  1. few weeks into the use and all I can say is this sounds as good as I can tell to my soundstream refs but doesnt get hot and has a ton of power bridged . I am getting like 400x2 on this thing bridged.

its rated 133x4 but its stronger than that according to my tech and his equipment.

It is better than any of the class D i have run and he also thinks its a good one.

I have run literally hundreds of amps and quite a few on the setup I have now and I have no reason to change other than maybe to match my sub amp but that would require me to find a smoking deal on a amp I never see go for cheap

  2. my tech is a engineer and he reverse engineered the amp and had good things to say about it. better quality that he has seen in a while.

    Fish much?

what a useful post, thanks a lot. others will really appreciate that helpful and informative post.

anyhow. I had a chance to listen to it in the car turned up loud. bridged giving somewhere in neighborhood of 300x2@4ohms.

its loud and clear. I was pleased with the output.  I have at times had other class D amps that sounded harsh when volume was really loud. this one like my tech said didnt sound strained.

    I am running a SK125.4D  replacing a Soundstream Ref500sx.

  3. I picked up a 125.4D  from my repair tech..never heard one but he said it puts out more than rated and sounds pretty clean. I will soon find out.   Just curious the deal on the amps and company., Most of what I have seen is not that favorable but I dont know if that is the owner or the product.

Can he name the brand amps he has looked at?

I have used skars high end SK series amp and was happy with it's performance.

But as a company it sucks!

Also their subs might get loud but have poor sound quality.

my tech repairs thousands of amps a year. he has made some of his own and then sold the finished design to other companies but he cant tell me who because its in the contract.  He was the repair tech for ED but he has also contracted for Pioneer and Alpine.

Let just say this. He can take most any amp and make it better or find where the week spots are and improve them.  he has amps that cost thousands . He is not some hack job repairman.

He has the equipment to repair even the newest stuff that in some cases most cant .

I would trust my tech over Steve Mantz any day of the week.

he told me this 125.4 was actually well made  and he hates Chinese amps and most of the amps that some people think are good.

he knows more than probably most of us on all these forums.    He is not just a repairman but he is also inside the loop and knows what he is talking about .

  5. While not class A it is an excellent amp. It's build quality is hard to find in today's world.

It's a 10+ yr old amp that still works and is still sought after by many. And not for the silly "A" label.

It will sound great for mids/ highs but be a waste on sub unless your going to load it down to make the power and then it would still be a waste. It wasn't really meant for a sub.

It's old and nice. If u were not trying to run class D for efficiency I would be running okd soundstream. I have owned nearly everything and the old SS is tops for many reasons.

There is a reason some amps outlive others

  6. First off there is some confusion here.

I WAS going to do IB but as I stated I DIDNT LIKE my choices.

So I had decided to see if there was an 8 that could run like a 10 to save space.

I only have 400 watts right now but that will change.

I was going to run a 5 channel Boston GT 5750 amp.

But that will be temp most likely

  7. I am not a basshead but do like to crank it a little for fun. car currently has no system in it but I got all the stuff except the sub(s) . I was going to try IB on the rear deck but I just dont like whats out there so I have decided to try to get the most bass out of the least amount of space.

after I saw some little DD 6inch subs at local shop I decided to try maybe 8's .

would 1 SA-8 be enough? I think all the reviews show people with multiple SA-8

I really need more time to research all this stuff. I didnt realize these were that cheap

  8. I have a guy that wants to trade my md42 for a AX4300 and Kicker zx750.1 . His AX4300 has a bad channel maybe. My problem is I have read some things about the AX when first released having issues.

    he bought this from IKES.

anyone got any info or advice on how to know if this amp was a first run or not?

his amp has static on 1 channel also.

  9. whats with the 90amps in fusing? and what was the deal with the recall on the MD line? I havnt found any info on that. might be helpful to know if that was true or not and what models manufacture date.

if I needed to have it fixed for a recall it would be nice to know what was wrong if indeed there was a issue

    thanks Aaron btw

  10. anyone on the planet have some info on it? I actually didnt get the one I was looking at but I found one not far from me and bought it. Just not convinced I want to use it since I find nearly nobody who has one.

the US amps website says they are 70% efficient. IS this true ? or some more bs?

its sad I cant find more out about this amp. I loved all the US made US AMPS I had before.

  11. for now I am not needing one. I am going to run a JL 500/1 cause I got it cheap. I also got some eclipse amps new in box for ridiculous cheap so I dont need anything right now. I will keep these in mind

  12. You turn over amps so fast.

new plans as of last weekend. For the first time in this car the amps need to be in the car and not the trunk. Otherwise I wouldnt need a amp right now and wouldnt have sold the one I just did. it was a strong and but too large.

I did find the owners manual on the new v3 on the US AMPS web. I just want to see someone review one or test one ...or at least hear what they changed since they claim an upgrade.

is the upgrade only on the mono amps or across the line of XT amps?

the thing I am looking at with these is the power at 4 ohms . I prefer not to run @ 1ohms but I could. if I did I could also get a new Soundstream. they are stable down to 1/2 ohm

  13. more power the better. can never have too much. looking at the 1600.2 or the 800.4 because I am not sure yet how its going to be used. I have another amp also. one of them is going to be a sub amp other a highs. other amp does 200 x 2 or 600 x 1 . 1600.2 is rated like 800 x 1

otherwise I am looking at the new Soundstream stealths

Obviously you need to state a sub. The US Amps ones are fine many of my relatives are running them no problems at all.

Obviously I dont. I stated I need another amp and it was either going to run fronts or a sub. I dont like using mono amps cause I like the ability to be able to still run my stereo if one of the amps goes down or I change one out.

Sub I have now is a PG RSDC 12 and it can take as little as 200rms or around 1K ....I want at least 500 and I would prefer not to have to run at 1 ohm

I am also working in limited space now and that is why I am trying to go different route.

  15. I have the older V2 model and have yet to have a problem pushing to 12 SE's to their limits never gets warm and is on a 1 ohm load. My brother has the original XT series and he has not have had a problem from a 3 year old amp either so I do expect a good pic. I can get a picture of the board if you want.

thanks but thats ok. it will not be the same as the new one anyhow. I am almost convinced to give it a shot. I got to have as much power as possible with as little space and I see no real difference from all thats out there except variences in size although the RE amps boast more power.

I would like to know more than just 1 or 2 sentences from the rep though

  16. I understand that. I am talking about info on them ...not places to buy them. how can they expect to be seen as worth a crap if there is no info other than negative info about how their product has gone downhill?

All I can find is the stuff that says the v2 stuff was overated and crap like that.

I need to get something and this would work great if it were reliable and not sounding like crap and did the power it was rated at.

hell....it seems like Sundownz is the only amp maker with any support on here...and maybe Zed

I truely love the misinformation that gets spread over the net.

The new XTv3's are WAY better than the pervious versions. Being full range digital they also sound much better and are more eff.

THAT is just it. I have found not 1 person who has seen or heard one of these v3 models. The info I have seen where someone has used one has been the V2 model.

Even the website has very little on it to proove to me its a better amp. SPECS ARE IDENTICAL RMS WISE ....and there is little else discussed.

the website doesnt sell the product very well and I dont have a dealer near me that I know of.

I didnt read any misinformation other than users of the previous model. I cant find a soul who wants to touch the new one
