Running 2 amps to 1 sub?

Thats why I said not to do it, he is asking us if he can run 2 of them to 1 sub, that means he had NO IDEA what hes doing. i just wanted to be fully truthful to him if he burns his ish up then its on him. but to get this out there i have a o-scope and still would not do so. i would buy a new amp first.

Running 2 amps to 1 sub?

whether they are strappable are not. the answer is yes, but the catch. if they are not strappable each amp needs to run one coil, and the problem with that is they need to be gain matched as close to perfect as possible. and if it is not close enough to perfect you will ruin the sub. it is for this reason it is not recommended. and even if you use a o-scope to get them perfect each amp will not put out exactly the same amount as one another so the sub may not perform optimally. if they ar strappable then it just makes it easier.

    voice coils needed

i am trying to find a couple of voice coils that will fit my needs. either dual4 or daul2 ohms. 3 inch of course. and it needs to be able to soak up about 2000rms it is for a custom 3hp that has an extra half inch of magnet, and a gap that is machined a little larger than normal the sub is being built for daily use, i am trying to make it a low end beast, and 2000rms will be it's limit, because of the suspension i am using will only handle around 2000rms. i have the measurements in case that helps. top plate to bottoming out is 4.166" outer diameter of gap is 3.455" inner diameter of gap is 2.934" if you can help me i need two of them. the goal is to have 4 inches peak to peak. the frame, and spacer pack i have will allow this i just need the coils to go with this. i am looking for as long of a coil that will take full advantage of the available room, for the most amount of peak to peak movement. the last coil i used with one of these motors had a winding length of 2.75" and it was a little on the short side to take full advantage of the motors clearance.

    Audio pulse REVO 15"

they have the potential to do what you want as long as you get the power, and box right. you might have to build a few boxes to finally get it just right, but the tc9 is a very nice motor with a lot of potential.

    my soon to be 12's

the same cone used on tc sound oem's and tc sound built la storms (don't remember which version) called a carbon fiber honeycomb cone

    my soon to be 12's

well i will be building these as soon as i find some coils that will do the job. after some consulting i have been informed the coils i was going to use won't be optimum with these motors. but here are some pics of what i have as of now.

    my soon to be 12's

tc sounds/ audiopulse/ lighting audio baskets. doesn't matter all the same build house. motors are from my understanding one offs, based off of 3hp's from tc sounds. they have a half inch more magnet, and a larger gap.

    machined adapters!!!!!!

    thank you

    machined adapters!!!!!!

well i am going to build a couple of twelves here in the next couple of weeks, and i was trying to find a couple of threaded adapters that tc sounds used for these type of top plates. and of course i just can't find any, except for robot underground, but he wants 80 bucks a piece so i got with our in house machinist and made these up. they are designed to be a interference fit that way when mounted sideways they won't shift from the weight. the id is a couple hundredths smaller than the threads on the motors. i will have to make some 1/4-20 guide rods out of 3" bolts to align the adapters, because they will have to be heated with a propane torch to expand them first.

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived

the Xcon is meant to sound as good if not better then the Icon and have a ton of linear movement while handling some serious power. well if you accomplish this in the end i have a Taurus and a opti6000d waiting for a couple of these.

    Eclipse Titanium Recone?

i want the basket as i build subs myself he can keep the motor and send it to fi and get the works i don't care what it looks like the basket can be cleaned off with a grinder. if he still wants to sell it let me know.

    Eclipse Titanium Recone?

yes he will need to send it in so they can make an adapter to bolt a 12 spoke to that motor. i will buy the bad top assembly off of him, as all fi needs is the motor. let me know if he wants some money to go towards his new recone.
  19. the opti's are powerful amps that will do rated. you just got to remember they are rated at 14.4v. i would get new subs if i was in your position, and sell the ssd's to help offset the cost on the new ones.
  20. nah at one point i had 30 different subs i have a whole room dedicated to subs.

    6 4" aero ports & 6 DD1508's?

a slot port can also be easier to design into the box as some 8's require ridiculously small boxes, in turn requiring very long ports. not saying this is true with the dd's as i have no experience with them.

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived

I'd love to see a comparable sub to the XXX come out without near the price tag. well considering that you are getting something that is really one of very few that can do what it does. it share very little technology from other subs with tons of R and D. i don't think the price is bad. if you pay msrp then yes it is crazy. but all you have to do is find a dealer on a forum, take about 6 months or so to become good friends. and then you can pick up a 15 for 1000 to 800 bucks. and that is a good deal when you look at what it is.

the price is what was getting my attention also, but i think i am going to hang on to those particular funds, and wait out to see what this new ssa eventually turns into first. i just bought an "a". ed hate or not, its a product, and im sure interested in trying it out! i will be interested in this woofer as well, but for a diff. purpose i think:D wow you and a ed product imagine that! man i miss you on the roe. in a non homosexual way lol. im not. ben is a jerk. but, the woofer is cheap, and im always game to try something (im even getting a mag!) so, hey why not. and ya, dont care to reregister there, its a shame.
