    strapped down enclosure

yay i found a way to make it very solid tight to the seats its sitting on without drilling holes in the seats lol. thanks anyways. i smacked my self for not thinking of this befor.
  3. will there be any difference in sound if my sub box is not extreemly tighly stapped down to be seat.? i can get it to where it stays in one spot but due to position and size i would have to drill holes through my seats to make it rock solid strapped down.

IB is just a giant sealed box right? wouldnt i do IB by making a wall seperating the back of my truck from the front. now if i made that wall i would loose vision out of my back winow ( i have a z71 etra cab truck)

wouldnt sealed drop off in the lower end though, making it unflat. IB sounds interesting, but i need to see out my back window.

    nice midrange

im getting ready to slowly upgrade to a 3-way diy setup. i got midbass and tweets and i wanna make midbass in 2-way setup just the lows like 80-500 and then get a very nice midrange . partly becuase i wnana amke my kickpannels smaller and get a driver with nice off axis responce. my limit is around 50 per speaker and i want 4-5.5 inch through other forums ive limited down to these 2 but they arent helping me much decide which of these 2 i should get. VIFA P13WH-00 5" WOOFER http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...r=297-302&DID=7 AUDAX HM100C0 4" CARBON FIBER WOOFER http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...tnumber=296-053 im really not expecting low end from these as i said, but i would like to get somehting that responds nicly up to a go0d 5k or so so i can cross my tweeter high to minimize distortion at high volumes, my tweeter is lpg26na. in my opinion midrange is very very important to how a system sounds so i just want extreemly nice midrange. anyone have opinions on these 2 midranges??

    Midrange!

yeah i know this i the SI subforum but since i own a magnum and want to mae my whole system sound great with the magnum i figured id give this A SHOT. im getting ready to slowly upgrade to a 3-way diy setup. i got midbass and tweets and i wanna make midbass in 2-way setup just the lows like 80-500 and then get a very nice midrange . partly becuase i wnana amke my kickpannels smaller and get a driver with nice off axis responce. my limit is around 50 per speaker and i want 4-5.5 inch through other forums ive limited down to these 2 but they arent helping me much decide which of these 2 i should get. Midrange!

wel after lots of thought and research im gunna grab maxfidelity tweets, and the via p13 midrange. i got perless csc-x 6.5 for midbass but i might swap my bro for his vifa MG's ( 7 inch) for midbass. whats the difference between crossing midbass at 250 rather than around 500 for midbass? i wanna keep those midranges at around 250 lowest t think. i heard bass output isnt very good on them. so higher cross midbass prob the better. i duno ill find out when i get them

    Mounting depth question??

3 inches! would it be ok to stretch that to 2 inches( for a 12 inch) my box design only has aboout 2.1 inches behind the sub.
  13. hey lets get some excursion pics and videos of thos new mag 15's. and 12's when ya get them

    New: SI 302 Comp Set

yes its autosound version, if you had to compare the 302's tweeter to something what woud best compare to it in your opinion?
  16. hmmm...

    New: SI 302 Comp Set

hows that component set compare to stuff like the vifa speakers and peerless speakers. right now i got 6.5 inch peerless csc-x and lpg tweeters, and im thinking about switching them over to max fedelity tweeters with 7 inch Vifa MG's. will the 302's be able to outperform both of those setups? hopefully they can ( so i can run a full SI speaker car)

    Win ISD file

can anyone email me a Win Isd file for a 15 inch and 12 inch magnum at fenderhelecaster@aol.com please. and can you tell me if WinIsd is accurate wth magnums. i know with the ED A series subs it seems to be off. im using pro alpha edition. thanks
  19. hmmm...

    Win ISD file

i think the file you sent me nick must hve been for the wrong version. its telling me in a sealed box at 1.5CF it has an F3 of 56 herts. thats gotta be wrong.

    d2 compared to brahma mkII

whats transparent mean when refering to sound?

    low end comparison

ok ill use mdf then. he didnt say mdf is bad he just said that plywood and somehting of that sort would be much stronger than mdf which is very understandable. but if everyone goes mdf im sure its strong enough for subs. if i use 3/4 inch mdf should i use 1 brace or 2 braces. the ones im using are those ones that look like big hollow sqaures that touch all 4 sides of the box. i have 9.5 inches of depth in the box with my current designs so im sure i can get 2 in there... the braces are also 2 inches thick in hight and 1 inch thick in wideness. is that thick enough? with my newly designed box using 3/4 inch wood i have 1.42 cubic feet with 1 brace and like 1.38 with 2 braces. could someone please tell me how many cubic feet the 12 inch magnum takes up so i can add that into my calculations. i wanna make sure i got the amount of airspace in the box i want as close to 1.3 cubic feet as i can get. becuase 1.3 cubic feet after displacement is what i was recomended at sounddomain for this driver with 1000 watts rms behind it. does that sound right?
  22. hmmm...

    low end comparison

well as long as birch is better i dont care. 40 bucks for a big sheet aint gunna kill me. but if mdf is better ill go mdf

    how to fire my subs

i measured my truck dimensions for where sub will go. ( i cant fit that 15 inch so i guess im going 12 well with my space requirements i can either fit the sub firing downwards or firing forwards/backwards. the problem is its a tite fit so if i build it to downfire it wont fit if i face it forwards, forwards wont fit firing downwards. which way should i face it? what differences will forwards or downwards have. i refuse to face it upwards becuase my luck ill drop something right on it. and i cant find any nice grills for high excursion subs.

    12 or 15's?

well. i was going to get a 12 inch d2, but then i heard about those darn 15's. i dunno what to do. ayone know how a 15 compares to a 12 d2? my only reasoning for going to the 15's would be to get louder, and deeper. box size cant get much bigger than about 2.5 cubes, sealed.
