    will this amp setup work?

Oh yeah, budget wise, i only want to spend about 600 tops on the sub and amp, that was one of the main reasons. I considered the alpine shallows, but they are hella expensive(300ish ebay/amazon for sub and then alpine amp 2-300) . The kenwoods are closer to 4"(i believe) and i want the box to be about 6-8" deep tops(going in car trunk). also, i heard mb quarts are like almost 3", but i'm not familiar with the brand.
  2. Here's the thing, i was considering getting 2 - 12" older model p3s, 2ohm subwoofers, Power Handling (Watts RMS): 400 Watts RMS 800 Watts Max With this amp http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p1000x2 Rated Power (RMS Continuous Power): 300 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm 500 Watts x 2 @ 2-Ohm wired with the 2ohm version If i can't find the older ones in 2ohm, i've come across the 4ohms, but wiring them would only deliver 300 watts, is this enough or do i have to get the 10"(which only require 300)? going in the trunk of a car, have 39" width and want to do less than 8" deep, ~16-18 high(considering leaving a spot on the box for the amp). will post up a drawing later(i have a couple tasks i need to take care of when i get home)

    will this amp setup work?

my dad had rf in his old truck and it was legit, basically good experience. im open to suggestions though. also, i dont like the cosmetics on the pioneer and some of the other models, i like the simplistic look of the older rf

    will this amp setup work?

huh? its 400w rms, so i wouldnt push it past 850 if i cant find the 2 ohms? or is there a reason for choosing 4 ohms over 2 ohms? this option would send 200w less to each sub and be 100w under the suggested power lvls

Best shallow subs for my truck

i was going to do 2 10/12 rfs in my trunk, i totally forgot about alpine. i did consider JLs but they are kinda pricey and for the amount spent, i could get 2 rfs. i only considered these 2 subs because they look sweet. i have to search the net for the RF because i want the older model, not the new one(probs check on ebay). have u done anything yet? i already kinda sketched up a box plan totaling at about 10 cu inches per sub( 16 x 14 x 7-1/2)
  6. doesnt obama cover shipping? /lol just read the last couple posts, and i agree. we, as americans, want it all but not the work that comes with it. however, the appliances breaking earlier than expected is due to technology and advances that come with it. knowing very well that you must have the latest and greatest, companies fabricate their goods with this in mind.(/conspiracies) warranties are also a business, with most warranties maxing out at about 5 yrs. we are spoiled, we have smart phones costing $400, tablets, whether it be samsung, nooks, or iPhones/iPads which somehow have convinced people that their model they bought last year is no longer anygood and look this new one is shiny!, rawr reptar m'fka!

Bang for Buck Shallow Mount Sub. 10's

thanks, gonna check this out and see what i want now, lol. from what i understand(correct meif im wrong) hatchbacks and suvs are the best vehicles for banging out with the latter being the best. the thing is, these would be going in my trunk, so it wouldnt sound as loud.

Bang for Buck Shallow Mount Sub. 10's

ah fk, put it off again, until i needed my trunk space -.- so what do ya think? http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=107996 rf t600-2 Rated Power (RMS Continuous Power): 200 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm 300 Watts x 2 @ 2-Ohm 600 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohm Bridged 1-Ohm x 2 Stable 2-Ohm x 1 Bridged Stable Total Power (Sum of Rated Power): 600 Watts RMS with 2 of these http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=120425 P3S 10" Nominal Impedance: Dual 2-Ohm Power Handling (Watts RMS): 300 Watts RMS 600 Watts MAX wired i was trying to get a deal on a single JL 13TW5, but it fell through

Bang for Buck Shallow Mount Sub. 10's

im in the same boat, i was considering 2 RF shallows 10s or one JL 13TW5, i could get the 2 rfs and amp for about 400-600 while the jl with amp would rune be 600-800, so i am also unsure. the RFs are 3.65 mounting http://www.rockfordf...x?itemid=120427 the JL is 2.54 http://www.jlaudio.c...r-drivers-92181 rf also has an 8", 2.66 depth tho http://www.rockfordf...x?itemid=233191 i decided to contemplate(lol) on buying the JL but never got around to actually purchasing it. i currently have an old 13w1 in a ported box and it takes up too much space in my trunk. i was considering getting a 13w6 at a time but have decided against taht due to me needing to utilize my trunk at times(luggage, etc) its an audi a5, so i dont really have much space to work with . havnt gotten around to getting dimensions due to my back being fucked up(nor have i cleaned it ) edit: and yeah, that clarion looks nice edi2: i havnt had the chance to hear any shallow subs in person either, if any1 has heard any sub, what do you recommend. from what i've gathered, the jl is the "best", but im assuming its because of bias and name/brand...

