That doesnt matter. Thermal ability is based on current, time and heat. If you know how to monitor\control them, then gain settings and setting your amp to such and such db reference is irrelevant.

um no... You are providing information based on paper. The real world is different. Peaks in music are so fast that it doesn't effect a speaker whatsoever. You are implying every 3db gain, power doubles.. Nope. Typically it takes more than double the power to increase 3db. Go out and test yourself, -6 -3 and 0db tones and measure power output on same volume level of a SONG Do NOT use peak hold or your results will be void. And yes i will allow clamp tests since it's the same technique used to measure all tests.

Someone on this forum keeps -1 every single freaking post big jon makes apparently and it's getting to the point now where it's irritating me now. For those who are trying to understand the system, seeing things like that will put him in a spot to never be trusted and that's not fair nor true whatsoever. I do not know what optional capabilities the Invision script has on this site, but i will lay out a list of suggestions in hopes something is possible here. If a user feels a post requires a -1, user MUST physically explain why in a comment section below the post with username. If a user feels a post requires a -1, user's name must be tagged with the post(whether publicly or privately. We need not care exactly who is doing it, just that the admins can detect trolling themselves) I'm tryin to help ya man. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I'm not the electrical guru of electronics here but i've messed around with some AQ's and DD's in the past and know they have very high, i believe it's called inductance. Basically, it takes a lot of power amp-wise to get a decent amount of power to these types of subs. They share high impedance curves which are still the highest i've ever seen before from anything else i've messed with in the past. This alone can be the reason why the soft parts on those subs are not failing. I am willing to bet(although impossible to prove now) that a direct sub swap, the SP4 would be receiving, measurably, more power than the DDs or AQs are.

I agree that it is way too excessive. Nothing that Jon posts deserves a negative rep. On the other hand, Jon's reactions to getting -1 on his posts is probably why the person keeps doing it. I think if Jon would simply ignore it every time and not post crazy stuff with the name calling and what not, it would probably stop eventually. I agree with the suggestions above as well. I'm sure we'd all react like he has when he has to see it everyday.. for weeks.. months... etc.. IT's almost as bad as getting a prank call every other day for months..

I have deleted a few threads before but for good reason.. IE- Group Buy over, Sales thread over, etc.. Only other time i ever had to delete something besides that was on another forum where a bunch of customers had received information from us that was wrong. This created a frenzy that appeared to never end.. I left the thread public for a long time but new customers would come and read it, get wrong information and be disappointed in our product. So, we had to delete that thread to remove the confusion. That thread was several pages of wrong information, lol. It had to go. But the way i view things is the more negative feedback a business gets publicly, the better for the business. that way you know exactly what and how to improve those issues without them being kept secret. IF you acknowledge the issues publicly then nothing bad can ever stem from it.

He doesnt understand why somethings need ground and others do not. To complete a power cycle, electronics need a path to a/the battery. So stereo, alternator batts amps processors all need grounding. The ONLY reason why batts are grounded to frame is to make the frame of the vehicle ground itself. Its an extension of the ground post from the battery.

i just mention it because my normal wall builds use about 10-12ft of wire per terminal and i wire them outside the enclosure then another 3ft from there to the amp. Voltage rails running 75-95v, i know i have some voltage loss by having it that long via 8awg.

If i do decide to order these, can they be customized a little? Direct leads or oversized terminals?

yea.. they crazy. I know some complete ignorant minded people would hop on it just because it is a warranty. Not their fault if they do not have access or knowledge to do things themselves but i hate it when they try to put a guilt trip on you like voodoo warranty, lol.
