  1. Got my baffles 50 percent done this weekend, as well as starting on my door pods. Also went and hung out with chop for a bit. Got some much needed wire. So getting things done slowly but surely. I m hoping I can be done middle of May before our baby is here.

  2. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=121288534084

A few weeks ago I had been in bed sick and was either stir crazy or medicine crazy and bid on and won this auction. Normally I wouldn't have bid on an auction with so little info but I did. I received the sub its in perfect shape looks practically brand new. Only problem is I have no idea what model it is or the vc impedance. Is there any way at all to identify what model this is? Any help a t all would be great. Thanks!

Going to need pictures of the motor to identify which model it is. As for the impedence you can check that with a digital multimeter.

  3. I see you used a pocket hole to assemble this enclosure. I have been thinking of using this method.  From what I have read it is a great method to use in cabinets just not alot of information with our type of application.

Have you been doing that for a while?

    Have you had good success?

Any downfalls to using this method?

Would you recommend it to others?

This is the first enclosure I have used this method, but not the first project as I have used it for several. To me it seems to be just as strong if not stronger than the traditional fastening method, or just glue itself. This specific enclosure has yet to be tested yet, but I think it will be substantial. If you build a lot of boxes or do a lot of woodworking I would suggest it, but it is a bit more work for the end user. Well I guess that depends on how you look at it. Overall it is a great tool and has a lot of good circumstances to where it will be more beneficial than any other fastening method. I'm not sure what brands are out there for this, but KREG has everything you need. They sell a whole kit with instructions which help a lot.

  4. That looks awesome!! thumbs up.

What was applied to the port before you gave him the box to finish?

There was some bondo in some places to cover up the kreg screw holes, but you are talking about the fiberglass resin.

  5. Upgrading all wiring connections ftw!!!

Learning to fab everything yourself, impressive!

    Good job lil bro!

Shit wait til you see what else I've made for this build lol. I have so much to do, just waiting on time. But most everything is just sitting here ready to be put in.

  6. Here is a finished picture of this box. He did the finish on it, I have yet to see it in person this is a picture he sent me. I am soon going to be doing the recones for this kid too. Maybe i can get a demo after that.

  7. Well weather has started to come around, but now I am working 7 days a week. I have everything, just need to throw it all in and expect some magic to happen. No but seriously, I plan on working on it this week before I go to work. Hoping to have it all done and ready to drive in may.

  8. Awesome!

    Any pics yet?

    Xcon....mmmmmmmm.

No pics, still needs everything audio wise. All I have sitting here is the blown xcon lol. But thinking about throwing something in there, maybe by slam who knows. Did go and buy a new battery yesterday along with oil change and spark plugs.

  9. Picked up a Blazer last night. It is a good vehicle, and got it for a reasonable price. Needs normal wear and tear items. Plan on doing a sq oriented build in it. Maybe throw this xcon I have sitting here in the mix. May try a 3 way active setup.

  10. nice on the updates!!

As soon as I get some time I am going to be doing some major work to this thing. All new rear suspension and my amp and battery rack. I was going to get on it this weekend, but have to work all weekend.

  11. Ok, I recently bought a blown sax 100.4 relatively cheap. I did not need it, but wanted to see if I can fix it. I know it needs new rca inputs as one is broken, but I believe it needs a mosfet (that is my guess I have yet to do any testing). Before I go any further where can I purchase amplifier parts from knowing that they are quality parts and exactly what I need. Again this is just something I have wanted to take a crack at for awhile and a lot of people probably think this is stupid, but I am hard headed and like to tear things apart and rebuild them. Lol

  12.

Pics of that battery rack! !!

Will try and get a pic tomorrow. I officially have all the equipment for the build as of today. Just need to install it all now and build baffles and amp rack. Pretty excited to get it done.

Damn Indiana weather isn't going to cooperate :/

Happy for you bro! I am eager to hear this beast!

Looks like warm weather is about a month out... lol

  13. Saying 95% of Fi speakers catching fire is due to user error is a pretty bold statement sir.

I wasn't stating that 95% of the Fi subs that caught fire were user error, only that 95 percent of people with an upgraded audio setup in there vehicle don't really know what they are doing. There was a time I didn't know what I was doing or you and even M5 or Chop or anyone else on this forum. There are more young kids in school that just hook up the shit in their car and turn it up til it is "loud" and bang it til it blows. More of them than there are people like us that buy equipment for a certain reason and hook it up properly and set our amps properly. I am not trying to bash anyone or any company Fi is a great company I have rann several of their subs. This whole deal got blown out of proportion. I got the answers I was looking for. So I am done here...

  14. And I believe ohms law is correct. The incorrect measurements is possible. To me it is user error. Lets face it 95 percent of audio heads really don't know what they are doing. Hell I am puzzled sometimes there is always going to be more for us to learn. With that being said I went to google and just typed subwoofer on fire. Out of the first 3 pages fi was on there once. Most were bose or kicker I think even seen a couple sundown threads. My point is everyone has there favorite brand. And will find any excuse to "bash" any other brand that is just as good or better. I do not have a particular favorite or hatred toward any brand. All have pros and cons and thats how I weigh my Decisions when purchasing a product, with logic... I hate this phone
