Fi 12" BTL sealed trunk enclosure

Not really a fan of port back sub back for me. This is a link to to a couple boxes accomplishing what I am trying to do minus the center port... maybe it will help explain what im tryna say http://www.caraudio.com/forum/enclosure-design-construction-help/411222-trunk-wall.html#post6244757
  3. I'm currently thinking about building a box for a 12 btl with both the sub and the port aimed into the cabin, sealing off the trunk from the cabin. I have looked at tons of boxes doing this but they all port on either the right or left side of the box. I often have 4 people in my car so this would mean the seats would have to remain up giving the port very little room to breath. My middle seat has an arm rest that comes down and my idea was to have the box port right there so that i can just put the arm rest down and give the port a place to breath. My question is can i port the box in the middle and place the sub to either the right or left of the port. I don't have a in-depth understanding how pressure works inside a box but I'm now trying to do something that would kill db. Hopefully you can understand what im trying to explain but thanks for any help that u can provide.

    Current Box Plan ok?

This is my current box plans for the 1 18"BTL and 1 Saz-3000d I have. I plan on putting all these into a 03 Tiburon(hatch) and competing in spl. Really my only question is would a bigger box better/ is 5.27 cubic feet enough. Thanks box: (outer dimensions) heighth = 16.5 width = 36 depth = 21.5 port: (inner dimensions) heighth = 5 width = 7 length = 10 this port will tune the box to about 34.67 hz which is what i personally like to tune mine to. after port displacement...this will give you about 5.27 cubes of air. so you have room to brace it and not go below the recommended volume. this is also assuming that you're using 3/4 MDF. competition port: (inner dimensions) heighth = 5 width = 9 length = 5 this port will tune the box to about 46.21 hz for comps. you can add to the width if you wanna tune higher, or take away to tune a little lower. after port displacement...this will give you about 5.39 cubes of air

    Options

Thanks alot! Now I have run into the problem that i need a box. The dimensions my trunk(hatch so I'm not sure if i measured it right) are W 33in, L 36in, H 16in. Also what should I tune by box at. I know I'm going to have to keep testing and rebuilding.

    Options

OK, I'm going to buy 1 18" BTL today and I need to know what options to go with. I want to compete in SPL but I do sometimes want to be able to listen to music. I'm running it with a SAZ-3000 and I don't ever plan on adding another Sub. (I could never fit another) Yup so what options should i get?? thanks

    One 18" BTL

So i guess i don't have the money to go with my original plan and get 2 12s each with a SAZ-3000 on them so i have a new plan. I wanna compete in SPL and occasionally be able to listen to music and i drive a 03 Tiburon GT. How would 1 18" BTL (fully loaded) with one SAZ-3000 do? (i do have the electrical system to run it) Also if i do this what should my box be? Thanks
  11. Hey I own a 03 Tiburon GT and am planing on putting in 2 12" BLTs with 2 SAZ-3000ds. I want to compete in SPL but also want to be able to listen to music (not as important). What type of box should i get ported or seal and should I get a wall or will it just be a waste of wood. I don't want to do a wall unless it will boost me db. Thanks for the help, I don't have a clue what to do.

    Shops

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good car audio shops in Ohio (Columbus would be best) that have worked with Fi audio before and could do a custom wall for 2 12" BTLs and probably 2 TD20001 r/f amps. I like competing in meca's car shows (SPL) and i don't think i should do the box like originally was going to. Thanks
