    Downfire enclosure in Jeep Wrangler?

Thanks for the reply Polish. Somehow I completely spaced off the fact i was measuring external not internal dimensions so that definitely sways me a little bit. I am just going back to my original plan of running 2, I highly doubt adding another will be that audible anyways, I just had it so thought why not use it. I believe the displacement is .1 per sub, and I'm looking at tuning it @ 35. I thought they only needed 1-1.25 per sub, but either way, if I am only running 2 that should make it a little easier to make work. I have never dealt with a downfire setup so not sure if it is optimal or not. Hopefully somebody out there has info on this

    Downfire enclosure in Jeep Wrangler?

The rear seats fold up. I have 38.5 x 16 x 20 to work with, I figured that should be enough room, but if not I can always just run 2 it's not that big of a deal
  3. I'm trying to figure out an enclosure configuration for 3 SA-10s, just not sure which way to go. Was looking at doing a downfire enclosure with an aeroport(s) firing to the side,. Just curious if there is any drawbacks to something like this. I like the idea of it being less visible, as well being a little more protected from the elements if the top is down. If it's a terrible idea, I'm all ears for better options. Thanks

    first jeep...need some speaker advice

I think i must have confused the ppi size with something else i looked at, not that big at all so I'm going with that. Im sure the ia amp is good i just can't see myself dropping the cash for it. With the money i would save my components could be covered. I'll hit up don about the deadening and see what he suggests

    first jeep...need some speaker advice

@ lithium the pods are sealed. I thought about deading the inside but wasn't sure if it would be a good or bad idea. I've been going back and forth on the 900.4. I don't really need that much power, and it is a little larger than some of the others I'm looking at, but if I can find a place to hide it I'll probably go that route as it seems to be a great bang for your buck amp with plenty of headroom to spare @ cableguy It is complletly bone stock right now so nothing exciting to see yet I'm afraid, but it is gecko green to match my bright and colorful personality @ armykyle1 & gprestonmoto thanks for the input. Haven't ruled out the IA's yet

    first jeep...need some speaker advice

Thanks lithium. I forgot to mention the 6.5s are in the dash around knee level in little pods. Not sure if that will help or hurt the sound, I've always had door speakers, and this is new to me. the only components I previously had were polk db's, but to me they were decent, I'm sure with a better install they could have been better. I have also had some pioneers in the past that I enjoyed, although they were not components. I would like to have a more laid back tweeter., nothing too "bright" I am more of a mellow kind of guy. I actually looked at those bravox speakers previously. I could probably do the 5.25s without much effort. I haven't decided on an amp, but have been looking at the jbl ez amps as well as the alpine mrx series. Something with a smaller footprint with some headroom should i decide to get brave and go active one day. The budget is not that big of a concern at this point, as I am still planning. If it costs a little more to get what I want, I'll just save a little longer! I'm gonna listen to some sets today although I'm not sure best buy will have a whole lot to check out.
  7. Bought a 2013 jeep wrangler 2 dr a few weeks back, and it definitely needs some audio upgrades. have been looking at components, but still pretty new to them and looking for any advice or guidance on what to look for before I waste my money. So far i have been looking at the following. Around $200 Jbl ms62- seems to have pretty good feedback id ctx, cxs- mixed reviews sundown 6.5cs- not alot of feedback but seems positive other than a few "lacking tweeter" comments massive ck6x - Haven't seen much on these crescendo mezzo- not out yet, look good, but tweeter may not work with stock location on dash? Around $100 pioneer d series- mostly positve some negative tweeter comments ia 6.5- not much, but positive from what i've seen I'm no audiophile so I probably will be fine with anything, but I would rather ask then go down the wrong road and be mad at myself later. The top will be off in the summer so I need something that will sound decent at higher volumes with any music. Along with midbass in case my subs are removed due to hauling stuff, people. Maybe that's alot to ask, I'm not sure, but thats why I'm here. Any ideas or advice are more than welcome, if any more info is needed just let me know. Thanks for reading

    budget sub ideas

So I got laid off and decided to do a very budget center console sub build for my dodge ram qc. Just looking for opinions, good or bad on the following Phoenix gold rsd memphis pr jbl gt5 alpine type s Also open to suggestions in the $50 - $100/sub range. This is kind of a challenge to see what I can come up with on limited funds, not expecting any miracles. Haven't decided single or multiple sub set up yet, I am sure single would be the popular vote, though not as fun I listen to mostly hip hop, so ported is preferred, but not that big of a deal. The amp will be bought after subs are selected. Any other info needed let me know Thanks for reading Chad

    btl box ideas

3 cubes with 48 square inches of port what would that put the tuning at?

    btl box ideas

Honestly I am not really expecting the greatest sq out of the set up. The box right now has around 34 square inches of port. It was meant for an icon, so obviously the specs aren't quite where I want them, but it was in was in the recommended range so I thought I would try it out. I almost made a 3 cube box before, but I was worried it might be to big. Thanks for the input guys it should help get me by for a little while longer until I am left wanting more again

    btl box ideas

ok so heres the deal. I currently have a 12" btl in a 2.25 @ 32 enclosure being run off a crunch gp3000pro. It is loud don't get me wrong, but of course I am always looking for a little more. So I am thinking of building a new enclosure for it and I am just looking for ideas. Thought about tuning to around 35, but not sure if it would be worth it or not. This is the first single sub set up I have had so maybe I am just setting my expectations to high, i dunno. I figure I might as well try a new enclosure before I jump into a whole new set up, so any suggestions are welcome!

    Head unit/amp suggestions

Thanks for the input, I forgot all about clarion in my searching. I haven't ruled out pioneer altogether, just looking for good alternatives as well.
