  1. I've used many different one's that I like. I had the first Kenwood Mask unit that came out. It was a nice deck. I've used several Panasonic, Pioneer and Clarion's and the only one to die on me is a Pioneer. I've now got an Alpine 9765 and I had 2 9764's that were stolen out of my car. These are my favorite's by far. I don't really like the new looks of the Alpine's over the 9765 but they aren't bad. My cousin had a $1300 clarion that had a huge brain unit that went behind the dash and had a seperate graphix EQ. When he swapped to somethign else he offered to sell it to me for $300. I should have bought it because this was the mid 90's and that thing was built like a tank and sounded amazing. Much nicer than anything I've checked out since. My vote went to Alpine though since they've had solid reliabilty for me for years.

    Availability of new amps

I see! HAHA. So the Leviathan is a Draconia and a Deuce all in one case? Sounds like the one amp option I've been looking for. I've been thinking about a dedicated midbass in the doors with the comps in kicks but I think Bi-amping the P6.2's will get me pretty close to what I'm wanting anyway. If not I can always buy another amp and kicks later to run the midbasses. What's the price going to look like on the Leviathon?

    Someone got a new toy

I've been looking at bikes myself and so far the only one that fit me exactly right is the Suzuki s50. 450lbs, 800cc, shaft drive and the pipes run out of the way of your legs. I'm 5'4" so I had to find something that fit me without burning my calves. Weight isn't a problem because I'm plenty big enough to handle it. It's supposed to be just a hair behind the big bore cruisers because of it's light weight. I could kick myself in the ass for not buying my wife's mothers bike. Her husband died recently and she sold his Vulcan Drifter (2001 with 1100 miles) for $2500. It was so clean you can't imagine. I don't think she wanted to sell it to me because she would see it all the time and it would remind her of him so I didn't press buying it...

    Availability of new amps

I haven't been over here in a while and I see now that ZED is making their own amps! WOOHOO! I've used some old ZED made amps before and I have now decided on what I'm going with for my setup. Draconia to bi-amp my P6.2's and a Minilith to power an RL-p or SI D2 12. Hurry up taxes! I just need to send off my BMF1000d to Kbaudio for repair so I can sell it. Now I'm thinking I might sell the Orion's to get a nicer setup for these amps and run some ID8's IB in my doors...I'm definately going with ZED amps.

    Dont know much?

$1200...You just want a single 12? What vehicle is this going in? I would do a ID Max v.3 12 with a 800-1000w clean class a/b. That would sound great and get loud. Unless you are going for all out SPL then I would do an MT and some chunglam 2-2.5kw.

    SI 327's

I have a NIB set of Orion P6.2's I would trade for them. Never used them and they are perfect. I really want to run a 3 way setup and if I don't do something quick my brother will take the Orion's from me. He already got my Kicker RS6c's and trashed them.

    It is DEAD!

I have bought from RE and they were very good. I got my HC 15 the same week I ordered and I'm in Arkansas. Those guys are not jerks and they will chat on the phone with you about stereo stuff all day if you let them.

    suggestions needed..

Do something like what I am going to do. Put bucket seats in your truck and run a downfiring 10 or 12 (I'm going IDMax 12) between them in a custom console. Then you still have a back seat, you have BETTER front seats and you have killer up front bass. If I dont' go this route I will be running 2 10's the exact same way you had them (you inspired my fallback plan with the pics of your box)

    Old School CV!

I have to agree with the guy that said. WHY? I had 2 of the 12's at one time and they were decent at best. EVERY sub I bought after those were upgrades IMO. I would put those as one of my least favorite subs to date. They sounded pretty good but the Soundstream SPL's sounded better and got louder for less money.

    XMAX King?

You should sell it to me if you don't need it.
  11. I'm trying to find out what the Mounting depth is to see if they will work downfiring under the rear seat of my silverado.
  12. ss454

    Sexy 10"

Sell that and buy the MT. Then the MT will be even LESS!
  13. ss454

    XMAX King?

    Yeah that's why you're running a D2 15??
  14. I would get them. They are one of the best all time SQ subs that can get pretty loud.

SoundDomain had an enclosure building contest.

WHY DID YOU UES SO MUCH CONCRETE? You should have made the sides of the mold no more than 2" from that ball. THen it would be lighter and not need as much concrete to build. Try that agian. I thought of doing the same thing once!

    components

I have a set of P6.2's and I used to run a set of RS6c's. Never heard the RE's but I heard they are smoother than the CDT CL's and louder which is saying a lot. I personally loved the RS6c's. I would love to try the RE's though.
  17. www.reaudio.com I would run a couple of RE series 12's with that amp. Should sound great and pound better than anything else with that power.

Top 5 Component Sets You've Heard

2 of my pics were under $250. Kicker RS6c's are hard to beat for the price they are selling at at www.onlinecarstereo.com I haven't used them yet but from what I hear the RE series componets are really nice sounding and well under $250. I would trade my BRAND NEW NEVER USED Orion P6.2's for a set!

How does this sound for a HT setup?

I understand that too but it's not going in my house. It's going in a new addition my parents are adding at their house. Like a HT/gameroom/office complex. It is 2 story with a shower and kitchen and office but with a HT setup and game tables (no pool table though) Since it's still in construction I went ahead and made boxes in the ceiling for the rear speakers with a grill that will hide them! It's going to be one heck of a sweet setup. My dad wants to do a full EQ for music listening and I am all for it. 5.1 for everything else. All speakers and xovers and tweets shipped today. I can 't wait.
  20. Front main woofers- http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=295-364 Center channel and Rear woofers- http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=295-330 Tweets- (one in center channel, one in each main, one in each rear) http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=277-408 Subwoofers- 2 RE RE 10's (you know what they look like) Subwoofer amp- http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-793 I was thinking of running the ribbon tweet from Dayton but it has to be cutoff at 3k hz and there was a hard gap to fill between 2 and 3k hz. I want drivers that can bridge the gap and if the response graphs are anything like the real output of the peerless tweets then they are amazing for the price. I'm just going to run single drivers up front so that's why I'm going with the Reference series from Dayton. They have smoother responce than the other Dayton alum's I am using. What do you guys think? I'm going for sealed all the way unless you think a TL would be better for the mains. AND I might run dual 7" alums like the others if you think those will work better than the single Ref series. ANy input would help a lot. This is for a medium size game room/entertainment room. My dad wanted a killer SQ HT setup for a good price and since I'm good with box design and we both can build anything we are going to do the DIY route. He's also getting either a 42" plasma or 52" HDTV!

How does this sound for a HT setup?

Well I went with all Aluminum cone 7" speakers. I am going to run a dual 7 on each side, 4 total, for the mains and a single 7 and tweet for the center and a single 7 and tweet for each side of the rear. I'm not sure on the sub now. I think a tempest will be way too large. This room is not huge but not small at all. My mom doesn't like the whole movie theater surround setup so I think I'm wanting to go with a low Fs 10 if possible. MAYBE a shiva but I think a Tempest will be WAY too much.

    6" sub

Partsexpress.com has some sweet looking Tang Band 6.5's subs that do 12mm xmax. Great price too.
  23. ss454

    You have my attention !

I'm 25 and just want some sweet sounding bass. The specs on these look like they will be very nice. They would be sealed. I like headroom.

How does this sound for a HT setup?

They say it has an aluminum cone on the Ref series. I also am crossing them at 1.5 I was just pointing out that I couldn't rind a driver to fill the gap from 2-3k so I could use the ribbon tweets. Are the response graphs accurate? They show those Peerless tweets SUPER smooth. What would you suggest for the center channel speakers then?
