  1. Just to make sure I understand :

    1) How many Z v.3 12s do you have ? Just one ?

    2) If you have just one woofer... you are in the region we suggest for TWO Z v.3 12s in a ported box with 3.7 cubes. You are using nearly 4x what we would suggest sealed for a single Z v.3 12" but I would really not suggest sealed as optimal as you will have a lacking bottom end compared to a woofer better for sealed and/or this woofer ported.

These have very powerful motors geared towards ported and they will move ALOT in a super large box, especially sealed where there is no port to restrict movement around tuning.

sorry to thread jack. but while we are still on topic i have two q's for you. are the stock Z v3 coils 3" or 4"? and can you fit a 4" voice coil of a Nightshade?

  2. old thread but hey what gives but anserws right!! ^^ thread jack again lol! so right now i have an extra batt in the back i only have a ru of positive to the back and the batt in the back is grounded to my frame its ok right? just of course there is good ground/conductivity in the back right ? i also heard when connectiong a batt from front to back in parallel it creates a diff load or amperage can someone explain?? and hows your system doing OP?? did everything work out for you?

  3. It's a 12" Fi Q. I saw a few vids on youtube and tried looking through the forum, but couldn't find anything. I know i've seen something before, but couldn't find it now. I still need to order a recone kit. I just haven't been motivated to do anything about it. I have a bunch of dead stuff that i never bother to fix :(

well how many times have you tried doing it?? ive also seen some youtube vids which it doesnt look hard at all

  4. We use a high output stator with our high output rotor to build these units. With the right components there is no need to go with a larger case, in fact we build some units that are physically 20% smaller and put out more power. It's all in the design.

i definetly got a good deal!! works fine and well! glad it fitted real good! at first my rpm was below 500-700 but because i needed to upgade the belt so after doing that my rmp went back to normal 800-1000 nice HO aLT here!

  5. I may be wrong but the actual winding pattern is different. Yours also has a good amount of copper in it, it's just layed against itself rather than "S" wound. I figure they can get more output in a smaller case keeping the "O.E." fitment than bumping up to a larger case.

I may be entirely wrong but maybe someone with knowledge will explain it better.

    Badass Alt OP!!!!! :dancing:

yea its definetly keeping up with the demand my lights dont dim out and i stay around 13v n 14v im upgrading to bigger amp so will see how it would do after making that change. and about almost the same size as the O E alt what your saying about they putting more output while keeping it almost the same size is true then thats great i would have to clamp it to see how many amps im getting out of it(not doubting mechman) but yea he should chime in and explain to us the facts
