    Testing all the SAZ amps

There will be a whole new round of testing when I get my pair of saz-3500s in. This time it will be with two subs & two amps showing the difference from a pair of saz-1000s, 1500s, 3000s, and 3500s. I just wish I had a pair of 2000s but that'll come later.

    Testing Sundown z15"s

So banginAltima & I picked up his new pair of Sundown Audio z15"s yesterday. I feel so priveleged cause I got to test them out in my Explorer 1st. My box is a very basic 6ft net volume. Powered by a single Sundown saz-1500d it burped a 149.5 and hit 148.1 on music playing some Kanye West. We're gonna do some more testing tomorrow and see what they can do at different power levels. No doubt this will easily burp over a 150db on the saz-2000d which will be the perfect amp for a pair of these subs. No doubt I'm underpowering them with the saz-1500d. After a 30 second full tilt run on music they were still cold to the touch and it was 80* here today. There isn't even the typical break-in smell with these subs. We can't wait to put more power on them. I believe we're gonna try burping them with a pair of saz-3000s tomorrow. :bigclap: NightShade 15" left --- z15" right Playing my BassRace song JayZ - Hello Brooklyn Playing Kanye West - Heartless I still have one more vid uploading on the TL while playing Heartless.

    Sundown Audio Magnum

This is Team Nemesis Jay's Magnum. It has a pair of Sundown NightShade 18"s powered by a pair of Sundown saz-3000s. This car loves screwed music and will play it all day long. The amps never get warm and the subs barely get a temp even after some hard beating. Here's a vid. The song playing is a screwed version of Gorilla Zoe - Waddle that peaks @ 31hz. I've heard some comments about NightShades not being able to play the lows. Well here's a reality check.

    Nightshade 18"?

So why do they say 1500Rms Is that the least amount of watts to be pushed nicely but can Handle up to 3000 Watts.. That was for the first version, now Jake builds them himself with a longer coil and cooling "stock". There aren't really multiple versions of the 18s. They've always been built in-house. The only differences were if someone wanted a stiffer spider setup.

    Nightshade 18"?

Version 1 was, yes. The currently built Nightshades are still rated 1500rms. Yes they've been known to take more but the rating remains the same. Anyone running 3kwatts or better should do so with caution. And they don't need 3kwatts to get loud. 2kwatts is plenty.

    Sundown Audio Magnum

Honestly, we don't know what it'll do on a burp and don't care. It's plays the lows loud and clean & that's all that matters right now with this. It's a demo car and not a competition vehicle so TL #s mean nothing.

    Testing all the SAZ amps

when you get done testing the 18" 'shades, sell them to me . srsly, ill buy them, im hoping to be running 2 18"s on 2 saz3ks later this year at comps and then at SBN next year Those 18"s were at SBN in a white Dodge Magnum being powered by a pair of saz-3000s @ 0.5ohm. They easily took the power. He ended up taking 2nd place in 139.9 BassRace. They are not for sale though. The current NightShades with the now standard longer coil and cooling option have handled 3kwatts but you must keep in mind that it's still only a 1500w rms sub so control your volume responsibly.

    SAE-1200D 1 ohm stable?

The sae-1200d is a perfect fit with a Fi Bl sub. You'll be plenty happy.

    Testing Sundown z15"s

These subs are great all around. They sound good and can get loud too.

    Testing Sundown z15"s

151s from 3kwatts & 2 15"s that'll play music daily (on 12v below the window line). IMO that's doing alright. Sundown Audio adds the deebeezzz!

    Testing Sundown z15"s

These subs will handle the saz-3000d easily. Their 1,000watts rms is a tad under-rated. Maybe next round of testing we'll get to throw two of each amps on them.

    Testing Sundown z15"s

Did more testing today. 146.8db off the little saz-1000d. Only 12" long. 150.1 with the saz-2000d. 151.1 with the saz-3000d. I wonder what they'll do on the saz-3500d?
  24. Really they're aren't any original NightShade 18"s. What we now refer to as the "OG" original NightShades only came in 12s and 15s. All the Nightshade 18s have been built in-house at Sundown Audio and have received the (now standard) longer coil and cooling feature. Maybe Jacob built a few of the very first ones without but I don't think so. I know he built a few for some guys real early on but my pair were one of the first built when 18" baskets came in stock and they received both the long coil and cooling.

    Z15s are here!

Hopefully today we'll have some pics, vids, and TL #s for you guys.
