    Subwoofer choice help needed!

Tundra access cab. Can only take up the rear seat all the wY to the left. So i probably could fit 2 12s but not comfortAbly... With a good size box anyways... My box now is pretty big.. Definatly couldnt fit 2 of them in there. But prob $300 budget max... Perferably less but possibly 300. So i was thinking one 15 would be very impressive looking... But 2 10s should be louder and move more air...
  2. I currently have one x12 running on 400rms in a ported box tuned around 33 or so. I amhoping to purchase a hifonics brutus brz.1800 and i would like to increase my cone area aswell. I just dont know whether a ssd15 probably stock no upgrades.. Or 2 x10s when they come out... I would port it either way. And im hoping id have room... I would make my own box and id just make it fit... So what do you think? 10's or one 15? Btw imnot 100% set on fi... Just i do have experience and i was very happy. But if anyone has any other ideas pleas let me kknow! Sorry for bad spelling... Im on my ipod.
  3. I had the same thing happen with my system. I sent my headunit in to be checked.. Its being repaired right now.
  4. So should i just try to run the power wire along the center console?
  5. I am planning to upgrade my power wire to 1 awg sgx or sxg... Idk which it is... But i cant find anywhere to get the bushing through the firewall. And i dont think this size wire will fit under the trim pannel on the floor along the doors... How should i run this size wire? I have a 2006 tundra access cab. There is a center console in the middle that i may be able to use to help hide it. It is going just directly behind the drivers seat. I already have a hole in the firewall for the 8awg all the way to the left side so it is pretty straight from batt to the rear any help is better than nothig. Thanks
  6. Thank you. So when i get the wire bring in a small piece to homedepot and make sure it fits
  7. Ahhh iv never heard of menards... But where does the seatbelt wires go through the floor?
  8. I am planning on buying the hifonics brutus brz1700.1d for around 200 bucks. I will be only using it at 4 ohms for the time being untill i recone my subwoofer to single 2 ohm then ill run it at around 900rms. And if i ever end up going to a comp ill turn it up more. But what other amps should i be considering in that price range and power range? Btw i have stock alt in a 06 tundra and stock battery 4 awg wires... Will this be enough to power this amp? I can probably get 1/0 or 2 awg if i need to but as you can tell im not rolling in money.. Any comments, criticism, jokes... Its all welcome
  9. Well how should i tune it? Osciliscope? Thats the thing with the waves right?
  10. I believe that the brz puts out a bit more power at 2 ohms 1200 rms and 600 at 4 ohms. Hopfully recone soon. But how come with a dmm you dnt get as much power?
  11. The recone would be about 60 or 70 but id like to do it mySelf just for the experience. But its my b day soon and im asking my parents for the amp.. Loli dnt rly have the money for it. Haha 17 no job... But idk, how much could i get for my x12?...
  12. Btw i guess its only an 80 amp alternator. Is that big enough for 1200 rms?
  13. Its for an x12... But ik its over powering it... But the amp is right around 210 shipped. And i only run it for maybe 10-15 mins at a time. Ill use a dmm to set the gains and everything. There shouldnt be any clipping at all. On the weebsite it says something about tighter bass at 4 and 2 ohms than 1 ohm... Why is that?
  14. Thats prob not a bad idea. But im my truck the back speakers are maybe about a foot behind me if that far. But idc about fading. I have kicker 6.5 ds doors. But just because ill have alot of wires and because its an access cab so the door opens the other way.
  15. I havent really heard much about wiring full range speakers. I am hoping to get a new amp for my sub and i was wondering if i could wire both my front and back door speakers with my 2 channel powerbass asa 400.2 it should put out about 200 rms times 2 at 2 ohms and i didnt know if you could wire door speakers together or not.... I just havent heard anything about it. My reasoning is because they have to direct the freq to two different places so idk if both speakers would get all the signal... Lol its a noob question i know...
  16. Alright i just wanted to check to be sure. Just full range speakers seem to be alot more "technical" than a sub. And i didnt wanna waste my time figuring out how to wire the back doors in my truck... But thankyou very much

    Psi platform 1 12 inch

Does anyone have any experience with this company or their products? I was thinking about putting this in a bedroom... I have no idea about home audio. Ik it is alot different than car audio... But this is cheap with a decently high rms rating...

    Psi platform 1 12 inch

Really? They look nice.... Lol. But what have you heard?
  19. So is there any way i could hook up something so it would be like running 2 4 ohm subs at 2 ohms? I have a single 4 ohm sub and i was wondering if you could put something with it to be able to change the resistance.. Like idek what a resistor really is but it kinda sounds about right... This is probably impossible but i wanted to ask before i recone my sub to single 2 ohm for a third of what i bought it for.. Thanks for any help. This post is really just my imagination at work... So dont criticize too hard... Just a thought
  20. So the resistor would be taking half the power anyways?
  21. Yes id like to upgrade the sub later on. The box is roughly 2 cuft. 2.75x like idk 14" port.. Not positive of the width of the port but the box suggested for it.
  22. My birthday is coming up and id really like to increase my power to my sub as much as possible with $200. I currently have a power bass 400 rms at 4 ohms. My sub is single 4 ohm. Rated for 500rms. But id like to give it quite a bit more. Whats the biggest amp i can get for 200? I have a fi x12. In a ported box tuned to 33 ish maybe a tad higher. But i dnt play it at high volumes for more than maybe 10-15 mins. So im not too worried about anything blowing. I was thinking about geting a recone and try to recone it to dual 2 ohm.. And run my amp at 1 ohm... But thats kinda reckless because its only stable at 4 ohms. But if i set everything at 1 ohm and tune the amp with a dmm i feel confident... Like i said i only play for short periods...
  23. I have the same amp and i feel pretty comfortable giving it a lower ohm load now! Haha... But yeah i think the input voltage is low. Ifyou could increase your input voltage i bet you would have a lot better like signal to amplify. I have my signal split right now and its a noticable difference in my sub.. But it sounded alot better before i split it.

    Speaker whine with RPM's

So basicaly to get rid of the loop you can just put the ground in a different place? Im having the same problem... But i get a loud thump when i turn my truck off also. But my noise changes when the rpms change. So i added a amp to my door speakers and now my subwoofer amp makes a noise... so im guessing i have ground loop also? But could i just ground them both at same place to get rid of it?
