I hav a DMM but afraid to touch anything...could you explain a safe way to chck this? You need to measure the voltage at the amp.

Thankfully I have no dimming. Crossing fingers.
I have 800 rms @ 2ohm to the components and 1400 rms @ 2 ohm to the sub...Im sure Im not seeing all 2200 rms and the amps are class D.Definitely will try to get a video of this in action, but im nervous my alternator wont take te abuse!
I can honestly say I want to go to bed right now just so I can wake up to go have a listen!
Setup looks great man.
How much power are you running through the stock alternator?
But I bought one of those little guages you plug into a lighter socket that indicates alternator and battery...I stay around 14.2 when 2k rpm, but idleing drops to 12.5 ish every so often. Im sure its not very accurate, but close.
Stock alternator is 110 amp...thinking I might need 200-275 amp?
I believe my stock alternator is a 110 also, and I only have 1200w coming out of a single amp and I get some noticeable dimming. Couldnt even imagine that much on my poor system haha

SoI let it jam this morning, wow.
I sound deadened my doors and trunk area (dynamat, ccf, mlv etc) and this sub found places to rattle that never did before! Curse you Xcon.

Mark, any possibility to link store account with forum account? (No needing to sign in twice?)
Or is there a potential security risk?

Ive always liked the Eagles "Hotel California"... more for SQ than SPL...
Young Jeezy tracks seem to get real low while retaining balance/blend.
Also surprised by Far East Movement, really hits the midbass like no other.

Thanks Mark, just checked it out.
Honestly, I don't know how some of you guys run multiple of these subs!

Dc Creations made the box, its 4 ft^3 and ported to the side, tuned to 32 HZ

yeah the windows are tinted...looking out is clear, looking in not so easy! Also the time of day and the way the sun is hitting makes it look that way.I'm jealous and happy for you at the same dam time. That sub & box look nice back there. Are those back windows tinted?
Plus, if anyone really wanted to steal it I hope they bring a dollie cuz thats what it took for me to get it to my car.
Heres a better pic of the windows from the outside

I updated the first post with an installed pic...
Have not really had a chance to let this thing dance...its getting kind of late. But the little taste I did get has me skar'ed.
I also realized Im definitely going to eventually need a new alternator.

Guys, Im scared.
I think I opened pandoras box. This thing called the Xcon is an absolute beast! Holy shit.
One phrase to sum this up...
"Don't cross the streams"

Well guys, after a very loooooong wait...its finally over! And let me
tell you, I have not even heard this thing yet and Im already creaming
my panties.Here
are some pictures, and when I have it installed hopefully a little bit
later today I will update with pics. For those of you who already own an
SSA subwoofer this will be nothing new for you (but probably brings
back some great memories!). For those sitting on a fence trying to
decide which way to go??? ....I have to say as far as shipping goes, SSA gets an SSA+.
Holy shit you guys do this right!
You guys even included a living room table!
My son playing in the box.
15" Xcon vs 12" Pioneer shallow mount sub...no contest.

UPS out for delivery!
Will take some pics when I get home from work...although its a rainy day probably wont go in the car till tomorrow unless it clears up.

Do you think the tools will rattle with all the bass?

nice, I like these sonys as well...for a cheap ass speaker it gets the job done. I also have a sony 12" sub next to the couch, not seen in the pic. Definitely hits the low notes well.Nice in one of my rooms I have the same speakers with a Sony receiver plus two extra towers for a 5.1 with a 10" Sony sub. Sounds pretty damn good.
Due to my living room layout, 3.1 channel is best for me unless one day I decide to go wih ceiling speakers...which I have contemplated many times. I just dont have the balls to cut into the roof of my house that I might not live in forever.

Panasonic plasma, Pioneer Elite receiver, Sony 3.1 speakers...and Thomas the Train table.
It looks nice....Sony HT op?Nice enclosure, great home theater set up. Cool looking pup.
Heres a better pic:

Ok, can I get some helpful tips on installing the sub into the enclosure.
What size/type screws?
I see people saying to use T nuts like found here:
Good idea?
Also Dustin the internal speaker wire connect is spade plug, but what would be ideal on the outside? Straight speaker wire or a banana plug?

Estimated for Tuesday, maybe I'll get lucky and it will be here Saturday.

Looking at yOur Clarion features, I would set high and low pass to 90... You could try 60 and see which sounds better to you.
Also you could try setting the "bass" setting to 100hz or 200hz and increase it some...see if that helps any. There is an option for "q factor" but im not very knowledgable on the benefits of this.

Another thought (sound dampening is a must) what are your headunit options for EQ? If you only have high, mid, bass option then not much you can do as far as eq goes, but if you have more bands (frequency) to work with this could help also.
What head unit do you have?

Awesome man! Glad to see you finally got it. When you get that Xcon running I might have to make a stop in VA to hear it!
Yeah Terry, hopefully soon! Im still contemplating an alternator upgrade, as I think Im pushing my limits...but that will be another day.
Come on through Central VA, not much where I am but I found an interesting car audio club over in Roanoke (1 hour west of me) that seems to hold some regular events...
