Sup SSA! I'm lookin at DC Lvl 4xl m2 18's (Fully Loaded) or Custom Built Psi Platform 3 18's. Space and power isn't a option. Will be running 3000-3300rms.I'm trying to get loud, good 150's, real low & hi bass, and a all day ground pounding system. Is Psi good and do they get LOUD!! and are built good with top notch parts? No no, it was a joke. I am getting FI Q's. I had a 15in Q in 3.6cu tuned at 29hz and it murdered the lows. My truck peaked at 30hz with that setup. I liked it so much I ordered 2 18's. LOL Thanks for input bro. Did u get it metered? 140@30 hz, 15in Q, SAZ-1500 Nice score

Hey SSA! My Uncle Brad sold his MA's last month and now he wants something wayy louder & lower (146db+). He has all the equipment he just needs subs & his enclosure is 6-7cuft after displacements tuned to 29hz! For the last 2 weeks we looked at subs online & came to either 2 15" SSA Xcons, Fi BL's (Hyper Pole & Flatwind Coil), or DC Level 4m2's. We never owned or heard these subs so if u guys have or heard any of them please helps us out here! Thanks! BTW:Subs will be firing in cabin & Amp is a Hifonics ZRX30001.D (CEA Rated!)

The one's I owned were only the MA series, an MA100XE and a pair of MA150XE's. They did fine on output, just weren't the least bit impressive on the quality of sound. Between a little mechanical noise and a lackluster response they just didn't impress me. As for the 3-3.5cuft per sub, well, it's in the range for the drivers as given by the manufacturers. The port area and tuning will have an affect as well as the vehicle environment. Believe me, I understand that it's frustrating that no one is giving real straight answers. You have to understand that absolutely NO ONE can predict exactly what the results are going to be from each product and tell you with certainty which one will suit you better. The recommendations given so far are from those peoples personal experiences and have to be weighed as such. I believe that either choice will give good results as both are proven performing drivers. On another note, at least from the experience I've had with MA subs, he'll be leaps and bounds ahead of where he was just having a quality sub such as either of these. I've never owned either so I'll leave recommendations up to those who have. Thanks 4 info bro. What MA subs did u have? My Unk had the Hardkore 15's (2000rms each). His enclosure is 6-7cuft after all displacements so is 3-3.5 per sub enough space for bl 15's or xcons 15's to reach full potential?

Thanks 4 info bro. It really helps to talk 2 someone who has both. Did you ever get both subs metered & what were your pros & cons on both? I have no complaints for the BL at all. But the XCON is one of my all time favorite drivers. It gets loud, low and sounds excellent. I have had many many subs over the past few years (Fi, SSA, JL, Image Dynamics, Sundown, Arc, Rockford, Alpine, Boston Acoustics, and many more) I can honestly say that the BL and the XCON are in my top 5 with the XCON ahead for my taste. Thats Exactly what I said. As far as power he has a lil over 3k. He mainly wants lows & I think any of those 15's + 3k + 29hz tuning = 1 low end chest hittin Monster. He should be somewhere in the 140db class though for sure not 130's

Wasup SSA! I'm seeing alot of builds lately using Birch wood and I never used Baltic Birch before. I know that its 10 bucks more,lighter, and stronger than MDF. But my ? is which wood gives MORE output & helps out on meter better? Weight isn't an option I just wanna know whats the best material to use & what will be loudest! Thanks SSA

It wont be a wall it will just be a trunk setup in my Yukon. All sides will be double baffled The side walls is what I was refrencing to. If this is the case, Yes, birch would be my wood of choice. So your saying since I'm double baffeling Birch would be more louder than double baffleing with MDF? First off, what is the setup? You may be over thinking/killing this whole process. If doubling all layers, yes, I would chose birch over mdf. Why, because double birch vs double mdf in sound difference would be un audible, so why not save the weight. I already got my BC5500d, 3 XS D3100's, and stinger 0 guage wire. Setup will be 3 18's but I have'nt decided on subs. I want the new Nightshades but I dont know pricing & when they'll be available. If their over 600 then Sundown Zv.3 18's! Each sub will be getting 2200-2500rms until I upgrade my amp.
