Awesome man! Glad to see you finally got it. When you get that Xcon running I might have to make a stop in VA to hear it!

Staying with the BRZ line. Its their 2011 model. I have the brz1700 now and I love it. I have heard excellent things from the new models though! I also have the zeus 80.4 so I am trying to make everything match and look pretty haha. Thanks for the help though!

Thanks man. Good meeting you as well. Your car def has amazing SQ and gets down for shallow mounts. You will def enjoy that Xcon man. We will have to meet up when you get your Xcon/Box and when I get my box. Dave said about 2-3 more weeks. Our plan with the box changed (for the better) and it will now have three diff tunings using add-on ports. 28-29hz for daily, 45hz for SPL and 20hz for fun because I really enjoyed that one trunk car we saw doing 145+ at 17hz haha. BTW my voltage is back up and not dropping past 14v (I was so angry that day lol). I am also upgrading the Hifonics brz1700 to the 2400 for my twelves. Maybe we can meet in like Richmond or something

Whenever I get my box from Dave The Box Guy.. I am going to seal my trunk like so... I will cut a piece of long cardboard that matches the front of the box but as long and tall as the trunk opening (Sub holes and port will be cut out.) I will attach the cardboard to the front of the box and put black 3M vinyl wrap around the front of the cardboard and box to make it look all pretty. I would use ply wood or mdf instead of cardboard if you can.. I will duct tape the back of the cardboard to the trunk sides, bottom and top to seal it off along with some deadining. Also, I will reinforce the back of the cardboard by duct taping the back of the box to the cardboard for more sealing. This will be a lot easier to explain with pictures but as soon as my box arrives i will post a build log. Hope this helps lol.

Awesome buy! I love the old Buicks! Def tuned in to see what you are going to do!

I love Plastidip haha. I use it all the time. That looks good on the Hifonics!

I would use foam but I don't wanna chance anything and mess up my brand new car's trunk because I have never used it before lol. Thats why I am going to use damping material, duct tape, cardboard and that black car cover stuff. It sounds like it will look like crap but I will make it work and look all pretty lol. I really do like the multiple baffle for the opening from the trunk to the cabin that you did on the box, it will def make it look clean and easier to seal off. Did you decide on a new amp yet? I saw your sig says you got something new coming.

Hell yea man, go for the EVILs, those subs are amazing haha. On a side note, I have been to Yokosuka a couple of times. I am a Submariner in the Navy. A lot of drunken times in the Honch! lol Loving the build BTW. Good stuff!

I agree with bigjon, get some used equipment. You can get a lot of stuff on here for a decent price and barely used. IMO I really like Sundown and SSA. Both have awesome customer service and products. Are you trying to compete or just have a nice soud quality daily system? What kind of music do you listen to?

Lol. Yea I love the lows.. and my car doesn't gain much at all when I tune high so I just keep it low lol. . . I went from tuning low 30s to around 40 with a few builds and only gained like .3 Same with my car. I usually keep it around 32-34Hz and I can slam like 26 hz but this time I am going to try lower because the only music I have been listening to is Decafs low stuff. I live in an apartment so I don't have anywhere to build a box so Davetheboxguy is hooking me up. As soon as the box comes in I am starting my build. Wish I had money for the zcons, super jealous haha Going to have a build log for it? As soon as I get my box I am def going to do a build log. It will be 2 sa-12s (on 1700 rms for now) sealed off the trunk of a 2012 Ford Focus Sedan. I have the subs and some other things for it already but I wanna wait till the box gets here to start the log. Not sure if this has been said but how are you planning on sealing it off?

I bet it's killing you not having your bass haha. It's gonna be all worth it in the end! Can't wait to see some vids too. 30Hz? Youre gonna slam them looowwwss! I'm about to do a trunk build with some sa-12s tuned to about 28Hz, I love them lows haha. EDIT: Its gonna be the unltimate budget build with cardboard, duct tape and some 3M black matte cover to make it look pretty lol

I would totally go for the Xcon. Those subs are built for the loooooowwws. Let us know which sub you pick!

This is an awesome build man. You def have some skills. Love the clean work and it shows you don't have to buy new things to impress people.

http://www.gtacarkits.com/mazda3_2004_2008_car_kit.php Its a little on the expensive side though. Thats basically going to be his best bet if he wants to keep his stock head unit.

I am having the hardest time trying to dl them. How did you guys DL it?
-
This is gonna be sick. The box is starting to look good too. What do you think you will tune it to? You going for SPL or just some daily bumpin? Def tuned in though

EPIC-160 - AudioControl In Dash Bass Maximizer W/ 160dB SPL Display
grayta replied to grayta's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That's what I thought, people told me I could produce more lows and I am putting my sa-12s in a 28hz tuned box soon so thought it would be a good idea. Thanks for the input, I just found a huge discussion on it and have decided that I am not going to get it because I really only listen to bass enhanced music. -
I was thinking about getting one of these (http://www.audiocontrol.com/14152/products/EPIC--160-In--dash-Car-Audio-Bass-Processor-and-160-dB-SPL-Display.html). Anyone have experience with them? I have always just used my headunit and the PAC LC1 to turn up my bass and it sounds fine but some people say it really does help improve your system's bass . I also heard that you really shouldn't use this product if you listen to bass enhanced music such as decaf/dj slow n throw/etc.. and thats mainly what I listen too. Do you all think it will improve my system if I mainly listen to the music stated above? Or do you think It wouldn't sound any different? What do you guys think? Thanks.

Yea you can get them on Amazon and through Woofers Etc for around $199. I have searched the web numerous times and found little reviews about this guy so I figured why not ask the forums and see if anyone has some input on them. I hear its good and then I hear it's bad for my music taste/ set up haha. Thanks for the input though man! Curious to see what everyone else has to say.
