  2. Allstock,

Thanks for the input! I have heard and liked Infinity Kappa's components but I can't justify the money. I'm sure there are better alternatives than the infinity's and the RE's but the price is right on the RE's I can get them for under 110.00 but I can't listen to them no dealer in my area. I find it hard to audition components and other speakers with out actually having them installed in your vehicle. Since every vehicle is different.

  3. I came across a good deal on a set of RE 6.5" components. Not the XXX model just the RE model. Looking for some input from guys using these/have used these in the past. Thinking about swapping these in place of my Kappa 6x9's since one of them is flaky. I'm not looking to compete or anything. This is in my daily driver and will be powered by my Alpine V-drive (60x4) I think it's more like 25-30 rms head unit unless these need there own amp.

  4. I dug this qoute from Scott up. So I guess the answer is yes they will offer them again but as to when....... no idea

I am really wanting to know as well I have a pair that I was going to put in a CC for HT use but I haven't done it since they were all gone before I could pick up 2 more pair for the fronts.

This needs to be featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not. AA comes up with one of the best midrange drivers and then sits on it for 8 months. They could have sold a jazillion of these for the home audio market. It is not a woofer even though it has large Xmax, but it has some of the lowest distortion of any midrange tested. http://www.zaphaudio.com/6.5test/

Anybody know where these were made? I am guessing Taiwan or China.

    Ted

No doubt. I grabbed a pair last year to do a CC with them or possibly put them in my gf's car. Major family medical emergency and I still have them new in box. After reading up on Zaph's testing of them I am dying to do my mains and CC with them. I also want to put a set in the car.

  5. I do have a single 4 coil for the Assassins that will work, but dealers seemed to want dual 4 at about a 4:1 ratio. If I get enough of a call for them, Ill probably make them as well.

I hope they will become available, S4 coils work better for home applications. Unless one of the other lines is better suited for HT?

Oh any idea on the time frame for the 6.5" poly's still need 2 more pair for my fronts.

  6. The - terminal on my xt-25 came completely out when i was disassembling my towers. Didnt have a problem with the + terminal or either on the other towers tweet. I wouldnt think it would be very difficult to pop the back cover off and re-solder it, but upon further inspection theres what looks to be little spots of ca preventing the back cover to come loose from the key-way...should i send it in?

..and is there any possibility i can get ahold of anymore 6.5"s, xt-25's, and these x-over parts anymore?

    thanks

I don't know when you can get the mids again but the XO parts you should be able to get from parts express or madisound all you need is the value of the components. Madisound also sells the xt25 tweeters both the larger flanged ones and the smaller one which I believe is the one you are looking for here is a Link You should also be able to find all the xo parts there too.

  7. 1. Are they still gonna be offered?
Not sure how the crossovers and other HT stuff will fit in. We will definitely keep the 6.5" around in its current form and maybe the old HT info, but it is still up in the air about the rest of the HT stuff.

It will be available through one outlet or another though...

    Thanks,

    Scott
