I've got a competition tomorrow and had my batteries just arrive this evening. Setup is two hc2400 and two hc600.the question I'm posing is only one run of 0 ga. Enough for just this one time event or just forget about it and spend the day making a second run. I'm powering a sundown 2500. What's your thoughts? It will have the second run done I'm just not sure if only one run will hurt the batteries.

Does the xs batteries listed in the store carry the warranties advertised on other sites? I've seen the d series have a 3yt and the xs have 2yr. Just want to make sure their warranted before buying. Thanks!

Yeah the sundown worked fine. Those amps only cost 250 new. I can't get a hold of spl to see about cost of repair. What do you think I could get out of them if I just sold them as a pair for someone else to fix? I'm thinking $75-100 would be fair. I don't need them anymore anyway.

I've got two grl5500's that I picked up cheap and used for awhile while I was doing upgrades. Problem I ran into is that when I upgraded my alt. I made a noob mistake of not upgrading my fuse to rear battery. I know Duh! Adw I didn't catch it and everything was fine until my rear batteries voltage just gave out. After doing all the proper wiring upgrades, which I should have done first, I charged the battery made sure it was fine then proceeded to hook amps back up. They powered up but produced no sound. Not for sure what to do. I've since got my sundown in, but would have liked to recoup some money on these. Any ideas on what could be the problem or just write it up as a loss and ditch them?

I just got my 2500 and am wondering if my planned battery expansion will be enough to really get this amp going. This is my 1st experience with sundown product so I would like to know what other owners have done. As far as electrical goes I've got a 220 amp alt., big three, and an hc2400 along with a standard battery. I'm looking to change batteries to 2 xs3400's piggybacked with a xs680 with each one. Two runs of 0 awg. Will be running a yellow top upfront. That maxes out the space I've got to use. Will this be enough to power the amp up to be able to get enough power to compete? Is there a better configuration I could run? All advice appreciated! Thanks

I'm currently running at two ohm and can't turn it up past about a third of gain without clipping. I know I'm underpowered now, will that be enough to burp at .5 ohm in comps? Xs is a new brand to me as well, I've always used kinetik, but everyone raves about them. I want to try them. Hey if that will work I would be tickled.

Old dogs can still learn! Lol I used to always triple check, but admit wanted it done fast and I messed up. Plain and simple. I went back through useful threads got to thinking and I just plain messed up. Haven't competed in ten years. Just excited to get back into it. I ordered two dual two fi ssd subs. I built my whole system around the subs. I built the box to spec, upgraded all my electrical, ordered a sundown 2500 for them. It's took awhile to get it all built and I'm still waiting on the amp. Adw the problem I have is when I boxed the subs I noticed that they had no movement. I just thought they were reply stiff. Got everything installed just waiting on amp, but wanted to see how they sounded. I hooked them up in series and put them on a 1000d just to here them. Their was no movement and just produced little sound. Within just a few seconds in there started to be a burning smell. Needless to say I unhooked immediately and removed subs from box. I've tried to reach the fi warranty number but get no answer and mailbox is full. What do I do? I've got $600 invested in junk and can't get help. Has anyone else had this problem? I bought tje subs because I was impressed with them when I seen them at a comp. The got said they were great to deal with..I just need to know what to do. Any help is appreciative.

I had to really think about how I wired them. I was so disappointed when that happened I just jerked them out and boxed them up. After a lot of thought I realized that I had wired one incorrectly. So I unboxed them wired correctly and they played like the beast I hoped they be! Might be old but am quick when it comes to unhooking! Lol. The reason I wired the one wrong I hooked them up to quickly go between ohm loads for competition. Now I'm just waiting on my new amp and a couple more batteries. If I blow them because of ohm load being to low then I'm a big boy and will pay for new recone. Sry for being impatient everyone! Just I'm trying all new products to me. Guess I just feared the worst. Sry FI!

You know, it doesn't matter how long you've done this if you don't ask questions about products your not familiar with then your not very smart. Competitions have changed a lot since I last done them. No one knows everything. You need to ask questions everyday so we can all learn. If you know so much then why aren't you hosting your own show or have your own blog site? I appreciate everyone on here that's gave useful info. Those that can only criticize and not be helpful can keep their comments to themselves. We're here to help each other be you new or experienced it doesn't matter. Thanks to all those that helped.

Adw I wired them in series and hooked a 1000d up to them. The ohm read 1.36 at the amp. As soon as I turned the stereo on I got nothing but a burning smell. I tried getting hold of the warranty # and nobody answered and the voice mailbox was full. How cam I get this taken care of? My amp will finally be here this week and I've not got subs to use it on. Plz help!

That makes sense. I didn't think of that thanks. I was the guinea pig for this brand with our club. I wanted something different that was really good. I will post in the fi section. I've been sponsored by mtx and spundstream, so like I said I know what I'm doing. I just have had some medical probs that have kept me from competition. Just wanted to be competitive. Look I've been doing this for 20 years I believe I know how to hook up subs. I hooked each sub in series then put them together at the amp to deliver a metered 1.36 load. What I ment by the subs not moving was that when they where unmoved you could push on them and get no movement. If its not covered by warranty then this is a terrible company that doesn't stand behind their product. I know this will Piss quite a few off but this is how I feel. I connected them correctly and they just flat out didn't work. I just wanted to know if anyone else has haD this problem.

Checked all wiring and all fuses b4 asking for help. I haven't had a chance to try different rca cables yet. I plan on trying that next to see if its the deck or not. I'm afraid I burnt up the amps. I let my cousin borrow my spare amp and he messed it up it does the same thing power comes on but no sound. I tried it in three different vehicles and it did the same thing. Maybe I just have crappy luck!

I had blown one of my subs a few months ago so I unhooked everything and removed from vehicle. After doing some upgrades and getting new subs in, I finally reinstalled them yesterday. The problem I've ran into is that the amps aren't producing any sound. They power up and show that there on, but no sound. What voltage should the remote wire show? This is the only thing I can think of to check. I will say though that when I had a sub blow it blew the fuse between batteries and the amps where underpowered for awhile. Could this have caused internal problems? All help needed fast!!!
