  1. Well here we go....

Pioneer - Head Units; I don't care what anyone thinks, Pioneer still makes the best head units, period. I have left one out in the rain overnight, then stepped on it the next morning, and it was still like new.

Crystal Mobilesound - CMP, COMP, CMPx2; I would do almost anything to get my hands on a couple 12" or a single 15" CMPx2. I have never heard one, but I know that they have awesome sound quality and a flat response, and can get exceptionally loud if needed. Overall a phenom.

Resonant Engineering - all woofers; The best woofers that money can buy, period. There really isn't much else to say. I can't wait until I get money for a new head unit so I can finally hear my HC's that I've had for over a year.

Planet Audio - amplifiers; IMHO, one of the top two affordable amps out there. I have only ran Planet Audio amps, and will continue to do so. Excellent features, durability, and longevity.

Memphis - amplifiers; Right there along with Planet Audio for the top spot of best amplifier that most can afford. They are gorgeous and powerful.

Audiocontrol - EQ; Everyone knows how handy these are...

Image Dynamics - IDMAX, IDQ v.2; Some of the best sounding woofers out there, especially for the price. I have also heard great things about the comps and horns.

Stereo Integrity - Magnum D2; The company that brought a new meaning to "crisp SPL". Nick made one hell of a driver.

Treo Engineering - CSX, SSX, SS; Pure SPL stuff, period. Not to mention the SS's are sexy.

Incriminator Audio - woofers; I have never personally heard any of their products, but just from the way they market and from what other people say about them, they made my list. They don't care about looks or being mainstream, just regular guys like us who love audio, especially SPL.......

Peerless - everything; Peerless, IMO, has set a new benchmark for affordable sound quality. Their XLS line of woofers are extremely crisp and clean, and their products can be had extremely affordably on Parts Express website.

Soundstream - woofers, amps; What else can I say about Soundstream? They have withstood the test of time, and continue to make good stuff. However, I believe that their older products may have been a tad better than the new stuff. Regardless, check out the Exact line.

PPI - amps; I put PPI on here solely for the reason that they made Art series amplifiers. Probably one of the top three best amp lines ever made, and they are sexy as hell. I only wish that I owned a MOS40 and an A1200....

  2. When I build enclosures, I take a little shortcut. I go to Home Depot and buy the wood, then pay them 10 cents per cut to give the pieces I need. They have a huge "wall saw" where they can just slide the wood in, measure it up, and drag a saw down the metal cylinder for a clean, perfect cut every time. I just design the pieces I need before I go in there, then tell them what I need, and they cut it for me. The first 6 cuts are free, then after that they are only 10 cents.

  3. Oh yea that was done by own every Scott Stoner... dunno if anyone picked that up.

Scott and I are from the same hometown of Vincennes Indiana. I remember when he first got sponsored by Adire, I was one of the first people to hear the Brahma 10. Sad thing was, I didn't know jack crap about audio then, so he would have no idea who I am now....

  4. Don't doubt the quality of Memphis subs..... go down and compete in Tenessee or Kentucky and you will find some people hitting very high numbers with Memphis.

As for the shop guy, where is that at? I live in Greenwood, but there is a shop about 10 minutes away called "Car Stereo Exchange" that sells Memphis and ADS and McIntosh. Is that where you were at?

I doubt that an 88 dollar Memphis sub could be louder than your SeXXX in optimum conditions, but top-o-the-line Memphis subs like the LVS up there would give it a serious run for it's money.
