  1. That's why it's called an ALTERNATEor ..............the rectifier(diodes) turns the AC to DC
  2. In the alternator. Oh I thought you meant diodes outside of the alt lol. Yeah just switch it to AC I guess. Make sure you use a clamp meter if it's anywhere over like 500 mA or whatever your DMM is rated for.. I was told to set it to ac volts and measure at the bat. Which I did and got .05vac You measured at the battery? Your alt puts out DC volts not AC. Not if a diode is going bad. Alternators put out ac voltage the diodes turn it into dc volts.

    DCON box plans

What happened to the box plans that once were available for download? I am wanting to build a standard single DCON 10 enclosure for my Fi X, but I can't find the plans anymore.
  7. After reading the manual................its not much of a filter anyway.................either fixed at 45hz or 150hz...... I'll just let HU do the filtering.............
  8. I have an older(99-01timefame) lil wonder 4 that I have misplaced the crossover/filter sip chips for. Does anyone know if they are an electronics supply house item or will I need to contact Soundstream to replace them?
  9. Thanks.............I know they have changed hands since then...........that is my major concern.......I have an email into Soundstream about the availability of the chips............I may just let the hu do the hi pass and leave it at full range.........is going in a small build for my knock around car.........just using stuff I have laying around...

    Help! Screws keep backing out!!

The nickle plating on those screws are actually helping them turn........nickle is VERY slick......try the next size larger in a COARSE thread drywall screws......or just use bolts with nylock nuts.......

    Dcon popping noise.

Which sub is it?----in relation to port wall... It is possible that the driver closest to the port opening is unloading due to the wall not being fully behind the driver...

    X 10"s sealed-----how low will they go??

Yep........left Las Vegas at 4pm yesterday!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!
  15. Does anyone know what the F3 for a pair of X 10's sealed in 1cft will be? Will be at 800~900 wrms for the pair. I listen to metal-hard rock, with the occasional techno/hiphop just for show off. Trying to save some space and these woofers call for some tiny sealed numbers so I think this is the way to go.

    X 10"s sealed-----how low will they go??

Drivers ordered, waiting patiently. What does the backlog look like? Ordered 11/30 processed 12/01. Invoice number I-17160/00. I know you all are BUSY and they are WELL worth the wait, just curious on lead time.

    Small enclosure sub options....SEALED

Fi x series........ .75cu ft is actually over-sized......available in a single 2ohm under rated @ 400wrms.....$109 plus shipping.....WAY more sub than ANY other sub in their price range..... SSA D-CON is another option. .....more oriented to ported box though

    speakers of different watt rms

If wired in parallel the load will be 2ohm. Both speakers will see the same power......dependant on install and whether or not your amp is 2ohm stable.......could be a good or bad idea......you will not be able to cross the bass out of the 3.5 without an external crossover of some kind.......

    X 10"s sealed-----how low will they go??

Thanks for the quick response!!! Would have NEVER expected to hear you give a response figure down to 20 in a sealed box!!!!! If they will give decent output from the mid-30Hz and up range I will be BEYOND pleased....... Given that they will be in a sealed alaignment is the BP option going to be needed??? Or will the lack of "fresh" air defeat the purpose anyway? Also, will the drivers be happier in a twin chamber or single chamber box??
  20. I'm considering building a down fire for 2 D-CON 10's. Will be subs down, port back, box against back seat. Going in a Land Rover. I only cosider this because I do use the cargo area often and want keep the subs out of harms way. My question is how much room do I need between the floor and the woofers???? And should I just elevate the box by the end plates or do a 3sided lift leaving only the rear open???? Or is it a bad idea all together???? Is a daily thumper setup.......just want to keep my investment safe.
  21. I have decided to go with 2 sets of Iseries comps and a 10" DCON for drivers. I will be running all off of a SAX 100.4. One set each on channels 1&2 with the sub bridged across 3&4. My question is which of the 3 box designs in the download section will be best at this power level(320wrms)? It will be for daily use with no intentions of competeing. My music tastes are metal/rock with the occasional hip hop/thecno thrown in for showoff purposes. Thanx for any help/info.

need with box size for 10" DCON

Yeah........didn't see the icon designation on the 1.35ft plans. Thnx for the clarification.

need with box size for 10" DCON

That's just it......there are 2 listed as optimal.......which one are y'all refering too??? Will be built for sub up port back BTW. Its a small size difference......only like 1.5" more on depth mesurement. Or is the 1.25ft the optimal anthe other should be listed a large?

need with box size for 10" DCON

It's going in a '99 Land Rover Discovery. So there will be little to no fab work other than the box. All four doors have comps from the factory. 3way in front. Plan to just leave the 2" at the top of the front doors where it is and dead and put tweets in the existing A-pillar pockets. I'm lucky that the factory 6.5s are in very nice enclosures, not just stuck in the door panels. Those factory mids try to dig down......they just don't have what it takes anymore.

need with box size for 10" DCON

There are 2. 1.25ft. And 1.4 I think is the larger
