I plan to change my mid mount base soon. I will post the build from start to finish. We are using the same truck is why I posted in this thread.

I put a 1/2 inch plywood panel inside my door as big as possible with a 1/2 inch baffle on the outside. They still flex the interior door panel. I added closed cell foam behind the panel but it still rattles some. I want to bring the mids out even with the door panel with a 1/2 inch thick speaker grill over them & the tweeter. I have some good grill cloth that matches the black on my seats & door panels.The mount will be teardrop shaped with the small end down. I've put lots of thought into how to build these. We had 40 days of over 100 degrees this summer. I couldn't see building till it cooled off. The extra plywood should stiffen the door. I can make the bottom piece big & glue & screw it in place to make it strong.

I have 2 5 inch porter cable orbitals that are 20 years old. One just froze the lower bearing. The other needs brushes. I bought a Ridgid 5 inch variable speed random orbit for a replacement. It works good & the variable speed is great. I have brushes ordered for my old Porter Cable. I'm a trim carpenter. I use a sander more a year than most people. I have a Porter cable pad sander & a 3x21 PC sander also. I've had these units so hot I had to wear leather gloves to hold them. Great sanders IMO. My PC stuff was built in Jackson Tn. I don't know if the new stuff is as good.

I built one for my 95 F250. I used 2 JL w3 dvc 10s in 1/2 cubic ft chambers sealed. I fired them down. Up front bass is great. I ran a MTX 2300 on them with Boston 6.5 mids & tweets. I plan to build one for my 04 F250 4 door. I will use one 12 ported. I wanted a Exodus audio shiva 12 but they are gone. I will build the box once I have the sub for it. Console sub boxes rock. My old F250 had plenty of bass & it was up front in your face.

I have the Exodus mids in my Ranger. I really like them but I have to bring them through the door panel. I just can't seem to stop the rattles & I would like to be able to pop the speaker grill & show them off. I plan to change to Dayton silk dome tweeters at some time so I'll build my mounting block to fit them too. The Exodus mids really get loud. I'm giving them 125 watts at 8 ohms. My door panels flex with the music & keep getting new rattles. Its cool enough to work on the truck again. I'll post the build.

I almost bought the Incriminator Li sub instead. I may wish I had. I just don't know

I just installed 1 Skar vvx 10 in a ported box tuned to 30 hz. I have 500 watts going to it. Its good & loud for 1/10. It goes real low & sounds great IMO. I'd like 2 but I don't have space for them in a Ranger. The 1 is plenty loud for my SQ setup.

I have 1/10 in a ported box tuned to 30 hz. Its real loud. Its louder than the 2/19 Walmart 10 subs the kids here have. I use a JL Audio 500/1 to power it. It shakes the Ranger I have a lot. You can't see in the mirrors with it slamming. I like it. I just bought a Skar vvx 10. It is louder than the e5.10 I had. I'll break it in & see how loud it really is.

I have a small system. Its a SQ system. Its in a Ex cab Ranger edge. I did the big 3 & have o wire running ti the rear. My amps are in the jump seat space. My ported box fills the rear area. I'm running a 3 way active system using the crossover in my HU. I know some will knock my mids but I like them. They fill the truck with sound. They almost replace a sub. My Skar vvx 10 came in Thursday. I installed it in a 1.25 ported box tuned to 30 hz. It sounds great. Much better than the e5.19 I had. It couldn't handle the JL Audio 500 I use. The Skar lets me bring the amp up to the point that it puts out its max power before clipping. I was running it a quarter turn less to keep from blowing the e5.10 I'll break it in & see how it sounds.
