Looking good! You're going to be loud. Just out of curiosity, why did you end up using the PAP WMDS?

Battery. Within the first 18" of wire, a fuse. Wire back to distro block. Fust IMMEDIATELY after the distro block. Then to the amps.
You'll need 2 sets of RCA cables.
You've got the right idea.

After those are glued down, I'm cutting a hole in the top large enough to put the amps in. Then I'm building another panel to cover that which will be held down with magnets.
EDIT: Spelling error.

Note to all box builders: Never throw away your scraps! I've made this ENTIRE thing out of scraps I had left over from my entertainment center. The top, as seen above, is four separate pieces that are all cut to the same size. They'll be held down by Titebond and brad nails with a common support beam running all the way across the back on the bottom of the overhang.

Okay, got a little more done today. These pieces are NOT glued down. I need to wait for my fans before I glue anymore.

I CAN'T wait to hear what you think of the Eclipse HU? I will probably try one in my next build.
I won't be missing a thing in your build as I spend most of my time on SSA in the build logs.
I LOVE SSA!!!
It might be tough to find one like mine used. Luckily, m5 had one used. I'll have reviews on EVERYTHING once the whole system is done.

Sadly i wont be home within the next two weekends so you'll have to keep productive without me unfortunately. Did you get the speakers and stuff ordered yet? I'm eager to get home simply to work on the build
I haven't. I need to get the floor done and the amps mounted first. I can't use those speakers without the amplifiers and I can't use the amplifiers with out the new HU it. And I can't have music until I have the amps in if I put the new HU in...lol
So it's going to be a big all at once thing once the floor gets done.

You Sir do VERY CLEAN work. I always love seeing someone taking thier time with the thinking and planning, AS the pateince shows in the final product.
I will be tuned in. (I have been since you started)
Thanks Jay, I've been watching yours too! I've got some really neat stuff planned for this one, so make sure you don't turn your head!

I cant believe you started this without me...talk about ruining a grown mans life. looking good buddy. keep up the good work
Well the fans and magnets won't be here for 5-10 days, and I can't do anything until then.

Ugh. I want a Leviathon so bad..

Okay, here is the start of my amp rack/false floor.
Titebond, clamps, and brad nails. You need NOTHING more.

Like the enclosure and amp rack idea!
It's rough, like I said. I've already made a few changes in the first few steps

Started the false floor tonight. We'll see how far I get. I'll make sure I have pictures up tonight for you whores.

Looks nice!

You're probably not going to want to purchase prefab kick panels either. You'll want to glass them.

How about taking your rears and moving them to the front on a custom baffle. That way you'll have the larger, louder speakers in the front and you can finally ditch the rears.

Here is a little Sketch-Up I did tonight. It's really rough, but it's the general idea of what I have planned. I want to hide my equipment as much as possible. I did a little thinking and searching and found a temperature controller for a PC that I'm going to wiring in with a relay. The holes in the front of the rack will house PC fans that will only run when it reaches a certain temperature.

I'd shy away from that one. If you want a quality unit, you'll have to pay for a quality unit. That's something you're not going to want to cheap out on.

Looking good man! Keep going strong!

It depends on what type of amplification and processing power you have.

Not sure he's used them yet, but they are in his closet. Perhaps nothing comes out of the closet though
bahaha.
Starting to design my false floor tonight. Roughly. Trying to get ideas on how stealthy I can make this

I've made my mind up. ER18 + HDS + DCON.
0 -
Yummy, which large format?
I'm pretty set on the ScanSpeak HDS.
For the mid I was thinking of the ER18 that you had mentioned. I have a concern, that may actually not be a concern at all, about this. While looking at the frequency response graph I noticed that there is a drop off down low. Higher than I think I would like? Maybe not? ...help me...
I'll be running a sealed Dcon for the subbass department.
HDS
Adrian, do you have any input on which mid to run? 6-7"

I dont know if this is a big deal..

You'll be fine. Assuming he didn't prod it hard enough to bend it..lol. Now had he done that while it was playing music, you could have rocked the coil and had some serious issues.
**Take your hand on the cone and press down firmly enough to compress the suspension a LITTLE. Listed and see if you hear any rubbing sounds coming from the coil against the pole piece or magnet.
