I run 1 3k on four now at .25 daily. I want to run 6 subs and want to go in power but stay under 5000 watts. Can I use a phone spliter on the gain knob and control all 3 amps that way?

    Jacob's Jeep : 4x SA-12s + 4500D = 153.8 dB

Dam....How does it sound on music? Is the box good for a daily setup? I'm building a copy of it this weekend. I know what it does in the lanes but I'm a ground pounder at heart. So I'm hoping I can do numbers and sound good.

    Jacob's Jeep : 4x SA-12s + 4500D = 153.8 dB

Jacob do you think it is possible to do 150 on music with this setup in my car with my 3k or would I need more power. I do 47's burps with the prefab boxes I had in the car and 145-46's on music. Derick sent me the design and i'm going to build it after Streetspl finials. Are going to that show? Its Sunday in Garner.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

I don't want you guys to think I don't support sundown. I run sundown in my car and in my wife's car. I've been a team member for almost 3yrs now. When i can afford to carry a larger inventory. then I will carry Sundown. But right now I have to keep the overhead low. So that means I can't have stuff sitting on the shelf. Yes I can spend more time talking to customer into buying some Sundown or I can sell them what they ask for so I can get back in the install bay to put the stuff in there car. I don't how big your local shops are but in mine its just me and my partner. We are the salesmen and the installers.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

There is no way for a shop to match the internet prices. Those big companys and buy in bulk. So what they are selling stuff for most of the time is what the shop pays for it. But unlike the internet if you have a problem with something you get from a shop then you can go back to shop and get the problem fixed the same day. You don't have to shipped it back and wait for another one to come back. Its great to get stuff at dealer cost until you have a problem with it. Would suck to buy a deck offline and then have to send it back. So then have no music for weeks.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

And then the customer turns around and walks out the door, and you just lost a sale. It's easy to say "you could just" when it's not your money, paycheck and business on the line. Badmouthing another product to try to sell your own is a pretty terrible sales tactic, and one that's sure to drive the customer straight out of the door. Just the same as the people on here get offended when the shops bad mouth Sundown, a customer is definitely going to get offended when you bad mouth a product they own or like in order to push Sundown. If a customer walks in the door with $500 for a couple subs and an amp, if you can't meet their needs they are going to go somewhere that can. If a customer walks in looking for a specific product, if you can't mee their needs, they are going to go somewhere that can. Pushing Sundown on everyone who walks through the door is going to put a smaller shop out of business pretty quickly. A lot of people already have a pretty good idea of what they want before they walk through the door. If you can't meet their request, they're going to go elsewhere. A business owners goal is to make money. The way to make money is to offer products the customers desire, not to only sell them products you like. That's the route to failure. I'm not saying that no shop should carry Sundown or other smaller companies. Certainly it can work well for certain shops. But it is not going to be the right fit for every shop's business model, making it sound like it should be simply means you don't understand business. Well put. You can't force A product on the customer. You find out what they are looking for and what there budget is. And most only want to spend 400-500 for there whole setup. The customer that come in and wants to spend 2-3k I'll be more then happy to set them up with a nice sundown setup. But for 400-500 there is no way to make that happen. In the last 6 month I've only had 1 customer to spend more then 2k in 1 pop. And half of that was spend on remote start/alarm and window tint. What you guys are not seeing is that most people spend 500 or less. Most of the money made at my shop is window tint, alarms and installing junk people buy from the pawn shops. The person that comes in and spend 2-3k are not a every day thing. May around tax time I'll pull some Sundown in. People have more money to spend and don't mind spending it.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

The "Buy In" is very respectable and Sundown is very lenient on the monthly terms. Not sure how you cannot stock any product! If you run the Sundown product how can you not stock anything? All it takes is a small system to get peoples attention. When you have a shop as small as mine. Then you carry what sells. I have all the paper work to become a dealer. And its not the buy-in, its the fact that if I do order it. It will sit around for months. Small shop need to have a fast turn around. Not only do I have all the bills for the shop that need to be paid, there are still the bills at home that need to be paid also. I need to make a profit everyday so I can keep the doors open and food on the table. So I can't have 2-3k worth on stuff just sitting around. When you have 1 bay and your stock room is your show room then you got to do good work and you got to have a inventory that move. Just because you like brand doesn't mean its something that you need to carry. Shop owner pick the brand that sells the best for them. I would like to carry brand like Sundown, DC, IA and some other but they just wouldn't sell fast. And I need to keep my over head low until this shop is off the ground.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

My car is all sundown and people that just come by to hear it. But at the same time people like to stick with what they know. The best selling product in the shop are the Crunch ground pounder sub 100 for a 12" and Audio pipe 1500 for 250 So for alittle more then 500 they can have a system. The Sundown 1500 would cost that alone. 90% of the people that come into the shop don't care about TL number they just want the trunk to rattle. Alot of them just get in the car turn it up and get out to see how much it rattles. I will add Sundown but I need to grow alittle more so if it doesn't sell Quick atless it won't hurt my bottom line. Beside If it stay in the shop to long I would to fight myself not to put it my car....lol

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

Ok being I just open a shop a few months ago. A this time I don't carry Sundown but I do run all Sundown in my car. The only reason I'm not carring Sundown is The buy-in. Its not that its high But at the same time We are a small shop and can't have a bunch of equiment sitting on a shelf. People around here never heard of Sundown and people seem to want what every one else has. I can sell the SA's For the same price as a Kicker CVR but every one want the CVR's becaused there friend has one. Sundown will be in my shop soon but its going to have to wait until after we move to a better location in Sept.
