  1. Tight is a descriptor that means something different to everyone. Impressing people is also a rather obtuse description as what would impress me is to have the sub blend perfectly with the front stage.

lol what do want to hear? hahaha

  2. You didn't tell us what you were looking for, only a music type. Considering I guess you will only get personal preference applications and not specific ones for you, in that case definitely the 3 10's sealed.

i guess i am looking for tight bass and sometimes impress some people. currently running a audiopulse revo 15 and i love everything about it. but i always like to try something different.

  3. looking to try something different.

    3 rl-i 10s will be in a sealed box.

the rl-p 15 will be ported.

i have a dls A6 amp to power which ever i go with. it does 1200wrms at 1ohm.

music preference is heavy metal, trance, and jazz/rock.

  4. 1.5-2 for the pair should be about right.

    how goes the rl-s chad?

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

thanks. i think we gonna do 2.4 cuft. hope it sounds good.

not using the rl-s right now. got a audiopulse revo15 in trunk. same family of sub though:)

  5. my friend bought a sound splinter rl-i 10 the other day from someone. and now he is going to order another one from sound splinter so he can have a pair of those subs.

we are going to build a ported box. so how many cu ft is good for a pair of rl-i 10s in a ported box?

  6. you know, i don't know if there is anything left to be said about mike. he is truly the man when it comes to customer service.

many kudos go out to mike for establishing and then maintaining that same level of customer service from the beginning. my original rl-p purchase was an awesome experience, one i wouldn't trade for the world.

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

ahhh the man who got me to buy the rl-s. thanks again for the recomendation. lol. god i love these subs. now that i got 2 its loud at the same time super clean. i still can't believe how lowwwww these hit.

  7. i recently bought another sound splinter rl-s. i have both of them in a 4 cuft sealed box powered by a mmats d3500.1. they sound awesome.

what else is awesome is that i asked mike if he could personally delivered the sub to me and he did. when he brought the sub i was like damn i got my sub delivered by the owner of the company. how awesome is that. lol.

anyways my car sounds awesome and i will have vids soon.

  8. lol.

i will be buying another rl-s soon. i will attempt to fit a 5-6cuft box in the trunk of my honda accord. if it doesn't then i am using one for my home theater. the amp to power this for home is going to be expensive though.

  9. also to add to my review.

i put the port in there and started to listen to it. the port is tuned to 28hz. it sounds good on alot of the rap songs but on rock and trance, i noticed that the lower frequencies were really coming out strong. it was getting kinda annoying cause it didn't sound too natural. so today i took the port out and cut it so now it is tuned to 34hz. after doing that i finally got the sound i wanted. i mean i am in love with this thing. i guess the car accoustics has lot to do with it cause lower tuning didn't sound right in my car. i have a accord coupe so the cabin isn't so big.

all in all i love this thing and I AM A stick with this sub. i used to run 2 btl 15s in my car so i know what loud is. i just want clean sound.

also I AM A get the mmats 3500.1 to power this sub. that way if i ever decide to run another rl-s, i am covered. :)

here are some pics of the install.

  10. just wanted to add my little review after listening to it for a week in a sealed box.

normal music.......the bass just blends with my component up front nicely. it almost sounds like they are as one. the bass don't over power them and is very musical.

rap/hip hop..........the bass really comes alive. it feels and sounds very nice. it fills the whole car with clean and crisp bass. what is really amazing is how flat the frequency response is. not one note is louder than the other.

    i give it A++++++++++++++

thanks mmray aka kent for recomending such an awesome sub.

  11. thanks guys. I AM A look in to that sundown.

also the thing is i only have a 260a ho alt and i don't want to run a large amp that will require a second battery.

also mmray, one sub is plenty. this rl-s is a beast. i ain't going for loud anymore. my bassracing days are over. lol.

i just looked at the sundown saz and it only does 800wrms @ 4ohms.

  12. i am looking for an amp to power my rl-s 12. i had the kicker sx900.1 bridged but it ain't working out for me. so i moved that amp to my components and i borrowed my friend's jl 1000/1 for now. it hits nice and clean. but i want a little more power.

here are some amps i was thinking of........

    mmats 2100.2 1550wrms @ 2ohms

    kicker zx1500 1500wrms @ 2ohms

    jl 1000/1 1000wrms @ 1.5-4ohms

kicker zx2500.1 2500wrms @ 2ohms (not sure if i want to run that much power)

are their any other amps that will work perfectly with this sub?

  13. i want to know how everyone that has a rl-s is running their subs. like what are your box specs and how much power are you giving it or them?

i just ordered the rl-s 12 and i will be using a kicker sx900.1 to power the sub. not sure on the box specs yet. it will be sealed for sure though. before i start on my box build, i just want to know what kinda box everyone with the rl-s is using.
