  1. i would wait. i have a Fi 15' loaded, and im upgrading from a memphis to sundown 1500D soon......and from what ive seen sundown do, its definitely worth the wait.the Fi can be alot louder with the 1500 so thats what i say. cause theres no point in getting a 1200 even if u think u want the 1500. get what i mean?

I would also recommend that you wait and buy a 1500, they are fantastic amps and are rock solid. The 1200 is discontinued as well. Go with the 1500...

  2. Anyone waiting on e-mail replies I am a bit behind :) Be patient!

    Thanks,

That right there ^ is good customer service. :fing34:

Also, I would add, if you are from the Great white north (Canada) You can email me any questions and I will get back to you as well. I am the exclusive distributor in Canada. smartass@bell.blackberry.net.

I carry my blackberry on me at all times!

  3. Less than two weeks remain for sale pricing.

As always, you Canadian distributor is willing to work with the people from canada on pricing.

I will price match if you are willing to cover the border fees.

    email me: smartass@bell.blackberry.net

  4. I can get on it. For anyone still getting the other page hit your refresh button so it will load the newest site.

I can log into the FTP just fine, was just doing some minor updates on the Canadian page.

As for the person who was talking about an update, I have been working on one for a little bit now, but I have been busy over xmas and suck. I am going to try and make it a little easier to nav and streamline a few things.

Not sure when it will be 100% done though and I wont release my test page to Jake until it is 100% complete.

  5. If anyone has questions about products, there are many reps who are knowledgeable about his product lines and can make recommendations and suggestions as well as answer questions. 2 prime examples would be Denim and myself.

  6. What's your impedence after box rise? And what type of electrical have you done?

I'd assume you've done a bit of upgrading if you ran the goliath.

im not sure how how i mesure after the box rise. when the subs are in the box thay are .70 ohms at the amp, i have a 200 amp alt, and 3 yellow top batts

IMHO 3000D all the way. They are not prone to breaking for no reason and Jake has about the best customer service in the industry...

  7. would running a pair for strapped SAZ1500D's be enough power. i guess i could wait the extra few weeks to make some money to go ahead and get them. im really considering maybe doing that. but i have to get the BTL, no doubt about it.

No love for the 3K here...

3 k would be better then 2 strapped 1500's IMO. And should be a touch cheaper. Talk to denim.

  8. there is a difference between not being warrantied under .5 ohms and not being stable at .5 ohms...

this amp CAN go down to .5 ohms but will not be warrantied at that impedance...

    As far as electrical

you will need at LEAST one of the following (both would be better)

a 200 amp alt or an extra battery (like a kinetik or powermaster)...

One of the guys who works with me in edmonton is running one at .5 ohm daily on a 105 amp alt and a redtop. It runs fine, never gone to protect. They are correct in saying that the amp will not be warrantied, but it is stable at .5 ohms.

However, that said, if you are gonna upgrade your batteries and alt anyways, why not just pop a 3100 under the hood, backed by a 200 amp alt and give the BTL what it really wants...a SAZ-3000D?

  9. Well what if I decided to spend the extra to buy the BTL fully loaded, this might be an option at the moment, I know it could handle the 3k but if I have the BTL im gonna hunger for more power sooner or later.

So if I do decide to do this what would I have to do with electrical in you opinion, would a 200 250 amp alternator and 2 batteries work? Or do you think I really don't need that much?

I am still going through hell trying the right comp set to go with my 100.4 Sundown, I would like to get 6.5's.

I found a Head Unit that seems to have all I want. Tell me what you think of it.

I would recommend that if you are going with a 3000D, you look at minimum a 200 amp alt and a strong starting and back battery. If you are going with a 1500D, usually the Big 3 is enough assuming you dont have a crappy stock alternator.

  10. Well, for all the Canadian people, JordyO from CCA did some testing on a pair of Sundown 1500's this week.

Ok... so here we go, same setup as before. A strapped pair going to my dual 4 Ohm Kicker L7's... with the amps seeing 1 Ohm nominal.

Voltage dropped to 11.2v from 13.9

    Current: 31.2a

    Voltage: 98.2v

    Wattage: 3063.84w

    Impedance: 3.14 Ohms

So... with each amp seeing just a hair over 1.5Ohms and running on 11.2v they were putting out 1532 watts.

I'd say they make their power and a good bit more when they see 1 Ohm at 12v.

And he did a drop test 2 sundown 1500's vs a stetsom 5k at a competition:
Yup... on a straight drop in test (in the middle of a show actually) ... my score jumped from a 149.3 to a 149.9 just by switching from a Stetsom to the pair of Sundowns.

In defence of the Stetsoms they are definitely built for 16v (as we have been starting to learn) ... but they're still supposed to do 5kw at 12v. I'm thinking it's much less than that due to their inefficiency though

    Thanks Jordy!
