Can Fiberglass Resin Fumes Damage Sub?

But I don't need to worry about it damaging my sub? Like breaking down glue or something like that?

    SDS Door Treatment

A few pics of my latest project. CLD CCF and MLV on all 4 doors. WAY more time consuming than I anticipated but I am pleased with the results. With Don's help it was really straight forward and not too complicated just super time consuming to get the fit just right with as much coverage as possible. Worth every hour.

    SDS Door Treatment

I am pleased with the results. I am in a 96 Honda so Power strokes and other trucks are right at door/ window level. I couldn't stand it any more so I thought why not, I have spent over a grand on wire amps speakers and box building materials, time to deaden. I have noticed a difference in road noise especially coming from traffic. I have also noticed a huge improvement in woofer response in my doors which I am extremely happy about. The only problem/ let down is that I now notice noise entering the vehicle from other sources ie floor firewall. I never noticed how loud that noise was because my doors were so bad. Now it is kind of forcing me to finish the entire car. should only be another $150 or so, I need to get with Don to help me work out a materials list, but I will get it done eventually. Overall it was a great decision and has definitely improved sq.

    SDS Door Treatment

There is CCF behind the MLV but I am horrible at taking pics when I get into a project, sorry. Especially with how time consuming this one was for me

    SDS Door Treatment

The pic of the CLD was too big but im sure everyone is familliar with that anyway. I love the idea of hanging the barrier with velcro so you can get to the internals easily if need be. The strips Don offers are strong as hell and stick very well.

    Advice on going active

So after having my doors apart for deadening this week I found I have 6.5 inches diameter and 5 inches depth for woofers and 2.5 inches diameter and 2 inches depth for tweeters in my doors which is where I would like to keep them. I have 75w per x 4 available to power my front stage. where should I begin my search for new speakers? What should I be searching for? My goals are SQ. I would like nice midbass response and a clear clean tweeter. My ear seems to favor soft dome tweeters from my limited listening experience. Any suggestions or guidance?

Ported box for GCON box build

It is TONS louder! The worry I have now is the smell...I coated the inside with fiberglass resin about a week before I had everything ready to install, put the sub in the box and the box in my trunk last night and I can still smell the resin. It's not horribly bad but is there a chance the fumes will damage my sub? Like I said, its not real bad, just when I get in the car I notice the smell, I just worry about the fumes breaking down the glues on the driver...should I be concerned?

Ported box for GCON box build

Had this in a 1.35f^3 sealed box and it got down...but I felt like it wanted and needed more So I put her in a 2.5f^3 tuned ~33hz and WOW!!! couldn't be happier. I can't believe a $200 sub can play this loud and clean. Everyone who hears it always is impressed at how clear the bass is and that it is only 1 12" sub. This was my first box design from the ground up. would do a few things differently if I could do it over but overall I am happy with the results...

    Advice on going active

And following that process saved me some money for the time being...thought a channel on my amp was bad but after a little time spent reducing variables found out my rca cable is the problem, not the amp

M5, your logic is sound...no pun intended I am deadening my doors tomorrow and I will post mounting locations and space restrictions in hopes of getting advice on drivers.

    Advice on going active

Is there a reason you recommend used? Also, it looks like this project just got a little more interesting. One of the channels on my amp is cutting in and out so I may be in the market for a new amp too. I have been planning on upgrading my amp but not this soon...bitter sweet
