  1. They are discontinued and will not be made again. A lot of guys were looking for these afterwards. All of them I had in stock sold out immediately as well as the used ones Jacob & I had. I know that when the new saz-2500s come in he'll have several mint condition used saz-2000s for sale. Best way to contact him is through email, sundownz@sundownaudio.com

  2. What are the actual dimensions on your port? Long skinny ports don't tend to do too well and you could be hearing some port noise.

While in my opinion the NightShade is one of the better sounding spl subs out there, keep in mind that it is not an sq sub. No doubt 4 sa-12s will sound much better. For daily listening I loved my 4 sa-12 setup much more than my NightShade 15"s. For sheer loudness the NightShades won by a mile though.

  3. Most likely cause is a box issue. 2nd most likely cause is a setting issue on the amp and/or head unit. Are you running the amps @ 0.5ohm?

I just did some quick math off your pic.

    36" wide x 15.5" tall x 20" deep = 5.17ft gross internal volume

4.5" wide x 14" tall port (63" of port area) = 30" long for a 34hz tune. Your pic does not show total port length so I can't verify tuning.

Assuming tuning is correct then port displacement = 1.24ft Technically it's a little more because of the flares.

    sub displacement = 0.45ft

That means net box volume can't be anymore than 3.48ft. If I calculated for all the angled corners and flares then actual net volume is probably somewhere around 3.25ft. 3.25ft net volume with a 30" long port = 38hz tuning.

  4. Was it purchased new or refurbished? If purchased new then contact Jacob about sending it in to Sundown Audio to get checked out. If purchased refurbished then contact Chris about sending it in to dbr to get checked out. You'll get taken care of.

  5. That's a question better asked in the XS Power section. They're gonna tell you the same stuff you already know. Don't run them above 14.9v daily. The batteries will do it but it will shorten battery life. I recommend either get an adjustable regulator or get the internal regulator set to an acceptable daily operating range of 14.4-14.9v.
