Single Q12 going in 2005 jimmy and was wondering if I should just go with the cut sheets found here
http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/44520-q-series-cut-sheets/#entry701997
or should I get someone to design one?
wondering if this would be optimal for good SQ over SPL.
Should I place enclosure against front seats facing sub backwards, upwards, towards front or behind back seats facing up or backwards ??
Looking for SQ quick response over SPL. Wanting ported for better power usage and also heard ported can sound just as good as sealed so went that way and got without high QTS.
Anyone have experience with single 12 in SUV ?
Anyone maybe be able to design an enclosure for me for fun lol ?
Room not a factor as seats can be left down.
Can't wait to get this Q. Waiting really really sucks lol.
Thnx
would prefer sub behind front seats with sub facing up would be really nice. Would love to watch the woofer sometimes lol but if its a dumb idea or not possible for good SQ will def not do. Thnx again for everyones help in my journey back into car audio over the last while.

ummmm very impressive but she don't want no 140+DB's lol I don't think. Looking more for "SQL" leaning on SQ part of that. TBH I'm looking at the Fi X or now ID IDQ v3 12. Only reason I don't
pull the trigger on the Gcon is the 21+ business day just to build. She wants it sooner and honestly I would go nuts just waiting that long for something I paid for. I may pull the trigger If she
isn't happy later on and atleast have a woofer in the car while we wait. Fi X 12 is in the lead atm just because on price. Think $275 shipped atm. I have to pay shipping cause I live in Canada. May choose ID IDQ 12 for $100 more (shipping and duty included on sonix) just because of reviews. Can't find really all that much on the new Fi X12 but lots of good reviews on sound quality and loudnes from the ID IDQ v3 12.
May pull the trigger tomorrow on one of those after my afternoon shift. Must be nice having free shipping in the lower 48 and no duty fees.

Now that my system has begun we are looking to build hers. Just on saturday she decided she wanted to start a system for her Kia Soul. This was decided when she bought an Alpine MRX-M55 amp
because it was on sale at one of local shops.$230 canadian. I was surprised but happy. She bought it then asked if it was a good deal and a good amp. Guy at store recommended it to her. I figure
good amp for that price. Anyways lol.
Looking at Fi X12 or Gcon 12 to pair with this amp.
She loves metal, Club and yes Bieber LOL so pretty much all types of the bass range. I'm thinking Gcon but she says why not the one you got which was Fi.
Any input or other recommendations appreciated. Room is not a real factor for box as we have no kids or anything and seats lie flat all the time. Its kind of an SUV with lots of room surprisingly. Boxy.
I got the Fi Q12 and isnt here let alone installed yet. Figured the X12 or Gcon are very different from the Q so asking the pros here. Thnx
Thinking sealed enclosure also.
Just a thought - The SA-8V.2 is a very nice price. Would she get good "SQL" from that in a good well designed ported enclosure? thinking its an 8 she should get good
punchie bass from her rock/metal and loud enough for her thug rap lol. Anyone know about this woofer and performance? Nothing but great reviews but they seem to mostly consist of "look how loud my 8 is" type reviews.
Amp birth sheet says 588 watts at 2ohm btw.

For fun: If you had to pick one brand for amp, sub, speakers who would you pick and why ?
Let's say $5000 budget on one and one dream no budget build.
omit head unit so more brands to pick from.
SQ build and/or SPL your pick.
Just for fun, curious to everyone's picks.

For sub amp

I thought Polk audio was a solid product? I know precision was good in the late 90's but was unsure today. Audioqubed I've read on but am unsure. Would anyone consider a refurbished
amp or to much of a risk ?
also thnx on the link. made life so much easier lol

