    Remote and bassboost on 1500

Say the actual gain on the amp is set half way. Does that mean that if i use the remote at 100%, its actually only doing the half-power i set at the amp? sorry for the questions, and thanks for the replies

    using nut and bolt

then do you just use caulk to seal around the wires? x2. i was going to make a topic soon asking what people did when they just passed the wires straight through haha.

SENDING A SSD 18 TO EUROPE ?? people from Fi ??

No point in buying it from the us, and doubling or tripling the cost of the sub in shipping. It'd be cheaper from bladeice after all that.

Pioneer W2502SPL common chamber (VW Rabbit)

Nice work with the box... how does that affect the port length (if it does at all)?

    Calculating Port Length??

Thanks, i think i figured it out. Pretty sure i prefer just using the equation instead of using box calculators. But yeah i just added end correction to the port length in the equation and it gave me what the port will actually sound like (34.336 hz). Thanks for the replies, i was just stuck on that for awhile.

Who wants a FREE DP 18?

No one in my area would ever think of looking outside kicker, sony and mtx, so i can't help here. wish i could; seems pretty interesting and congrats to whoever wins this haha

    Calculating Port Length??

Nope i didnt, hahah that'd be it. thanks for that. Because everyone says RE is off by a little, i wanted to find out how much so i could add some port length if i had to. <<thats the equation from jls site, and for the net volume Vb, do i use all the volume, or do i take out the port volume?

    2007 Altima Build Log

I've always been curious, is it kinda hard to take out the seats and carpet in a vehicle? Bout to put my first install in, and i have a feeling its only going to build up to bigger and better things haha.
  9. I'm interested in one of the 1500s, i'm assuming since they were used by team sundown theyre not too beat up, but is there any way i can have you hold (if you still have them) one for me until the weekend of May 30? Parents sure aren't gonna loan me a few for something they find stupid, so i have to wait until i have the money then. They might not even be all sold by then, but i just wanted to see if it would be alright, i really dont want to miss out on this. Thanks for reading, Mitch.

    Forum is broke...

I guess that kinda explains why the site wouldn't load at all for me last night.. it made me appreciate this site much more. I went crazy without it.. lol Edit: got excited too soon, before i actually tried to get to a forum. I cant get into any of them
  12. Yeah i thought that'd get some attention. I've got a freind that has 2 12" MA Hardkore (actually not as bad as i thought theyd be), and he has a Boss 3000 watt amp powering them. I smirked a little when i saw the amp he had on them, and it got me curious, what do you guys think/know the actual rms on this thing is? And how does boss even get away with overrating them so d4mn much? The title is a joke, and only intended to get some attention and maybe get a few people frustrated.

3000 Watt boss amp powering my 18" Bl

Did you read anything other than the title? read the very first post. Haha, no actually I didn't. I was just disgusted by the title. Sorry about that. I don't have enough experience with Boss to comment on how much it puts out, LMAO. I would agree with the 500-600 watt estimate. lol, yeah i actually thought everybody was going to skip reading, and go straight to bashing, i was surprised they even read it (i probably would've gone straight to bashing too, lol). 500-600 watts.. amazing how they can get away with that. I told my freind i was paying either $350 for a used sundown 1500, or $300 for a new 2000 watt hifonics. He said thats crazy, and he could just sell me his '3000' watt Boss amp for $125. I politely turned down the offer lol. I gotta say, the boss amps sure are shiny though.

I know I have a car audio addiction when......

X2 . Algebra II is a good excuse to get the calculator out and put in different dimensions for your next box, and figure out how long it will be until you can buy the next thing for your setup .

Oooh ,well like i said i've only heard about them once or twice.. but anyone know some answers the the post 2 above this?

3000 Watt boss amp powering my 18" Bl

Threadjacking my own thread here, but i've heard about the orion cocepts (i think there was a 97.2 and 97.3, dr. johnson), but would anyone like to elaborate? what was the point of it? and it was never actually stable at the ohm levels where it said it could make 1000 watts at .00xxxx ohms was it?
  17. QuestionMan

    2 18's in a Ford Ranger

Nice man. Not thread jacking, but i saw your dodge (i think it was yours) and you said you had a 12 Bl. I've got an extended cab dodge, and just curious to how it sounds in there (i think yours was a reg. cab though). Gotta say, i'm very jealous of your freind haha

  19. QuestionMan

35 hz too high for daily BL?

Well i asked quite awhile back what i should tune to if i wanted a loud daily listener, and most people stated 33-35 hz. It turns out that the box i've made is 34.97xx, so i just want the final word from people before i seal up the box and have to live with it. I mainly listen to rock and rap, and want it to be loud, but won't be visiting a TL anytime soon. Edit: Sub: 18" Bl. Box: 6.3 cu ft, tuned to 34.97xx. amp: would love sundown, but may have to settle for a bxi2006d (which would be alright for me, just would prefer the sundown)
  20. QuestionMan

35 hz too high for daily BL?

damnit jimj, i might be re-reconsidering, lol. anyone else with experience on tuning the BLs? As to the music, depends what kind of mood i'm in. I'm pretty varied, but i mostly listen to rap and alternative rock.
  21. QuestionMan

35 hz too high for daily BL?

Eh i could somewhat easily change it, but i was more wondering if i'd made a big mistake (i think i worry a little to much on the little things when it comes to this hahah). Thanks for the reply, i'm pretty sure even at 35 hz it will have decent lows, so i think im going to just keep it. Just out of curiosity, how bigs your box?
  22. QuestionMan

3000 Watt boss amp powering my 18" Bl

Lol he's had it for awhile.. and when he first got it, i was in a state of mind where 3000 watts is 3000 watts. I've been enlightened . But really, how do companies like boss get away with that?
  23. QuestionMan

    Mounting bl

This is my first time to mount a sub (have to learn sometime, eh?), so bare with me. The screw holes, when i look through them, i see the foam/rubber that extends from the surround. If i stretch the circle with the screw holes, i can barely get past the outer rim of the basket; making it impossible to screw the opposite side in. SO my question is, how exactly do i screw (or bolt, undecided) the thing in? I know to pilot/predrill my holes, its just i dont know how to safely do it.
  24. QuestionMan

    Mounting bl

Ok i understand everything that you've told me.. but i do have another ?. The gasket, when i press on it to surround the sub firmly, the opposite side that i press on has a gap, as the gasket is too big. My guess is that this goes away for the most part when i actualy use screws in all of the holes (am i right?)
  25. QuestionMan

    Mounting bl

and this is where my subwoofer illiteracy slaps me in the face. You said to take the gasket (thats the part with the holes in it for the screws, right?). And then you told me not to screw through the gasket... well why wouldn't i screw through it? the holes are there right? or is my terminology way off? lol Edit: Scratch that, i went and looked on the underside and found the pilot holes. I guess it will be better once i get screws in, but for now it seems like when i try to line up the holes, the gasket is to wide. If i try to press it on one side, the opposite side extends out too far.
