    Attention SEAS fans

trying to make a decision but wanted some input from the SEAS whores from here to help aid in it. to W18E-001 (E018) 7" magnesium cone woofer or W18EX-001 (E017) 7" magnesium cone woofer, this is the question. building a 3 way front stage and have narrowed it down to these 2. any input to the sound difference would be appreciated, these will be in a door pod and can be sealed off from the other drivers obviously. looking for clarity here as this is being designed as an LSQ system. in advance all comments are appreciated guys and thanks

as i said, temp deal possibly if i havent figured out the processing yet by the time i get to that stage of the game you had mentioned b4 about using a headunit that had a crosover built into it and i havent had much luck finding any, know any model numbers off the top of your head ?

    t215 rockford vs fi bl15

as mentioned b4, cancelation can be a serious problem with mixing as well, if you are not sure what we mean by the term " cancelation" let the search feature do the work for you and read all the stuff you find pertaining to it and let it soak in.. MIXING SUBS FTMFL

SEAS W12CY-001 4.5's and 27TFFNC/G tweets to go along with the 7's, as i stated in my other post on the processing questions i had, the 8's just aint gonna work. that is till i can get the power windows done up, got the old annoying window cranks to work around for a while till that happens. processing is still something i am working on and they will all be ran off thier own dedicated channels on sundown 100.4's. leaving the options open incase the processing side takes me a bit to figure out and i can atleast run the actives on the 100.4's for the time being. and just like in my avatar, its going in a 99 kia Sephia. sorry it took so long to reply, work was nuts today and i spent most of the night till 12:15 am getting the kia in running condition again. 17'000 mile salvage motor FTW

Great subs that never should have been discontinued....

man yer making me wanna go pull my prowler shirt out of the closet lol
  10. ok, here's the situation. i've been out of the game for a while and am jumping back in with both feet but have a little area of concern, i will be running a 100.4 on all my mids and highs for front stage and rear fill but have also been toying with throwing a Audio Control eqs 6 channel crossover at it as well. My concern here is that with all the crossover points between the eqs and the amps, that there will be some serious tuning issues to the point of wanting to pull out what ever hair i have left. ( yes i am considered an old fart in the car audio world now, 33 on wednesday) I am open to suggestions here on which routes to go as far as ditching the idea of the eqs altogether and just using the actives on the 100.4 or using it all in conjunction with one another. And to throw another bottle neck in the loop, the componets i am going with have passives with them as well. as i said, i have been out of the game a while, amps have alot more features on them than i remember seing back in the day. critique this all ya want as well http://www.djkandiman71874.com/stereosystem2.html kick the Infiniti components out and replace them with the Polks listed and you have the list. i await yer comments

well i may have jumped the gun a tad on the 8" idea being no problem, drew up a stensil and threw it up against the lower fiberglass panel i already have done to fit the door pannel and it doesnt leave me room for anything else at all lol. back to the drawing board we go....

space wise from what i have figured with the door enclosures, a 7 or 8 and a 5 and a smaller size tweet shouldnt be an issue. as far as budget goes, i am buying pieces for this basicaly on a weekely basis depending on the price of the piece and i dont really care how long it takes to get the total system completed, SQ systems can gets nuts price wise and i understand that it will just make it a more drawn out project. everything i had picked out on the list you were looking at was over 6 grand so if it goes higher to around 7 or so is just a little more time, but will hopefully be worth the wait as far as the sq goes with the package. hell i was even looking at rainbows too if that gives ya any clues

that has crossed my mind as well, been looking at some SEAS mids as well as Audax , do like a 7" and 5" inch in each door, and those werent to much in my face but i dont want something thats gonna cut my ears off tweeter wise. nice crisp warm sound with good imaging. goal here is a daily sq set up that stays clean at higher volumes but still has the balls in the sub department to throw some serious air movement, thats a big part of the reason why i picked the Fi Q 12's. kinda been browsing around and noticed you have spoke rather highly of the Ca18RNX in the install in your truck, have you had a chance to listen to the w16nx-001's and if so how do they compare. i know people b!tch about the cones on the rockford power series with them being a metal composite cone, was curious if these sound kinda tinny as well or if they are justified in thier higher price due to better sq over the CA's

3 12's, pair of 6 1/2' s in each door and a pair of tweets in each door as well mounted no more than 4 inches from the mids

i havent touched an active crossover in 14 years man, marriage, kids, divorce, married again into a ready made family, havent had the time to do sh!t lol as far as what i have heard as of lately, the Polk Audio DB6501 and the Focal 165A's have caught my ears, once again those are component sets but that will give ya a general jist of what appeals to my ears. and thank god on the drama, they can save that crap for thier momma not sure if ya looked at the link i had in the first post, but the entire system layout is there including the to scale enclosure design

Well the space isnt that big a deal really, doing fiberglass door enclosures as it is so i am open to all kinds of ideas on the mids and highs As far as the music goes, i'm into the metal end of things , bands like Slayer, Testament, Pantera, Dimmu Borgir, and even operatic metal Such as Elis, Epica, Nightwish and Kamelot among many others. typical prog metal, trash and death metal basically. but i listen to a extremely wide variety of music as a whole. On another note, its nice to get a reply from someone for a change that isnt bashing the post right and left like alot of the younger kids seem to like to do. The mature approach is much appreciated... as far as the infiniti's are concerned, i was dumping those and puttign the Polk DB6501 in place of them, but thats neither here nor there if component sets are being dumped altogether..
