whichever you guys think would be best suited. the problem were having with tinsels is them burning up. If you guys think woven would be better than the btl leads we'll go that route.

i used a pca1500 last season for some local low power classed shows, and loaded down it gave me over 1600 watts on 12v system. they are solid amps

  10. the crossover and eq on the 791 are good, and if they put the xover and eq of the 891 in the 792 its VERY good.

    Initial SPL 12 SPL testing

can you explain the 1.2 db gain and lower reactive load when using the cactus? True they may have common components, but then most amps this size do. Dont think im saying the 500.1 is not a good amp, it was great and it never let me down, i did head to head testing of the 500.1, z1 (not z1A), soundstream xxx6500, and the cactus 5kw. The order of lowest to highest spl were as follows xxx6500 150.4 db ab 500.1 150.8 db DD z1 151.6 db Cactus 5kw 151.98 db as you can see, since you know your amps, the cactus and the atomic are practically the same amp but the atomic is about half the price since its based in north america. Neway if the 2 are the same as you say, why were my results so different between them? I have an idea why, but id like to hear what you think. but i think this would need a new thread lol.

uhhh yeah, they are both zenon based amps but do not share the same board LOL ever look at roe dude? 500.1 Atomic d5000.1 similar in that they both have caps coils fets transistors and heatsinks, different in that they dont share a board. Sorry for the hijack man, it was never my intention.

    Initial SPL 12 SPL testing

in my initial testing with the cactus 5kw which is basically the same as the atomic 5000, i found a 1.2 db gain in straight drop in test against the 500.1 so there are more than slight differences between them

you still drive a neon.. so in my books, you're just like kevin miranda lol i might drive a neon, but its not just any neon, its the loudest street A trunk car in history And you cant compare me to kevin... Im loud LOL

i wasnt directing it at you or anyone in particular, it was a general comment to ppl who seemed to be taking what ive been saying the wrong ways, but meh whatever, good luck with your product mach5. I look forward to going head to head with one of these subs.

do you guys not understand that im not putting down the tests? how many times do i have to say it. don't be so defensive lol. the stratus is also know to be a loud trunk. but hey if you wanna keep thinking im bashing in ahead. but why don't you read the last sentence of my previous post first. id love to drop this sub in my car and see what it does since its right on par with the mt in the tests. pull your heads out and see that i've said this sub gas more potential than there tests showed.

    Initial SPL 12 SPL testing

i figure half the power because i don't have the atomic in my hands yet so im going off my results with my ab 500.1 in which i was getting about 2800 watts measured ran off a 12 volt setup in my 96 neon trunk car off a single nsb 75 battery legal street a setup sealed on the dash at 46 hz i did 150.8 db. this is why i feel this sub has alot more potential than the initial testing showed and why i asked for the additional testing. no doubt its performing i just want to see what its full potential is. props to stratus for some good testing.

if it did as good as these test say it will, id probably pay a discounted price to keep it, but i dont expect anything for free, our friend snoop pretty much destroyed any chances of that happening lol

    Initial SPL 12 SPL testing

Post dump ? sorry i tried to contribute to this thread seeing as i was using a Single 12" sub same amps / w- matching power give by the tester. was unaware this was a Mach only discussion... yall used subs other that Mach so i just assumed it was an open conversation. if you would like to send me a Mach 12" sub i would be happy to build a box for it and put it aginst everything in the Dallas - Ft Worth area... and kick @ss with it im sure. post the T/s for the SPL 12" and ill design you a boxx that will Hammer the competition into summission LOL same for the Ontario Canada scene, ill compete in the db drag, and cspl shows with your sub, get it out there cause there is ppl here interested in it but no one has seen it, at the end of the season ill send it back to ya. This sub sounds like itll perform well in a box built for an MT so i should easily be able to get mid 51's out of it in my trunk in street A given that it has the proper coil config. This would be a great oppertunity to show what it can do in db drag. Now do i expect you to take me up on the offer? No i dont, but its out there for your consideration. There are a lot of new subs coming up in ontario alone, dont miss the oppertunity.

I think a SAZ 3000d @ 17.7v is about as real as it's going to get, 5k on a 12" sub is Gorilla Pimpin A real spl environment doesnt mean tons of power, it means in an spl built box, in an spl car. 146db-148db off 5000 watts isnt a real spl environment. Its loud yes but it should be WAYYYYYYYYYY louder. Its impressive that the sub took it, id just like to see what its FULL potential is in a burp mobile specifically built for this sub. It shouldn't be WAYYYYYYYYY louder, given the circumstances. This was done in a trunk car, seats up, sealed on the dash. This happens to be the rules in the class I compete in NSPL. For the car and situation, the scores are most impressive. For example, the loudest that's been done in my class is a 153.0, which was a pair of 15's on 4 Stetsom 2K6's..... Kind of puts it in a different light, huh? If you would like, I will put it in my truck, where the frequency is 68hz, and let it rip a few times. The numbers will be up, yes, but my car is more of a stable platform, the freq stays the same, and it reliably puts up good numbers out of the trunk. no it doesnt put it in a different light, and im not saying he's not a real spl competitor. Im also a competitor, with a trunk car. But what do i know right? I didnt goto db drag finals and compete in street A in 07. No i know absolutly nothing lol. Come guys, theres no insults here i just wanna see what this subwoofer is capable of in an install thats completly built and proven. Next time im testing ill try it with the seats up and see what number i can do, mind you have half the power he's running. But we'll see, any chance you can do some tests with the seats down, you know db drag style?

its interesting that all the subs peaked at the same frequency in your car, in my car i lost HUGE doing a straight drop in of a 9512 into my MT's box due to one playing port and the other playing excursion, the 9512 did not like my enclosure at all.
  25. I used an x791 for the better part of last season to compete in db drag. Its a great deck with all the features you need. I now use an x891, has a few more features and its a bit prettier. 5v preouts and RDS and that kinda thing. Over all i am very happy with the 791 and 891 and i bet the 792 is even better. I love having the usb on a pigtail off the back of the HU, it makes for a much cleaner look than having it on the front. and the 3.5mm aux input on the back is also a great feature. My only complaint is that it wasnt compatable with my changer lol.
