He's looking to purchase a new sub for a different vehicle. All of the SSA subs are built with sq first so whatever sub you can afford would suit your needs as long as the install and box is built and designed well.. If built right though a ported box can have just as good sound quality or better even than sealed. I was also happy with my incriminator I series 10", especially for the money.

I would definitely recommend mike singer (Singer alternators) his customer service is amazing. Emails back very fast and will answer all your questions. Go to Singeralternators.com and fill out the form and he'll email you back with options. I have one of his 250amp alternators and love it.

I'd rather have my idea called stupid and pointed in the right direction with a end result that sounds good than be bullshitted and end up wasting a ton of money on something that sounds a tenth as good as what I could have had for the same money.

With as busy as that build house is and the amount of work they get I don't understand why they don't hire more people.
Hope it works out and you get the subs soon! I really am looking forward to see how they perform.
Ya if they hired more people they would get more work too because wait times would be reduced and ppl who couldn't wait a month would be interested.

I was very happy with Ryan, got back to me fast, answered all my questions and box sounded amazing!

Thats what I was thinking also, I will be using 2 seperate ported boxes on 1 amp down to 1 omh. Will a 1500RMS kill my battery?
Are you planning on doing a box on either side? Just wondering why you are wanting to do two separate boxes? 1.5 cu feet net is as small as you would want to go. 1500rms is a lot for a stock battery might be OK though depending on the size of the alternator. Make sure you do the big 3 at least and you might have to upgrade battery if voltage drop is too bad.

Ya you can use the gain of course and have the tweeters low but if youre buying a new amp you could save some going with a bit smaller like u said something like 50-75x4. Unless you are planning to change speakers right away and would need the extra power then the headroom is nice. If it goes good for you and is louder and sounds better I might do it.

Since the set is 125rms a side wouldn't a 75x4 RMS be pretty good since you are separating the tweeter and mid? I have the same set and have considered doing the same. Make sure the amp you get has a x100 switch for the tweeter.

Thanks, that was my assumption just wanted to make sure! I'm looking for an amp for my 300zx and don't want to go too big on electrical so I figure I should stay for sure under 1000rms and wondered the best way to do it so will be getting a amp rated at around 750 at one ohm. Thanks for the help

well, when you say same efficiency, then it would draw the same, but you are wrong.
Efficiency is NOT the same at 1ohm vs 4 ohm.
Efficiency levels on Class D amps at 4ohms is around 86-88%. 1ohm, around 78-82%
Sorry that was where my wording wasn't clear! I meant if the amps were both the same efficiency at the same ohm load. According to efficiency the big amp wired to 4 ohms should require less current but has this been the case for people

So I've wondered this and never seen any tested answers. If i had a 750 watt amp at 1ohms and another 2000watt amp at 1 ohm and 750 at 4 ohms and I want 750 for my subs given same model and same efficiency at same ohm which would draw more current? A bigger amp wired to 4 ohm or a small amp wired to 1 ohm. Example would be a crescendo bc2000 at 4 ohm vs a aq750 at 1 ohm. Anybody tested this and have any thoughts, experiences etc. Hope this is easy to understand as I tried to word it best I could

So I got the subs today and was very impressed. They are in great shape. (Suspension is very soft though) Dk if it just has has soft spiders or they are just sacked out from use/abuse. Just have a question, these subs are previous generation re se 10" subs and I was wondering if they r pre being bought out or if they r the better older models.

I'm not looking for best performance here, Ill be putting them in my 93 300zx twin turbo in boxes ill be making to fit in the back hatch in the sides and still leave room for the t tops. Im getting the subs this weekend so i can take measurements then. Im not picky about what coil config as I wont be running much power and have a few amp options. Also just wanting to try reconing a sub.

OK ya I'll try that! I'd like to try a rec one.

I picked up 2 re sex10 subs for super cheap and would like to know if its possible to recone them to SSA con recone kit? I'd like to try doing a recone but would rather not do a nice new sub. I know its probably dumb but is it possible? Both are 4 layer 3" VCS but I'm sure gap etc would come into play. Thanks

That is a Sexy box and sub, Nice work! Is that rock guarded/bedlined? Id like to buy a Q just to see the sound difference between it and my Icons.

Ive had both the Type s Components and the Hertz Hsk's. I really quite liked the Alpine Type S components for the money. My (Personal) opinion with switching to the Hertz was. More output overall, Highs were clearer but not harsh, also midbass was better. Ive listened to other high end speakers in a sq truck Hertz MLK components and found them super harsh, sounded great but after a few mins my ears felt like they were bleeding. My Hertz Hsks were the first speakers to actually give me goosebumps. My friends will come to my truck just to listen to new music in my truck.

I ended up getting suprised today. The Q wasnt suppose to be here until Friday but it showed up today. Just got done wiring it up and everything and wow. Only on half of the power it can take its already as loud as the 2 CVR 12s except for its hitting lows iv never heard. Now i just can't wait until i can at least get a new battery and install my new amp to see what it can do.
Nice man, Post some pics of it.
I'd get Knu to send me new cables but shippings the killer and I had other ones and have it all wired already. Shipping to me in Canada would be same amount as the cables are worth, really happy with everything else from there.

Alright, barring anyone strongly opposting Quentin's advice, I will be rocking a 12" Icon in a ported box soon after Christmas. I appreciate your help Quentin
I second Quentin, I have 2 15" Icons tuned to 32hz and wow they are AMAZING on the lows but are still super tight for rock etc.
