    PS: May see a new heatsink design for the "Z" series starting with the production release of the SAZ-3000D. I am trying to find a way to further increase thermal dissipation and maintain the classy look we all know.

    You thinking something like the side fins on this DD Z2? Maybe keep the edges square though so all your amps look similar.

    We have had a few ZED customers on the store lately, but I am not sure if they are SSA members or not. I hope to run a Draconia BB and Deuce BB in my SQ install.

    I'm amazed more people don't buy the Zed amps, especially when you consider they are some of the best deals out there for what they cost. Almost everyone who buys one will get another one once they see the quality firsthand though.

    5: Don't like the shadows, would have been a better shot from the opposite side.

    The rest were okay, but 3+4+7 were by far the best.

    With a perfect blue sky like that it looks great to set up a contrast that is very eye catching (shots 3,4, and 7). Shot three is the best in my opinion.

    I really like the screw terminals on the Sundown amps. I hate having to go through a few allen wrenches trying to find the right size for each terminal. Then there are metric and standard allen wrenches which makes it even more of a pain in the ass if they get all mixed together like mine are. :ughdunno:

    You can also crank down on the screw terminals without being afraid of stripping them.

    im on the verge of purchasing my amps for my blaze and wanted to kno wha amp should i run for these comps. ill be runnin 2 sets in my doors. wha amps would be best for these so i can get em to the potential. a 2ch or 4ch? an amp on each set? thanx

    If you are running a pair of components in each door (four sets total), I would recommend the four channel just because it would simplify things.

    What amp(s) are you driving these with?

    I plan on getting a Harmon Kardon 3480 receiver with built in amp to power them (120 watts x2 @ 8 ohms). I'm thinking it will be putting out about 200 watts at 5 ohms. I know they are pretty power hungry, but I'm trying keep this a budget system for now. I can get the HK 3480 for about $250 shipped.

    If you recommend a different route let me know, but I have read a couple positive reviews using that receiver/amp with Maggies.

    Looking at doing a front firing 12" or 15" TC-1000 sealed with a 500 watt amp for the low end.

    I ordered new gray skirts and replacement tweeter wire from Magnepan today. I did get a chance to hook them both up and I have to admit I was surpised at the frequency range on these. They are no slouch with mids and lows and the highs sound amazing. That was being powered by only 100 watts as well, so I'm sure they'll be even better with more power.

    I also got a build date from Magnepan for the speakers, August 1981. Damn things are 25 years old and still look and sound great. :fing34:

    Scored these monsters for $200. They need some work because they were banged up in a move, but after some new cloth skirts, wood work, and paint these bad boys will be rockin. I'm sure they'll also need a wire rebuild kit from Magnepan, but from what I have read that is only about $50. It's going to take a while to get used to a pair of 60" tall speakers in the living room.

    The "IMP" on the rear plates designate these as an "Improved" version of the MG-1's.

    I hear if you use subwoofers in a dipole setup with magneplanars it is next to Godliness, so I'm doing the research on different dipole setups right now and trying to decide which one to use.

    I'm thinking black wood frames with light gray grill cloth for a classy look. Maybe even throw on some spikes, but we'll see.

    Anyways, I pick them up Friday and I can't wait to get my hands on them. :fing34:

    Sweetness!  I'm glad they arrived in one piece.  ;)  'never can tell with these shipping companies now-a-days.

    BTW: The pictures look GREAT!

    Thanks Nick. The chrome makes pictures a little tricky, but there are ways around it.

    Those BM10's are pretty sick. They have all of an inch of cone showing with that monster surround. I love the way they look. :rockwoot:
