Just because your amp is rated for a certain amount of power doesn't mean you have to send the sub that much power. So I adjust the amount of power going to the sub by adjusting my gains, or is there another method

What do you mean plug it into an enclosure?

I am trying to plug this sub into the wins id program and I need a couple more specs than the site gives. Le? dia? z?

A gotta call from a friend of mine this morning. He just bought this... http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2006/produc...IO_wof_mofo.htm He was asking all kinds of questions about it and I told him that I didn't know much about power acoustik's stuff. So here I am again. Does anyone have any experience with this sub? Loud? sound quality? will it run at rated power? I know this is kind of general without box specs but I haven't measured his truck yet so I do not have them. Just in general has anyone ever heard these things because I have pretty much stayed away from power acoustik.

He is pretty set on his budget. Also the box is gonna be about 3.4 to 3.5 cubes before port displacement.

He is very amatuer in all of this. Not saying that I am an expert but he still believes that a big cone + high watts= loud. So these things really sound that bad, huh? If he can return it what would be a good 15 for around $200. All he cares about is loud, loud, and more loud. Also he has about 1500 watts at 1 ohm to push to it.

If you have the know how and the time, fiberglass and paint are the way to go.

When building a common chamber ported box for four subs do I take the suggested enclosure volume for the sub and multiply it by the number of subs. ex. A sub requires 1.25 cub. feet minimum. The enclosure is going to have 4 of these subs does that mean that the box should be 5 cubes since 1.25 x 4 = 5

well said, why Kicker for Spl ? not the best for what your trying to do... CVRs burn way to easy / the CVXs break off where the cone meets the coil if you over power it... as for common chamber build a deviding wall between the subs the depth of the sub to help loading the port... hitts harder that way without devideing walls with 4x 15" SS T4s did a 149.3db added walls did a 154.1db i.e. without with I am doing one of those setups because that is the two choices that the guy has. He said that he can get them at a great price. I'm just doing the box.

what do you mean by power compression?

The box would be a console in a 92 gmc southern comfort sierra 1500. Gross cubes on the enclosures will be 3.5-4cubes. The tuning would be somewhere around 35hz. I know this is kinda vague but I'm trying to do this for someone and he says that these are his two choices in subbs. It took over an hour to convince him that he wasn't gonna have room for the 4 cvr's ported.

how does a truck with a bed cover and blowthrough come into to all of this mix? pros, cons

I'm sorry I didn't actually mean competing. When I said spl I just meant which will be louder if they are installed in a box fit to kicker's standards.

In that case which would be better for spl . . . . 4 KICKER CVR's sealed or 2 KICKER CVX's ported on 1200wrms?

what if I cannot reach the entire inside of the box through the subwoofer holes?

Hey I'm doin a build for a guy. He wants a fiberglass console. I am trying to see what materials I am going to need. (mdf, resin, and fleece.) Is that all? Also when I build the box do I just bulid the skeleton, stretch the fleece over it, and paint on the resin? I've bbuilt several boxes but never done much fiberglass so all info is appreciated.

I haven't looked at any specs on the DP drivers but in my experience with doing blowthroughs, bandpass is the way to go. I've done three 4th order blowthroughs and one series tuned 6th order. could you send a link or something on building a bbandpass. I have never built one.

I have a gmc single cab ruck. I already have a bed cover and am planning on doing a full blow through (cutting out everything under the back glass) and replacing the back glass with lexan. My problem is that I want to run two dp 21's on a 40.1 but I don't think I will have enough room to run the two subs and the port into the cab. So my decision is probably gonna be between 2 21's with the port somewhere in the bed or 2 18's with the port blowing into the cab. Which of these setups would be the loudest for daily spl? If anyone has any ideas on another way to do this I am open to suggestions. Thanx in advance.

I can definitely wait. How big does the port have to be for 2 of the 21's?

If you're talking about cubic feet I'm not sure yet but if you are talking about the cutout, the cutout can be up to 65x26 inches.

Personally I would Get a Leer Topper Go with the 21s (daily spl why not a wind machine!?) Why Lexan? Joe I'm goin with lexan because I don't wanna have to keep replacing glass.
