    lets talk nightshade

My setup has done a best of 151.8db on a TL legal sealed mic on the windshield. Yes they're still stiff. Before these I ran three Fi Bl 18s powered by a pair of strapped 1500s. The Bls sounded better on music but were no where near as loud. Before that I ran four RF HX2 12s powered by a pair of RF T1ks. The NightShades walk all over those in every aspect. I also played around a little with a pair of TeamRF 12s. The NightShades play music wayyy better and have gotten louder with less power.

    lets talk nightshade

I'm using a pair of stock NightShade dual 1ohm 15s. I tune it up to 45hz for competition and down to 33hz for daily pounding. 1. They are being powered by a pair of 1500s strapped at 1ohm (o.5ohm each). 2. It only gets played wide open during comps. For daily I keep it at a conservative volume level. 3. Well I've pretty much dominated all the competition around here in my class since I bought these subs so I have to say that I like them a lot.

    I want a SUNDOWN1500

Go with the old heat sink for $360. http://www.db-r.com/sell/store/index.php?productID=143 I bought a refurb from dB-r ealier this year and it was in mint condition. Nobody would of ever guessed that it was even used at all. Also don't forget about the warranty. Every other refurbished product I've seen only comes with a 30day warranty. db-r has a 1-year warranty which says a lot about the confidence in their craftsmanship.
  4. Sundown was in attendance big time today. Even Mr. Sundown himself came down to check it out. I hope you had fun and plan on coming down again. We're definately interested in doing a few shows up there in NC.

This Magnum hit a 149.5. It has a Sundown 3000d powering a pair of Fi Bl 18s. The Altima has a pair of Kicker cvr 15s powered by a Sundown 1500d hitting 146s. Trophys Sundown took home many 1st places today.

For those that don't know, this truck is LOUD. A little woofer carnage.
  9. All the regular Sumter guys will be there and I know DJ's bringing his team down from Wilmington. Should be a good time.
  10. Starts at 3pm. Cash payouts for Street Bass competition. http://www.competitiononly.com/show%20flie...20July%2008.jpg http://www.competitiononly.com
  11. I'd go with the 12s in the space available. For 15s to play well in the 32hz range I like a good 3.25-3.5ft net per sub. 12's will do well on the lows in 2.5ft net per.

actual output from sundown 100.2 and 100.4?

Since my 100.2 has 60a worth of fusing I'm gonna guess that it'll do about 550watts full tilt. Even at 4ohm stereo it makes my RF Power 6.5s absolutely scream.

No problem man. I hope I didn't soud like an ass or anything. I appreciate all recommendations & comments. Yes I close my ac vents. No I'm not taping up my subs. I don't like the look of it + my cutouts are tight and the subs are screwed down solid. I have taped up my rear side windows and sunroof but only because they were about to be knocked out.

Ya'll are talking like I'm a newb to this. lol. Yes thats the sweet spot for the box, yes I know the best positioning for my seats, mirrors, & visors, yes I have people hold my back glass & passenger door, etc., etc. I appreciate the help but jeez give me a little credit.

    New best score

I've never personally experienced an increase in spl with sound deadening and I want the truck to remain absolutely stock anyways. They're aren't any tricks here to get the #s I'm getting. Its all in the equipment & I like it that way. More bragging rights IMO and more of a selling point to someone interested in Sundown Audio. With my 3 Optima G31 YellowTops my voltage holds strong. I can burp it engine off and hold 12.9v without flinching. This has me really curious. Jacob/Someone please educate me how this will allow the amplifiers to put out more power and get me more deebeezz. Right now thats sounding a lil ?!?

    Vote for SAZ-1000D!

    Top end: Nightshade NS-4000D High end: SAZ-1000D, SAZ-2000D, SAZ-3000D "Entry" line: SAE-500D, SAE-800D, SAE-1200D Sounds like a perfect line-up to me. Can't wait.

That is actually on my to do list but haven't gotten to it yet. Lately I've been more concerned with dialing in the tuning perfect. Where's the best place to pick up a Maxx Link? Anyone see any used ones for sale? I'm also thinking of adding more port area to the box. In previous 15" setups, adding a fifth 4" port didn't help but that was with less power and lesser subs. I'm thinking with the extra power and stronger subs that lil bit extra area is needed.

The box is 5.8ft net & currently tuned to 45hz.
  22. Bump this up. Comp is tomorrow. Its in Dillon so its close enough for the NC guys to come out as well as the northern SC folks. Hope to see you there.
  23. This one is close for all the North Carolina people. http://www.competitiononly.com/show%20flie...20June%2008.pdf http://www.competitiononly.com
