn't even turn the motor over. So that's a prime example resting voltage doesn't always tell you how "good" a battery is.

    Fi's Sub Line-up

How much power are you planning on putting to it?

    Fi's Sub Line-up

well let me rephrase a reconed 12" kove armegeddon Who reconed it? Like what company made the kit?

    Subsonic filter

You have 4000RMS and do not understand how to set a subsonic filter? Fi recommends 2-3hz, but that is just a guideline to go by. Depending on the install, and or the slope of the filter, it could vary.

    Mario from brackets4u@yahoo.com

True, doesn't look like a very experience welder. Not that it won't hold up, because I suck at welding, and rarely have one fail. And honestly, there's nothing special about that bracket, and basically anybody with more than basic tools could make it. As far as strength, its definitely isn't overkill. But I don't see a huge problem in why it wouldn't work. Think about T mount alternators, this just turns a normal mount into it. Actually, GM makes a T mount in that case style, and could of just bought that alternator and not used a poor designed/built bracket.

"What Hurts The Most" Bass Remix?

I'm not just looking for a country song with bass. I actually have memories with the Rascal Flatts song, and I'd rather listen to one with good bass than one without. A lot of times, my brain selects a song to go with memories, and when I listen to that song again, its like I can really remember whatever it was. Wish I could put together all the songs that have more distinct memories. But for the most part, i can only remember the song if I hear it. So unless I replay every song I've ever heard, and take notes, I'd never figure them out. Does anybody do this? Or am I just that weird?

Kicker Solo X DISCONTINUED! RIP SOLO X!

Actually, I would assume Kicker would still offer recones for a little while after. But I would definitely email somebody at Kicker that would know a for sure answer, instead of hoarding recones you may never use. Heck, for the prices of a recone, you can almost buy a new sub from other companies. Also, I'm surprised the Solo X hung on this long actually. I would also assume Kicker has a replacement in the works though. But wouldn't be surprised if they didn't as they don't care much about competing anymore.(Which nobody buys anything based on what the top competitors run like they did back in the day.) So why mass produce a SPL style sub that won't get 1/10th or less of the sales a L7 gets.

"What Hurts The Most" Bass Remix?

See, I listened to the one on youtube, and couldn't decide if that was how the bassline was or not. I'd have to listen to it in a car to determine either way. I'll download it and let you know though.
  18. If the fuse is good and not blowing it, I don't see a problem with a 80 amp. Heck I've clamped over 500RMS from 8gauge and a 30 amp fuse. And I know people who use to compete in MECA when they had the fusing rules, ran a Kicker 2500 on 50 amps of total fusing. There was special ways to make that happen, but that's besides the point.
  19. If he's getting power to his amp, using a DMM won't help because its getting power after the fuse. But a blown fuse can work as a currect limiter in rare occasions. And this could be your problem. Or possible RCA problem, or even a wiring of the subs. Go back and triple check your sub wiring. Or have a friend who is knowledgable in car audio, recheck after you. Sometimes you can check over and over and still miss something yet somebody else spots it right away.
  20. What impedance are you running it at? And decent 4gauge, and semi short run, 10-12ft, will handle ~1200RMS easy.

    Ferrari 430

A lot of people fuck up a lot of cars actually. At least this is a wrap and can be removed. It could be a lot worst, even though I don't see the harm. This is would make a interesting real life Hot Wheels to a kid. And maybe that's the idea behind it? A grown up kid wanted a real life Hot Wheels..

You know, I actually find it quiet unique. Not saying I would personally do it to my car, but its the owners right to whatever they choose. n

    It's been since January..... NOTHING

And it was you that posted: ""I know Troy is a good guy, and I couldn't imagine him just holding money for no reason."" Maybe take your own advise. I know what I said, that's why I replied to your post. I simply said, Troy seems like a good guy, and I couldn't imagine him holding money for no reason. That doesn't mean I was taking up for him, just meant it came as a surprise. And if you don't see it as that your an idiot. Now if I would of said, there's no possible way Troy scammed anybody, and he is a great guy who has kept in contact from day one. I could see somebody having a problem. And maybe I'm not personally in this mess but I know Troy, and the guys 4.3 he was using to make the brackets in questions. If you think I should stay out of it and not help people get the info, fine by me. Maybe you can do a better job.

    Over-exaggeration

That amp is like 1100 rms on the sub channel and the birth sheets usually say around 1200-1250. Ive got one in my trunk. Think those subs with that amp can do 150? If so Im keeping my amp If your talking about the Memphis, those amps are quiet nice. But I doubt it will do a 150, not saying its not possible, but sure ain't as easy as buying a probox and 2 12s. I actually see it being difficult to do a 150 with 1200RMS for the most part. As you and many others know very well, every vehicle is different, one setup in vehicle A could only yield 140db verse vehicle B yielding 146db, etc. Seat positioning, vents closed, window / door positioning will all vary the score. But on to my point, I drive a volvo wagon, seems like an easy car to get loud, maybe it is I have a 8.5cuft ported enclosure with 3 6" aeros, 35hz tuning, 2 15" xcons (subs up, ports back), and using a saz3000d gained down on near stock electrical. I clamped about 1200watts total and only managed a 146.7dB at 40hz. So here you have a "hatch back vehicle", notorious for being loud, a fair amount more cone area then 2 12s, just about the same power, and a nice big efficient box, and I didn't get near 150... Living proof right here. And obviously changes to the box could be made in my setup to improve the score, but were not talking about changing anything here when your talking about using a prefab Living proof? I didn't see any. Ok, I'll go into more detail but I didn't think it was actually called for. Take a CRX, which is known for one of the loudest street cars in the USA. Take a 1200RMS rated amp, not clamped, and a probox with whatever cone area you want. And I bet you can't do a 150 legal in dB drag. I never said it wasn't possible, but following exactly what was posted on Craiglist, would be difficult. And that's not changing the key part, the box. And BTW, I've did a 146.4 in a trunk with half the cone area, and 1/4 of the rated power you have. My point was, sometimes it's not as easy as people think it is to break 150. Apparently you couldn't figure that out from my post. Yeah, I totally read it wrong.
