    A good headunit

So working for Wal-Mart doesnt exactly leave you with a whole lot of money to spend on quality products, espicially when you are the only one working with a wife and kid. So anyways, I've been without a stereo in my truck for almost 2 years until my birthday back in April. My father-in-law got me a Boss cd player and its already starting to crap out. It wasnt my choice but I wasnt picky when I got it. That was a major step down from my Eclipse CD4000 and I loved that thing. I've very tempted to get another Eclipse and I have been eyeing the CD3200. I had good luck with Eclipse and wouldnt mind going back to it. My local shop has also got me interested in the Kenwood Excelon X692. I would like to broaden my experience with various decks. I've used JVC, Pioneer, Eclipse, and now Boss. What would you recommend?? I would like the 3 pre-outs on the back obviosly. My truck is a std cab 1991 Chevy Silverado. Right now I have a CVR behind my seat and a 4" Rockford Fanatic P components. I'm satisfied with the speaker and sub for the moment. I've mainly looking into getting the deck atm. I'm looking for LSQ if that matters on the headunit. I listen to everything from Mozart, to Johnny Cash, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington to George Jones and Garth Brookes, and even some ICP, Snoop dog, Young Jeezy and Dr. Dre. Thanks for your help.... --Jess

How do YOU smoke your brisket??

Hello guys.... Just wondering what you use when you smoke your briskets?? Do you use Rubs or marinades?? Is it store bought or home made?? I love jack Daniels and a friend told me to use it when i smoke, so I tried it on a rack of spare ribs 2 nights ago and wasnt that thrilled with it. Maybe I did something wrong. Anyways, I just got a new smoker/grill from Wal-Mart about a week ago. I've already grilled some corn and it was awesome. I grilled some steaks, and also some pork chops(the really think one's from Sam's club), and I have smoked 1 rack of ribs. What I'm wanting to know is if any of ya'll will share your smoking rubs or marinades with me. I work 12pm-9pm today and when I get home I am wanting to start smoking my brisket for tomorrow. I want to have it and 2 racks of ribs done for tomorrow. I will also be smoking 8 ears of corn, my mom will be making some of her famous baked beans and my wife will be making some potatoe salad and candied sweet potatoes. My family is small, me and my wife and son, my mom and grandma. We will probably be the only one's there, so what I have left over I will try to take to the guys at work that hafta close tomorrow night. I work at Wal-Mart in the tire and lube express. Foot Notes: Please share your rub and marinades and which do you think is better and why?? I like both. I'm wanting ideas for what to use for tonight and tomorrow. Jess

    New guy from Oklahoma

I know what I want, but with my limited space, I'm gonna have troubles. My CVR and components are are doin the job atm, so my first step will be my head unit. Eventually I'll end up replacing everything. My 12" CVR gets the job done especially for what it is, but its just not enough. This hobby is proving to be very addictive.

    New guy from Oklahoma

Hello all....I'm a new guy from Tahlequah, Oklahoma. There seems to be quite a few of ya from Texas, so I'll add I'm formally from Bonham, Tx between Sherman and Paris if ya dont know. I have a Chevy Silverado with a boss hu(birthday gift), RF Fanatic P 4" components, Kicker CVR, with a Bazooka BA1500 and a cheap 2 channel amp for the components. Looking to redo everything one piece at a time. Working at Wal-mart doesnt exactly give me an abundant amount of money to spend. Anyways, I'll be posting some questions and look forward to share my somewhat knowledge where it permits. Jess
