  1. So after doing some poking around I find I really like the looks of the versatility of the Zed Lev and the Arc Audio 1200.6. I went to call Zed today and found out the number on their website isn't in service any more, so that didn't give me the warm and fuzzies. So I'm probably going to take a hard look at the Arc amp but I know nothing about Arc, do they have a good rep overall?

I think the amp will fit the bill perfectly since I decided to go with RE XXX 6.5 Comps which seem power hungry and I'm undecided on the sub right now. I would have loved to got my hands on a SI BM MK, but I was about a month to late starting this project.

You did know ssa is a zed vendor right? Your questions could be answered right here. Just an FYI

  2. Ok so i just spent about an hour playing with the amp settings and the ethos. My first impression of them is that damn they are loud! They play so smooth and hit higher notes like crazy and play the lower notes with authority. I've had many different sub stages and these have their own personal sound. I'm very impressed so far. So far I'm hearing and feeling bass from songs that before just weren't that impressive. I really feel like im going to be able to expand my music collection greatly because of how well these subs play. I'll post more once i have more time to play with them but for now im in the middle of moving to a new house and i need to focus all my attention on that.

I said the same thing when I first got my setup rolling. It will continue to impress as time passes.

  3. I doubt you would expect this from me, but this is one you have got to watch/hear. My favorite musician/singer in his offbeat side project. It is Maynard of Tool/A Perfect Circle fame. Killer version of this tune.

    Wake up, son of mine

Momma got something to tell you

    Changes come

    Life will have it's way

    With your pride, son

    Take it like a man

    Hang on, son of mine

A storm is blowing up your horizon

    Changes come

    Keep your dignity

    Take the high road

    Take it like a man

    Listen up, son of mine

Momma got something to tell you

    All about growing pains

    Life will pound away

Where the light don't shine, son

    Take it like a man

Suck it up, son of mine

    Thunder blowing up your horizon

    Changes come (Changes come)

Keep your dignity (Keep your dignity)

Take the high road (Take the high road)

Take it like a man (Take it like a man)

Momma said like the rain (This, too, shall pass)

Like a kidney stone (This, too, shall pass)

It's just a broken heart, son

    This pain will pass away

By far the best concert I have been to. I've seen them twice now.

The version of indigo children they played, i have been trying to find ever since. It was beautiful.

  4. I think I just had my first homosexual experience. I was wiping my ass, and my thumb slipped off the paper. And, well, the rest is history.

LOL Dirty Mofo! The whole thumb?
Once I had the thumb in there already, I just said fuck it and went fist deep. I mean, what more could I do?
    Milk the prostate!

Supposed to let a cute Asian chick do that.

May have to take him with you on the next trip. Before it becomes a personal problem

  6. That vehicle also has a MAP sensor. Is a externally mounted vacuum device. I believe it is on the passenger side of the engine, possibly mounted on the valve cover or firewall. Will be a tiny box with a vacuum line and wires going to it. It is not inside of the air intake like the MAF.

The thing is a vacuum leak in the hose to the map sensor causes the map sensor to indicate a higher than normal pressure (less vacuum) in the manifold, which makes the computer think the engine is under much more load than it really is. As a result, the ignition timing is retarded and the fuel mixture is richened.

So yeah see if you can retrieve the codes as I posted above or go get them read at an auto parts store. Those are all free things you can do, that I posted. Other than change your fuel filter which is not a bad idea. Sometimes can even be replaced without any tools. Google some YouTube videos of all the procedures everybody has suggested. That alone will give you more understanding of your car. Is the only way on a BK budget.

The map sensor just sits on the top of the plenum. As far as the distributor, it has a keyed mount. So unlike old school designs it cannot be changed. However, when it was installed they could have it 1 or so tooth off and the computer can no longer compensate for it.

Not saying that's the problem it has. I am personally curious about the catalytic converter. There is a back pressure gauge you can get to check pressures on either side of the cat.

  7. J the advice I posted was from someone with exactly the same symptoms as you describe on a similar engine build. Wild cam, bored, stroked, ported and polished. Used to be a 289. Ended up closer to a 360cu in. Holley carb.

Just like you he step by step adjusted the carb for our altitude, timing and the like. That's what worked for him.

  8. I think I about have the holley carburetor figured out. I have the idle circuit dialed, I have the transfer slot circuit dialed, and appropriate size jets and power valve.

The vacuum drops to almost 0 when I punch it. I would say there is more likely hesitation than a bog. I believe I should install a larger Excelerator pump nozzle, to introduce more fuel quicker.