    * Trevor's 2010 Audi A4 Trunk Build. Sundown. Fi. *

cool dude, i was going to do something with mine, but instead realized that i do need the trunk space, going for a shallow woofer instead, not as loud . good luck with ur build, waiting for more updates lol o yeah, i also like the a4 lights, they are better than the a5s, didnt get this option on mine and they are pricey for aftermarkets and oem is ridiculous lol

    Welcome to the IHoP

sup guys, anything been happening lately? i gotta get back on my bump cause i currently aint got nething but a crappy jlw1 from my 1st system ever, lawlz. considering some rockfords\ i want a t1, but ideally a p3(preferably the shallow ones too, lol)
  15. so i was wondering if there were any local guys(central/south florida) who would want to get together and check out each others packages, err, i mean subs? im in the market for a new sub and it would be awesome if i could check out/hear other ppls different subs and builds. i mean, i could go to the store, but you know how it is there... and if u you look at a demo car, its f'ing fully equipped and whatnot so you get your hopes up only to be crushed with a dollar amount/value

    new car new build

.so my friend wants to know the price for both my 15s and both amps, i was gonna sell one amp but he wants a package deal* so i was lookin at some subs 2x JL 10" W6v2 2x Fi 10/12" Q either set up probably in a sealed enclosure(i understnad this lets it more responsive and clearer bass/sq increase). i would need 2 amps for the Fis/ prolyl kickers aswell, found the 1000,1 on ebay for 300 and found a 1500.1 for 400$.

    new car new build

so, im trading in my tahoe and took out the 2 15 BLs. i loved how it hit with rap music and somewhat liked the performance with electro/house/etc. so i cant use these anymore so im going to sell them to a friend. now im getting a car and was wondering what would be a decent set up? i was thinkin 2 10s or 2 12s Q sealed for space/volume reasons. i got 2 kickers 1000.1 topoewr each sub, should i get something else instead? i'll have to look at the car today and figure out my available work space after i do some homework(actual school homework, lawlz) Im not sure yet lols just hopin for some ideas i guess. i dont want the car to rattle, but i dont have alot of money atm to invest into it immediately. by not having alot of money im referring to go out and still have fun on the weekends(every other weekend now). ideas???

    new car new build

\ yeah, tbh, im jsut looking for a slip in box, nothing TOO fancy. one of my friends wants to buy 1 15 off of me, if i can sell the other one, i might just get 2 12 Qs. Anyone try the Polk SRs?(i think its Sr?) im not looking to get loud like i had in my tahoe, just wanting that extra bump. the day before trade in, i was just listening to young jeezy on it loving the bass knowing i wouldnt be able to get to something like that for atleast 2 yrs, unless i win the lotta, lol.

    new car new build

This^^ ... Also, you might be happy with some SSDs as well... Are you porting or sealing the enclosure?? That will make a difference as well... i was thinking sealed(listen to electro and rap, yah...) but might try ported with a more sq orientated sub? thats y i was thinking the Fi Q, might do some JLs 6s if my friend lets get them ( 2 10s, was thinking about trading my BLs for these since he wants to get an escalade) maybe some pioneers since i can probably get some cheap off of ebay or something.

what amp for a fi q12

i used a kicker 1000.1 on my 15" BL and it did really good. BL is louder but not that great in SQ, from what i hear/understand. I would just like to compare them

    new car new build

box is gonna be too big, i think. im not pro box builder so i really dont know how to fiberglass and i want to be able to remove it neatly without any permanent customization incase i decide to sell later on. would need to make it ported= more space.
  23. i just canceled my order(i just needed to hit the pay now/purchase button) 1 of my friends told me that the kenwood DDX714 was better and already had bluetooth in it and garmin aswell. i looked it up on ebay and price-wise, i could get everything i want(iPod control, remote and unit itself with bluetooth) for under 900$ shipped http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18252_Kenwood+DDX714+-DDX-714-.html aargh!!! its jvc vs kenwood now it'd be JVC Kenwood unit 709 610 bluetooth 70 0 iPod 27 16 nav 0 189 remote 0 40 806-815 855-865
  24. with christmas coming up and me "getting" some polk audio speakers for my tahoe as a gift, what should i get myself?(lol) i am torn between the pioneer and the jvc(i'd probably be getting them off of sonicelectronix) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_19739_Pioneer+AVIC-X910BT.html $699 + already has bluetooth - would need to get the steering wheel controls($70) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12317_JVC+KW-NX7000.html $709 + large sexy screen + remote control + garmin nav - bluetooth would be an additional $70 the boot-up times dont seem to be an issue, since from reading they both start audio upon ignition, it would just be the nav that takes a while i want either steering wheel controls or a remote so yeah.. im not sure i would use the bluetooth alot, so they are basically about the same total, price wise. i've looked up the iPod interface on both HUs and dont get much. the pioneer seems to have a better UI along with the ease of searching by letter( like a,b ,c etc) and was unable to find much on the jvc so which would you get? yeah, lol o, and the place on where im gettin the pa speakers, doesnt have any hu at all, lol(its some guy who left sound advice and started his own lil shop with subs, speakers, amps and the small HUs, sound advice closed down, lmfao!)