Placing an order next Thursday on an Fi Q 12 and some questions. Dual 2 ohm model
I'm putting it in a 2005 Jimmy SUV and building a ported box to specs found here http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/44520-q-series-cut-sheets/
After changing my mind 100 times will be powering it with what all you fine people recommend.
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_34595_Precision_Power_BK18001D.aspx THIS
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_30249_Polk_Audio_PA_D10001.aspx THIS or
http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html THIS..
Also wondering should I run it at 2 ohms to break it in or just go 1ohm load right off the bat and be careful?
What options should I pick up when I make the order? ported so no High QMS
Do I need heat ring ? internal ring ? Cooling ? P chamber ? Spider ?
Thnx for your help and can't wait to own this wooofer.
Want SQ over SPL. listen to all types of music but want to be able to feel the bass when I want to. Clean bass is my main objective.
Also am I gonna have to ubgrade any electrical in my vehicle with this much power ? Also gonna have 4 channel for speakers later on when I have the money. Thnx

Anyone know if they under rate the 1200 watts at 1ohm ? Noticed no CEA-2006 compliance sticker on website so curious to peoples experiance.
Would anyone consider NVX JAD1200.1 as a replacement ?
http://www.nvx.com/amplifiers-1/jad12001.html CEA-2006 compliant and interesting promises/stats.
http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html Awesome reviews and recommended.
Both same price ish. Thnx

would any of you even consider the NVX JAD1200.1 mono amp over the Soundqubed Q1-1200D ??
http://www.nvx.com/amplifiers-1/jad12001.html
http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html
Can't find any CEA-2006 compliant on the Soundqubed but awesome reviews.
CEA-2006 compliant on NVX with very interesting promises/stats.
both about the same price
both small companies.

anything on the woofers they offer ? anyone hear them before ?

So no more then an hour ago I had a post about a Focal amp I found on WoofersEtc.com for 200 bucks but then someone recommended an NVX amp. I checked out the website which i'll link below and
was impressed with the gear and information provided. What they had to say about there company and videos I watched I figured they are definitely worth a look. As of now I am looking at Soundqubed
for my amps but I can get NVX amps for a little cheaper and from what I saw they look better. Anyone have experience with this company ?? They formed in 2011 according to the website and the gear looks impressive. I'm even looking at the VCW122 12' dual 2 woofer. Stats look good. FI Q12 is what I'm looking at now. Sound Quality over SPL is my goal for all types of music. So what people think?
Soundqubed amps are Q1-1200D + Q4-120
NVX amps are Jad1200.1 + Jad800.4 (prices are cheaper on sonic)

Out of all the brands i've looked at in the last couple months haven't seen or read anything on NVX or heard of tbh. Just checked out the website and couple videos and noticed they are
only couple years old. Say's on website the are all about quality. Anyone here try them or know about them ?? Price wise noticed I could do the one you linked Brutal and get the Jad 1200 for
less then the 2 SoundQubed I was looking at. Are they very high quality ? Have they proven themselves? How are the woofers ? I'm looking mainly SQ then spl secondary. Looking at FIQ12 atm.

Ok so with more crossover control I can tweak with the sound coming from my speakers until I really like it and not so much with the 2 I listed? Would my deck Pioneer DEH-80prs not be able
to or come close in tweaking the sound from my speakers enough ? Bought that deck due to all the eq features. Sorry Im learning if what I say hurts your head lol
SQ amp similar to SA amp in crossover features Shogen ?

No real set budget just not wanting to waste money. After reading and researching couldn't see a reason not to go with the Soundqubed Q4-120 for 300 bucks. Now I find this Focal for 200.
Am I going to notice a difference if I spend 200 hundred bucks or 500 like the SA amp is ? Is the difference noticeable in performance ? Am I loosing sound/SQ from my speakers ? I am a noob
and looking for advise with explanation. Says retail on the Focal is $550 but is on clearance price. In the end I want quality but I am the type of person that loves a deal and to save money.
Why spend more on one amp if the performance/quality is no different?

