    Oxygen audio amps

Because the sounstream amp probably puts out 200-250, Id rather have more then I need and still get the same sound so that I don't risk clipping like I am now. I am planning a new build but id rather have everything right in the mean time, before I start buying stuff for the new build. That was my logic at least, and honestly I like trying new things and seeing how they work out. At the same time I do see what your saying, when I bought what I have now it was mostly impulse buys and from advice given to me, not much planning. Next build I've learned enough to completely plan it out, and I'm not going to use any of the equipment I have now.

No it won't sound better. Yeah I thought so, Im just gonna set my sites on the rockford 750.1. Its only $200 and they supposedly come over spec, so why not.

    Problem with C1100.4 highpitched noise.

I had a friend buy a crescendo 2000d recently, and it is having a loud buzzing coming from the amp itself. Sounds to me like the fan, but all these issues I've been hearing are kinda disappointing. Im going to run all crescendo amps for my rebuild, so hopefully these are flukes.

Should I buy audio equipment in germany?

Isn't MB Quart products made in germany? not much of there new stuff is too fantastic though, but seems decent quality. heard a few of their speakers.

I like it! 1967-1969 good year for pretty much every car. all of them looked sexy back then.

    Confused. haha...

So I had an old friend stop by and he knew I was a fan of bass, and he hasn't heard my subs yet but offered to show me his. So he told me they were kickers, so I was already not impressed haha. So when I actually listened to these 12in kickers in a prefab ported box on a 300w rockford amp, I was pretty surprised. Ive never heard or seen these specific kicker subs before, and they were much louder then I expected. must be new? Now keep in mind my truck has shitty acoustics, and doesn't seal up as well as newer cars/trucks. It actually almost sounded as loud as the DCONs though. It was close, which really put a damper on my day. Sure he was clipping the helll out of the amp and the SQ was out the door which I never do, but it was loud for 300w... I would go as far as to say louder then my close friends older style JBL 15s on 1500w. What is this?? did kickers get super loud overnight?? lol yeah, so I thought Id just post this disheartening experience. This also has made me want a new amp so much more, been thinking the rockford prime 750.

    Confused. haha...

Huh, I guess I'll pay more attention to the build quality then the subs used. Never really thought about it that way. not that I'm ever going to buy kicker haha, just wont be as hard on them.

    Confused. haha...

Huh every sub I've heard from kicker including this one has been about the bass quality coming dual. dual subs might actually have better SQ Ive heard quite a few of them, never heard any of the 15s though. Might be shitty setups though, not sure. Ill keep a lookout. Anybody know about polks sub line? Ive heard fairly good things about them.

    Confused. haha...

There are a lot of people around here that run kicker, but those were way louder then any Ive ever heard. Never liked kicker in any way, all there subs look very cheap inside and out. It truly sounded terrible, cause of how far he was turning it up but yeah surprising none the less.

    Sundown X Series 10/12/15/18 Pre-Order : ETA June 2013

I love the surrounds on these, they look so beastly. Great looking sub! I'm thinking of trying an 18 so who knows, these look pretty nice.

    Upgrading speakers

Its in my sig and Sorry I assumed you saw it and meant nicer then mine, and I'm not changing decks, but I'm willing to buy an external crossover processor. But I don't know much about them. would the the AudioControl 2XS work? it says 2-way electronic crossover, which seems right.. I think a better 4ch is needed though, I was thinking maybe Alpine MRP-F300 as a replacement. Need to get rid of the dayton ND105-4s also, although they are a cool little speaker. not sure what I'm gonna do with them..

