    Power for the 3500D

I did get Arik's amp so I will get the 180 amp alt, the Deka 9A31 and we'll see what happens. I'll be competing but not every weekend, I'm more concerned about the daily driving.

    Power for the 3500D

Okay since I'm so close to putting my new system together for the 2011 MWSPL season I have this question. My electrical will consist of a 180 amp DC Power Alternator, a CarQuest NGT Extreme 100 Ah AGM battery under the hood and a Deka 9A31 in the trunk, will this be enough to power a SAZ-3500D? I've heard yes and no. Of course I know to watch my voltage but I've had a few people tell me to get at least 2 batts for the trunk (if I had the space) it's going in the back of a 01 Camry.

    Power for the 3500D

He's a rep for DC Power, he was in a 97-01 Camry (same body style as mine, dual alts aren't an option) I think maybe he was running 1 battery, I realize the differences within this realm, The reality is honestly I could run a 4500D off of my stock alternator and no extra batteries, would I get optimum performance from the amp? absolutely not. Let me simplify my question: if I use the above mentioned equipment in my electrical what kind of power can I expect from the 3500D? The class I'll be running in clamps at 2K, I just want to make sure that I am not severely underpowering this amp

adding 2nd amp = less power?

    Box for Z12's V.2

Okay so I'm going with the Z12's v.2 and I'll be powering them with an SAZ-3500D, I have a design for a slot ported box similar to the one I have now for my SA-12's. My question is, the box for my SA-12's is tuned to around 30Hz, what should I tune the box for my Z12's to? Although I want to compete with the Z12's I may keep them in my car from time to time just as a daily driver.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

Well let's see, when you have a good thing why mess with it. You may not be old enough but I remember when Coca Cola reformulated it's recipe and changed the taste, it lasted all of 6 months. After many complaints that switched back to their old formula. I can't see Jacob messing with the success that he's having right now. Most of the time when companies trade customer service for larger profits they lose sight of what customers really want. Most of your mainstream companies have done just that. I have owned at least (2) 12's from almost every mainstream company you could name. I was very impressed with not only what I saw and heard from Sundown Audio, but I was more impressed with what people had to say about Sundown Audio. So when I laugh, it's because I can. When Sundown becomes mainstream, as long as Jacob continues to do what he's doing now, I have no reason to laugh at him or his company. If you don't think every business owner doesn't want exactly that, you pucking nuts. Thats the name of the game and ever company is in pursuit of that. Anyone who says otherwise is a pucking liar. That is done by producing more and selling more and/or cutting corners. You can't produce a top quality product at Wal Mart prices, but you can make a good product that can be sold for a good price, a cheaply made product for cheap prices, and a top quality product for top dollar prices. And who says they have all sacrificed customer service or quality of product? Maybe some have but with all the brands we carry, do not. Exceptional customer service actually since we are a dealer and deal with different manufacturers directly on a daily basis. And we do that so the customer doesn't have to. They walk in, get product swapped same day , and leave, unless it's completely customer abuse, and even then we can get customers taken care of usually. We carry Sundown, Alpine, Kenwood and their Excelon line, Orion, Alumapro, JL Audio, and an assortment of other brands for different things. No lack of service and their products are geared for different scenarios and budgets. You make cheaper products to appeal to people with small budgets. To make thing as cheap as they are, you have to sacrifice something. You can't sell a JL 1000/1 amplifier for 299.99 because they'd lose money just because of the cost to design, patent technologies, produce and advertise. Not to keep this going because to each his own but let's see Chrysler went bankrupt and is now owned by Fiat. GM went bankrupt and is owned by the US Government. Even though Ford received no assistance from the government they did mortgage their name to investors. I can keep going if necessary. When a business loses sight of what's truly important, the customer, that's a recipe for trouble no matter what business you are in. Every business is in it to make money, I know that, but when you stop taking care of customers whether it be customer service, the products sold, whatever, you lose sight of what made your business in the first place. Look at some of the other audio companies that made damn good products in the nineties and have fallen off. I can mention the following names because I have used their equipment: Orion, Kicker, Autotek, Hifonics, Crunch, and there are others. Regardless, Sundown Audio has found a recipe for a successful business and as long as he keeps doing what he's doing, I'll keep on buying and laughing.

    Electrical needed for SAZ-3500D

Okay not to sound like a broken record here, and I understand you want to hear Jacob himself, but honestly if you wanted a response solely from him, an email would be better. Judging by what's in your signature you should be fine. I am only going to run one but I won't have half of that.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

I have a high school buddy that's looking into branching out on his own. Currently he is co-owner of a local shop and the shops big seller is JL Audio. What I did was visited his shop and asked if we could get one of his customers vehicles with a similar set up to mine. (2) 12" subs rated at or around 600 watts and a 1500 watt amp. What I found out was that our enclosures we're basically identical in specs, built a little differently. After him personally listening to both vehicles and metering them on the TL he approached his partner about carrying Sundown and his partner flat out said no even though what Sundown did to the other car was outrageous (JL must stand for Just Lousy). He is very interested in Sundown Audio, so what I'll do is keep repping Sundown Audio and laughing at all those "mainstream" guys.
