I don't see how it would make it more difficult to rebuild. The way I see it this would make it easier. I didn't know how well the cone walk problem had been dealt with. The old Ti drivers and GZ Plats would walk all over the place. I also have a neat idea for a surround that would allow much more cone area and still have high excursion. Well one of the things I always noticed on high excursion drives is the lack of lateral stabuility at long throw. The problem is that the spider only holds the former in place at either one place or two places really close together. Why not have a spider in the standard position and one at the end of the former? Then you could make a sub put out as much travel as the spider would allow without cone walk. Hold a broom with one hand and see how well you can hold it still. now hold it in the middle and at the end and you have a much stronger hold. Same concept. Sure it would make the former longer but not that much. It could be done similar to placing another basket upside down where the pole peice usually is. Well you need to start from flat so you know what is going on at every frequency then you tune from there. I personally tune it to how I like to hear it and I don't care what people think about it. SQ is subjective anyway.

"Tell your friends about me!" Yeah I like this place too. We need to increase the traffic a bit but there is a nice professional feel here and I think that is what they were going for. We still have fun thought!

I personally like to listen to a live disc that can be watched on DVD also like Hell freezes Over from The Eagles or Yanni Live at the Acropolis. That gives you a good idea of where the imagining should come from and you see the instruments being played so you know when and where they should come in. You can't listen and watch at the same time unless you have an in dash screen but if you know the DVD well you will know what to listen for. For setting up the imaging for pure SQ you always need pink noise and an RTA at least to get it perfect.

They would not have been worth anything after I used them and I couldn't listen to them daily so I got something that I could. I am very happy. It is not often that you get 15's for 12's with free shipping both ways. My MECA score will benefit from this greatly. The APX's cone's were only 8.5". The PBX's are very close to my CMPx2! That is a good thing and they have also been taking 8kw for burps and doing good. Turst me I didn't screw up!

Deals done! The APX's are history. I traded them to Dreid for 2 Powerbase Extreme 15's dual 2 ohm. He paid my shipping and his shipping for them so I could not resist. I think they will ROCK though and I can now daily drive and run both my batteries for Street B and kick ass in MECA! The APX's would not give me enough cone area to even challenge anyone in MECA and I think they will do good for Street B! Either way they are going bye bye tomorrow! I am trying to find them. Hell it hasn't even been that long ago. It was an '02 Ram Air Trans Am.

It has advantages and disadvantages. One power supply is all you would have to power and it would be one unit to hide. On the other hand if it goes out you loose everything. Not only that but subs can pull much more juick from the amp than components and could cause power fluxuations in the board and that is not good for SQ.

The only problem with the Cyclone is that it breaks easy, was only available in SVC 8 ohm an would barely pull over 50hz. I would take the superman OZ 250L over the Cyclone for SQ.

I don't like the JL against anything. I would take a Crystal CMP or CMPx2 over the JL any day. The XBL subs sound too sterile to me. The cone just moves air and nothing more. Sure they get loud and have no audible distortion but the OZ 250L could not get super loud and it is the KING of SQ subs so high xmax adds nothing to SQ.

I like a nice 2 chanel. I don't like rear fill in trunk cars and that is all I ever ran until now but I still think you can get 2 2 cahnles and run your highs cheaper than a 4 chanel of the same power.

Actually I read somewhere that if a sub is pushed with extrememly too little power, say 50wrms on a subs that takes 1200rms then the cooling of the sub will not some into play because it will never move the cone and could eventually burn the coil. You would have to play it for a long time I am sure.

My favorite amp of all time is my old Autotek 601X! That think rocked and never even got warm to the touch. After that I don't really have a favorite. I like my Orion 2500d and I would love a Zapco 9.0!

I would like to know how to keep steady output power at lower voltage drops. Like the Zapco 9.0.

I would look into ED's K series. They have some of the best qualit control I have seen. Other than that there are several options and I have to agree that maybe 1 10 or 2 8's would suit your situation better.