    Upgrading speakers

I have some 70w rms pioneer 5-way 6x9s that sound decent but definitely not as clear as I would like. So I thought Id buy some quality 6x9s, Ive been looking around for awhile and none seem to come close to the Infinity kappa 693.9I 3-way speakers in specs. Anybody have any experience with these? Seem like a good purchase for around $100? Specifications: Power Handling (RMS): 110 W Power Handling (Peak): 330 W Frequency Response: 35Hz – 30kHz Nominal Impedance: 2 Ohm Sensitivity (2.83V @1m): 96dB Also my kenwood 6.5s are clear and sound fairly great but I doubt they will keep up with 6x9s so I was also thinking about Infinitys 6.5 components for $130 to go in my doors since they also have a high sensitivity and Im sure will sound pretty fantastic. All seem like a good choice? and can you think of any better in that price range? Thanks guys

    Upgrading speakers

Why would I need a nicer deck? my deck is actually pretty nice.. and I have a 4 channel amp, and yeah I was thinking a while back cresendos 6.5 and ft1 but those seem to be more SPL then SQ. Any ideas for SQ, unless those will sound good enough? I have a 80PRS coming for my other truck, because of the 32 band equalizer. Do I have to have something like that? I really don't want to get a different deck, cause I had to make a custom bracket and faceplate for this one... My deck and that one were similarly priced.

    Upgrading speakers

Alright Ill disconnect those 6x9s, but what Ive been trying to get is a recommendation for new front speakers. At least a brand, because I've looked at a a lot of them and none of them have really stuck out at me for components. I prefer SQ, and probably 150-250 is my price range.

    15in Dcons sealed vs ported

Thanks guys yeah I love em.

    15in Dcons sealed vs ported

I just finished both the ported boxes after they were so highly recommended, So I thought id post pictures of both. Also at the end Ill say which one sounds the best in my application. You have to admit that looks pretty badass even without being carpeted yet. I'm thinking paint the port white, black carpet on sides and back and leather/vinyl for front. So actually one ported one sealed sounded the best! Although its not recommended by many, it sounded fantastic. You get the SQ and top end of sealed and you get the lows and loudness of ported. In my opinion its the perfect combo for these drivers. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of them together but... if your in the market for two 15in Dcons and you want both SQ and SPL go for ported and sealed. (Although it does look a little funky so I recommend making one box but sealing one woofer off.)

    Upgrading speakers

Alright but I meant what are your recommendations for an specific speaker there, Ive been looking for quite a while but none of the brands Ive looked at have had that good of components. At least a brand name would be nice. Oh and I dont see why it hurts to have a nice speaker there when almost all SUVs have speaker in each door minimally. Mine are facing the backseat on either side where the doors would be if I had any. I get that less speakers equals more controllable, less cancellation, phase, etc. but one set of components while clear might not have the mid bass and such that I prefer.

    need help choosing sub!

Yeah the Rubicon 2.600, and it can make a difference in both sq and spl. if you choose a bad quality amp it could put out very little power to the sub which causes low spl, and the quality of bass in general could be degraded. Some of soundstream's amps are better then others, Ive heard the reference series is nice. where as their rubicon 2500, and tarantula 2600 have a reputation for low power, and overheating. Mine runs hot and I doubt gets the whole 300rms each but seems to be pushing the subs nicely, so I cant complain too much for my application.

    possible upgrade

Lol, I'd tend to agree on there newer amps. all china garbage.

Skar is very good at advertising and making their products look good. Ive always like their style of cone and surround.

    need help choosing sub!

Crescendo audio amps are very good quality, and that sounds good. I am doing the same thing, cause as you can see atm I'm stuck with a Soundstream amp.

    need help choosing sub!

I will try them out .. thanks I'm just not trying to get involved with no shitty equipment , you know? I would venture to say none of the amps are of bad quality in the SSA store. EDIT: haha.. I almost put down Skar is the only questionable one but BrutalBasser beat me to it, as I was typing.

    need help choosing sub!

I wouldnt necessarily recommend a soundstream amp, they don't do complete advertised power and some models run quite hot. although they are of decent quality compared to others. rockford makes quality amps, or stetsom. there are others brands also if you wanna look around.

I do believe this is a relevant technical question. Lacks details though, and new members to the forum should read them anyways We can always ask questions for more information, its not a big deal..
