  1. Gp has some iirc... shouldn't be hard to find.. pretty sure almost all the big alt guys make trailblazer setups. Wish I never got rid of mine now that I have a ford lol

They have triples and I saw someone selling a used quad alt on the trailvoy forum maybe 2yrs back, when I 1st got my trailblazer

  2. also interested in time frame and price point?

how would these do in 4.4cubes with 78in^2 port per sub tuned to like 43hz on a pair of xp1400ds per sub? that's my current setup... I'm thinking steller for power box I'm not quite sure as I've never used an SD sub....

oh yeah and how much do they weight? moving large 70lbs subs out of vertical baffles can be a pita LOL and also double baffles that're flush are easier to pull out if the woofers are lighter imo.

loving the 4 layer coil I think it'd be a perfect replacement for my AQ HD3s american ones with the 4 layer copper coils..

4.4 is a little large -- but they should still do fine.

If you are running the XP1400s @ 1 ohm each they should do well.

They are actually deceptively heavy... they are smaller physically than the NS v.1 overall but have more steel, so they weigh aboutt he same.

currently I run them in strapped pairs at 1ohm-.75ohm depending on the driver/load I have. they seem to like .35 per amp just fine LOL.. I could do double tinsels possibly, if it's available?

also I see 18"s in the line up with those would the boxes I have be too small for them on like 2500rms+ each? I figured its small for an 18" but if I'm running them with alot of power I'd like them to be under control mechanically so it may work is what I'm thinking. however not the optimal ground pounder size imo from my experience w/18"s most like at least 6-6.5 cubes... I know you can squeeze them into smaller just not sure how well it'd do for demo's/ground pounding. still well capable of hitting numbers in some cases more so than large boxes kinda vehicle app and power related imo. and I don't have the small spl hatch or power to need small boxes by my standards lol

man I hope to see a pair of these soon :)

  4. I posted here since I figured more than one person probably has a blown one so I may help answer for the next guy :) . anyway, my buddy blew his assasin 10" and I was wondering if we could get a recone kit instead of ship the sub in? don't think the sub is worth that much lol

  5. i'm sure jacob has a digital caliper, if not you can always buy one from harbour freight for like $20. it makes this all much easier :)

wouldn't you still have to set the heights? like Jacob said, gap is huge so any ole coils should fit...

Jacob - I take it you recommend a fat copper to add enough weight to drop the FS?

I think FI could make a few good coins if they got ahold of a motor and were making drop in recones for these :D probably gonna help alot of people who're numb enough to get them LOL

  6. imo, it would be best for them to get a motor and setup a recone kit around it, rather than not know height to glue the former to the cone or spiders or something of the sort :D

you should send them the motor on one so they can have the stats of that laying around somewhere ;) then you could possibly order recones down the road or other weirdo's could  j/k

  7. Man, I want my cones to be like that!

And if theres a dude that will do anything to help ya out, its Scott. When I had my BTLs and all the problems, he was there every step of the way. Thats the reason why Fi has blown up so big around here.

why has eminence and such crap blown up around there? that is the true question

I've never even seen anyone running eminence in their car.... wth are U talking about? I sure want to stay far away from whatever you've been smokin :puzzled: around this forum eminence and other stuff has blown up? maybe people like to blow stuff up but don't want to blow up nice stuff :Dhttp://realmofexcursion.com/videos/TC%20Sounds/tc2+8.1a.wmv I blow up decent stuff sometimes... I beat the heck out of my MT 18" too before I reconed it once, but don't remember what I did with the vids :( it's ok, hopefully I can get me more FIs like BLs or BTLs and when I want to recone them I could do the same :seesaw:

  8. wow basshead... 5?? hehe....wow! I know they are just 10's..but wow...whatcha gonna use to push those? (amp wise?)

they don't take very much power... I have a mids amp that could properly power them all... I actually want like 4, but 5 so I can get a better discount LMAO... gonna give the other to one of my boys or something.... maybe trade it for something... I traded a pair of RE 8's for 7 0awg ring terminals once locally LOL... traded my RE MT 18" for an alpine deck... I do strange things sometimes... I ran 8 eD 9kv2s when they 1st came out in my car... weren't very impressive though so I put the MT 18" back in... obviously that was before I traded it... my single soloX 10" was louder than all 8 of them LOL... are are my wifes 2 10"s :D

I actually have a pair of 1800w amps I may use one of them... but I don't really look forward to blowing a bunch of subs that it would cost alot to recone.. I prefer blowing one big sub as shipping recones are the same price regaurdless of type of recone LOL

  9. here's a small vid since I never got around to it before :Dhttp://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u175/ha...igherresvid.flv

ok, I have no IDEA where to start, 1st I'd like to thank Scott and the guys at FI for helping me while in a helpless situation!