Ryan or anybody else have input on this?

    Stock cam?

Does it fall instantly, or gradually, or at high rpm?

  9. I know that is completely not what you wanted to hear but I have spent no less than $3000 on solutions for personal listening.NOTHING in the wild beats in ear monitors that are built to handle stage performance or similar. I see idiots with ove the ears(mostly beats by dre to be fair) and they are ALWAYS a hazard.Tight tucked monitors with cable management is the only was. Period. Andlything else is dangerous at minimum, and dangerous and shitty sounding at worst.

May I ask HOW are they a hazard? How is silence from the outside bullshit dangerous in your opinion? These are literally being purchased just for the gym. Maybe a flight if ABSOLUTELY need be as well. Just wasn't wanting to take the 'back of the truck' Ferrari beats to the gym. I don't sit around and listen to headphones, nor will I be running with them.J
Anything wireless has a battery. It adds weight to your head. If it's over ear or around ear it will be heavy as Fuck. Any exercises where your head moves and they WILL come off at some point. The headstrap is usually an inch over your skull and gets banged by stuff. You sweat and it grosses up the whole unit, makes in slippery....I don't care about noise cancellation as a risk, in ear monitors cancel better than anything anyway. In ear monitors are the most out of the way solution. They are purpose made for you to sweat and move like crazy but not get in the way. The added weight and size of wireless cans make absolutely no sense to me.
I never have had a problem with my wires beats which have batteries as well. Never had an issue with banging the top of my dome while lifting.J
You aren't lifting hard enough.LolI kid I kid.Let's put it into perspective, if musicians don't use wireless headsets, but use in ear monitors because it's more ergonomic why should you.If you don't run, jump rope, jump around or move quick then maybe the wireless can work. It still isn't optimal. Even if a musician is using a wireless audio receiver, the headphones are going to be in ear monitors. They just work better for a situation where you are moving. You gotta do you , but some good in ears with a good wire will not only outlast and outperform wireless headsets, they will also get out of the way more.
On the ears are useless always. Only two options. Over the ear or in the ear. For any situation with noise I'd much prefer the ITE.
No running or jumping around, literally lifting weights, stretching, and maybe once in awhile some stationary bike riding. Thats it.

I can understand the logic behing ITE, and if I Could find any that fit comfortably,I would give them a try. I just have yet to ever find any. Over the ear, is insanely comfortable for me.

These are what I use at the gym. Even on the treadmill they don't fall out.

I used to use my westone lm pro10's only down side was the cord

  10. The new HTC is like the S4 was to the S5. Not worth it. Leap year time.

Since I need a new one though.....

HTC has been my jam for a good while.

not this year, they got leap frogges
    What does one buy then??

I've been hearing rave reviews on the new nexus

  11. I'll just turn on the Marshall stack to 11 and play death metal. Gtfo

Are we talking Slayer or Cannibal Corpse?

Just sayin if you were to start jamming with reign in blood, you may get a crowd

  12. Anyone running nitrogen in their tires? My mechanic put it in the Mustang tires when he mounted them. I had not driven the car before for comparison though.

Nitrogen is used for two reasons, first it's a bigger molecule than air so it doesn't lose pressure. Second is pressure fluctuates with temp, nitrogen holds a more consistent temp. So unless it's for racing or extreme conditions it's just a gimmick rather than help.

  13. Walk behind mower is throwing a hissy fit; carb probably needs a rebuild. Damn near 20 years of service with only routine maintenance up til now, gotta love Toro.

My parents bought toro when they first bought their house 30+ yrs ago. I finally bought them a new self start toro because they couldn't pull start anymore. Damn good machine!

  14. What would you guys recommend for an anti virus?

not watching porn nor opening attachments from shady sources or internet unsaavy friends

That's what I don't understand. I was shopping for a new phone on att&t's website. First and only thing I had done after I upgraded ram, hdd and windows.

  15. What would you guys recommend for an anti virus?

Just for surfing around or do you have specific concerns?

I'm totally spacing my general security software. I'll look it up for you though.

Had a very sketchy blue screen telling me the computer needs to restart. Once it finished I killed the Internet and fired it back up. Seems to work fine just don't want to risk it.

It's windows 8 if it matters.

  16. I'm not interested in ssa subs..almost every time some recommends a sub 90% of the time it's a ssa sub that's why I asked the question in the IA section

Fi Q?? Or I believe the death row is along the same vibe