So Found this on WoofersETC today and was wondering on opinions. I am going to get the Soundqubed Q4-120 but from what I've read in the last few months Focal is VERY VERY good but expensive.
After seeing this Focal amp for 200bucks i'm thinking did I find a sweet deal or is it a bottom line amp from focal that isn't worth it and spend the extra 100bucks on the Soundqubed? Opinions please. thnx.
Focal- http://www.woofersetc.com/p-6762-solid4-focal-4-ch-400-watt-amplifier-black.aspx
Soundqubed- http://www.soundqubed.com/Q4-120_p_150.html
Please let me know of any other 4 channel amp to run 6.5 component Hertz HSK 165 set that you believe is very good. Want quality with good clean power. under 500 bucks please.

planning on purchasing the Q1-1200D and running a FI Q12 at 1 ohm producing 1200watts. If I were to switch the FI Q12 for say an SSA Gcon 12 rated at 750rms and running the Q1-1200D at 2 ohms
producing 870watts would the response/SQ etc. be different ? What I'm really wondering is stressing the amp at 1 ohm pushing the Q12 produce not as good clear/SQ/responsive bass then running
it at 2ohms with a Gcon 12? Or for comparing purposes say the ICON 12 with Q1-1200D at 1 ohm vs the GCON 12 with Q1 at 2 ohms produce a different sound ? I'm not asking for SPL/LOUD but
a difference in sound clarity/response etc. in the bass. I hope my question is clear LOL. My main goal is good sounding not sloppy sounding for all types of music but still thump in a 2005 jimmy SUV.
thnx for reponse.

Any plans on 8' enclosures?

During my night shift last night noticed the Nakamichi PA-1500 was the same price as the Soundqubed Q1-1200D. Is the Nakamichi the same quality it is famous for? Are they at the same level quality
wise as the Q1-1200D or even better ? I've read how awesome Nakamichi was in the day but having troubles finding up to date info on the quality of there products? Also anyone hear the SPW-1210
their 12' woofer ? Any good compared to say Fi Q12 or SSA ICON 12? How are their components ? Any information on Nakamichi would be appreciated as the prices seem to be very cheap atm and
I'm thinking quality might have gone down as well. Their 4 channel amp any good too? They claim to be all about SQ is this true?

Ok so after a couple months of research and asking questions on this forum ( Thank you to everyone who answered and gave me their honest opinion ) I have begun to build my system. No its not
anything amazing but it is awesome to me lol. First I will list what I have planned and then I will ask my questions and ask for your feedback and advice. Thnx
Vehicle - 2005 Jimmy 2door 4x4
Headunit- Pioneer DEH-80PRS (ordered)
Speakers- Hertz HSK 165 6.5's 2way component up front. (unsure on install placement yet. Factory is door but thinking custom placement wedged between wind shield and dash facing driver/passenger) (purchasing at store I heard them at when headunit arrives, sounded amazing and tweeter didn't hurt my ears lol)
Woofer- Fi Q 12' or Icon 12 (flipped on this decision 100 times. Honestly listing both cause when I do buy this I will choose then. I will probably have both on comp screen and decide then. Once I click
the purchase button is the only time this will be decided I'm thinking.)
Amps- Soundqubed Q4-120 for speakers (Soundqubed=AQ btw. they have new name)
Soundqubed Q1-1200D for woofer.
Enclosure- Building 2 maybe 3 a little different from each other to hear differences. Starting point from box designs supplied from manufacturer. All to be ported. Doing this cause I can and will be fun to me. Maybe try one sealed but dought it.
Ok any opinion/criticism appreciated. My questions atm are for install. I am not able to do this on my own and will be taking it to an install shop. I do not have the knowledge nor will I watch a youtube
video and then try lol. My knowledge on electrical is nada so seems like a good reason to pay someone with the knowledge to do it. As I don't have the money just laying under my mattress I have to
buy this system piece by piece. Every month I should be able to get another piece. Headunit already purchased and money for speakers set aside.
My question is when I take the headunit and speakers to be installed should I ask them to run the wiring for everything now or should I wait? To you installers out there how should I approach this with
the shop. Will I save money getting the wires all run the first time I take it in or should I just do deck and speakers first then wire as I go? Sorry if these questions hurt your head just want to do this
right the first time. Thank you again to everyone who helped me the last month on these forums. I've been unable to accomplish my car audio needs for years but now I can.
O am I missing anything on my list? new alternator/battery or whatever. Thinking of sound deadening doors and what not. Wherever its just a panel I can pull off and put back on with the clips.
Thnx again.
