  1. I have two questions...

    1. How much power can a fully loaded BTL take daily?

    2. I plan to get an ia40.1 amp and run it on a 16 volt charging system. The setup will be in a blowthrough box in a 92 GMC. I am only worried about getting extremely loud. Which of these setups would be better two fully loaded btl's or three "stock" btl's?

  2. I know its a little off topic but is there anywhere online where I can by some felt to do some fiberglass work and is there any specific kind of felt I should use.

  3. Let's see a vid, for real man.

I gotta find a camera that I can record vids with. lol I'm gonna fiberglass it this weekend I'll post pics then. Can't show it off til its done lol. I am gonna post it all as soon as I can though.

  4. I finally installed my icon 15 in my truck. I had tried it in a friends box but today i put it in the console box I built. It bis 3.75 cubes tuned to 32 hz. I LOVE IT!!!

It flexes my roof and all four windows and still sounds very clean. Just wanted to thank everyone for talking me into getting it instead of the kicker L7. Also thanks to SSA for making an incredible sub.

  5. I have been running mine for a couple of months at 0.5 (0.35 DCR) and I LOVE to play them full power. No problems at all. Man they make some series power at 0.5. You can pick them up used around $700-750 - worth every penny :D

Man nick, I hope you don't have something coming that is going to make we want to change amps. . . I am finally almost happy with my system.

any idea what kind of output you're getting at 0.5? I know its gonna vary from setup to setup but I'm just trying get an estimate.

  6. How about the following since i am still researching--

    3 Fi BL 10s...

    3 SSA ICON 10s

Subs must be under 100lbs... I think the FIs are more than that but can't confirm that and nobody knows the weight of the ICONs supposedly...

I just got my icon 15 last week and it weighs in around thirty lbs. so 3 10's shouldn't surpass your 100lb. limit. By the way the icon is a very incredible sub. Mine is in 3.5 cu. ft. tuned to 32. It gets crazy loud and is possibly the best sounding sub I have ever heard.

  7. if your design is suppose to have the ports 7" long, then the entire assembly needs to be 7" long.

So, if the flare is already 4", for example, then you only need 3" of tubing.

wrong...the entire port needs to be (1) inch longer than 7 inches...im looking at the formula

where is that formula located? Could you post a link please?

  8. I am planning a box design in which I am using two 3" aero ports. The ports are supposed to be 7 inches long. My question is when using aero ports does the actual tube have to be seven inches or does the entire port assembly (flares included) need to be 7 inches?

  9. i'm in the same boat right now, 2005 silverado, around 19" of height in the bed, about 50" wide(inbetween wheel humps)

    i'm going with 2 18" Q's, sealed box

my biggest problem, or question, is:

should the subs be angled towards the bed?

    or towards the tonneau?

i saw one build that had the subs pointed towards the bed, but the box was ported

    cheers

    btw, i'm new here, cheers

I was about 2 start a topic on this also. I am gonna be doing a blowthrough with 4 of the new ssa 18' s. What would be the best way to do this. I have the exact same truck as 18BTLnBagged bbut mine is single cab. Any help would be really appreciated.

  10. a few years ago some friends bet me i couldnt drink a whole bottle of pepto bismol and i put it all down so its something thats stuck with me..lol

Thats pretty cool. lol Funny as hell though. Thanks for all the advice I can't wait for my sub to get here now. I'm building an all wood console then covering it with fiberglass and a paint job. Its gonna be awesome.

  11. Finally I am looking for a 15" sub for my truck. The box is going to be about 3.75 cubes tuned to 33 with appr. 1200 wrms.

Here are the two subs I have narrowed down to...

    15" Kicker L7 for $185 shipped

    15" SSA Icon $230 shipped

I have never heard an icon but I have read great reviews on them. I have dealt with kicker for a few years now and have always been satisfied with their subs. My question is will the ssa icon be noticeably better street beating than the L7 even though the L7 has more cone area.

  12. I am extremely interested in buying a ssa icon 15 but I am concerned because my amp puts out 1500 wrms @ 1 ohm. Will the icon hold up to that kinda power?

Just because your amp is rated for a certain amount of power doesn't mean you have to send the sub that much power.

So I adjust the amount of power going to the sub by adjusting my gains, or is there another method