OK, these weren't your average recone, they had to machine adapter plates to get the 12 spoke baskets even compatible with my motors because the bolt patterns aren't the same... they had to tap them so the 12 spoke basket could be screwed into the spacer/adapter and drill through holes so I could bolt the adapter to the top plate of my motors.... THEN, there was a mishap in shipping and the original recones/basket/parts and my FI shirts and stickers were all lost in never never land I suppose LOL.... Anyway Scott being the stand up guy that he is told me he'd make a new set and I didn't even have to worry about ANYTHING, I didn't ever possibly imagine he'd of made that easy work of an insurance claim and sending me new stuff... I can only imagine the man hours going into the rings alone is well over the cost of quite a few recones... but I suppose since I'm not a machinest I couldn't really say...

ok, so I get the recones... and guess what, they even came with speaker terminals, and screws to screw the baskets to the adapters, AND TWO sets of dustcaps, crushproof and full cone... I don't even know what to say about all this, besides THANK YOU, yet again :)

I've done recones before so with total disregard for what Scott told me against using quick set epoxy I couldn't help myself

as you can probably see in the pix, I was in a hurry so I used the epoxy packaging for my coil shimming  and it seems to of worked fine :)

    2103960_222_full.jpg

one down, one to go :)

    2103960_219_full.jpg

slapped them in my wifes jetta trunk and they're good for a 143.6dB car closed new termlab on music peaking around 40hz, song was Fabolous and Nate Dogg - Popo's lmao... Wife's gonna run that song for the small competition this coming friday, they use an audio control 180 I'm fairly sure at this shop, so if it stays consistent she'll do just a hair above a 150 flat :D hope she brings home the gold again, she won a comp in Feb so it'll be her 2nd 1st place of the year, the other was on a termlab :D always playing music :) these are 10"s btw, was so stoked I realized I didn't mention it...

    2307586_81_full.jpg

thanks again for the MAJOR save of these motors and I can't wait to sell them and move on to some BLs, I'm looking forward to getting them, I'm hoping someone shows interest in these if she wins her class :D thanks again BIG TIME! I'll sport the FI stickers on the car :D ...

I'll try to get some vids up, I'll edit this post and add links :D BIG THANKS AGAIN TO SCOTT AND THE FI TEAM! NO WHERE ELSE BABY!

  10. I had the strangest feeling the magnets may not be magnetized... I remember TC sending a bunch of subs to eD non magnetized a while back, at least I think it was eD... it's not too common but happens.. glad you're bumping now!

on a side note, all half decent amps I've had I've run at least half of their rated impedience even my hifonics merlin did .5ohm dcr running sealed box subs... so imo, if an amp can't play for a little while 1/2 of rated imp it DAMM well better do alot of power @ rated lowest imp as well as doubled rated imp so when the subs are moving they still get good power...

  11. x2 on the power, the hk4000d would be the best choice from MA if you HAVE to go with MA.

I think he was saying you'll need more runs of power or a better ground by asking about the front/back voltages :D

I've heard the Atomic amps are sick the 5000.1 and 7000.1

Maxxsonics new Crunch GP3000 is a sick little amp too, supposed to be affordable whatever that equates too

American Bass VFL 500.1s are starting to float around the net and those are sweet amps too, louder than the SS XXX by like 2db according to a post on termpro :D

  12. the bass wars comp? wasn't that an audio control spl180 mic? loudest on the island? what does he hit car sealed on a TL? Sky has one in oahu... didn't know anyone else had one... I know I have one, and Impact auto styling here on the big island have them..

as for termlab's being really tight they're consistent from one here to one in the UK. and they're just more accurate than audio controls ;)

  13. errr... 800w + BTL = ???

k...kkk... ggGHAAHAAA... sorry, that one got me too, a pair of vfl500.1s put me in a 1000watts and I'll be able to get me a pair of SSD 10"s :D:P yeah, them vfls are no slouch... I'd take the 500.1s :D

  14. I'm fairly sure it can be done, but the price probably won't be much more if it helps, and I think that motor is better suited for 15" or smaller and that is one of the reasons TC offers it for such ;) hope I helped :D

  15. those amps are stiffly regulated and do rated power off one batt at 12v :D so yeah, you're getting full power, a HO alt with that amp will just keep the amp alive longer... mine has been dead for 2 years and I'm still trying to get it fixed :(
